About Steve Beckerdite
Steve and Debbie both are pharmacists. Steve was brought up in Ft. Smith, AR and Debbie is from Monroe, LA. Both now live in Fayetteville, AR which is about 45 minutes from the lake house. Because we live so close we are very attentive to the house. We have been renting our house for 16 years and we know you won't return if you are not treated well. We have many repeat guests each year. We love outdoor activities and family life. Our grandson who is 8 really enjoys the lake house. What a "nature" education for him!
Steve Beckerdite purchased this House in 2001
Why Steve Beckerdite chose Garfield
After spending many vacations on Beaver Lake we decided to buy this house in 2001 as a weekend get-away and as a vacation rental unit. We looked at many houses in Lost Bridge Village subdivision before we bought. What sold us on this house was the quality. We did not see houses with cedar wood and real Ozark stone as this one does. The construction is very well done by one of the best contractors in our area and you can feel it throughout the house. The walk to the water from the house is very gentle. Even the elderly can usually handle it. We have a fish cleaning table at the water's edge. There is a charcoal grill and we have decided that the real charcoal rather than propane makes the food taste much better. There is always something to entertain you on Beaver. Walking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, water sports, sailing, relaxing, relaxing, relaxing, etc.
What makes this House unique
Because our house has Ozark stone fireplaces, you can use it year round. The house has modern amenities; yet, it has a wonderful 'cabin' feel to it. The cedar accents throughout add a warm, cozy feeling to the rooms. There is plenty of glass to take advantage of the views from all sides. Even the living room has a sky light. Beautiful mountain lake with crystal clear waters for whatever your boating/fishing/swimming/sailing activities. This north end of Beaver Lake is the clearest part. The scuba diving club meets on this end because of that. Beaver is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes we've ever seen. The water stays so deep blue green and clear. Whitney Mt makes the cliff views just awesome for picture taking. Make sure you tour Whitney Mt Chapel and the grounds at the top where the club house is. If you are looking for a site for a wedding you can't go wrong here year round! Our house has been used many times for a base house of stay for weddings and reunions. Be on the lookout for wildlife because there are lots. The openness of this house makes it very relaxing. We love eating on the deck because of the lake view. As soon as we hit the deck, we feel the stress just melt away! Just love it!

Great place to get away from it all!
We had a wonderful girls weekend at this beautiful, out-of-the-way VRBO. We felt like we had the lake to ourselves (along with the deer who we saw several times). I'm definitely glad I drove a rented SUV rather than my low-slung sports car, because the driveway is very steep and the area roads also have steep grades. Also really enjoyed a day trip to Eureka Springs, which is a really cool nearby, historic town.
We had a special family time at this cabin, 11 of us. We enjoyed the fireplace as it rained a lot during our stay. All the provided firewood was outside and wet so we bought some dry wood in town. It was a challenge to get 3 cars parked on the very steep driveway, but we did. Kids enjoyed the foosball table. We visited the tennis courts up on the mountain and they are in tremendous need of repair. However, the views at the top are lovely!
As you know God controls the weather. When you have 11 people all inside because it's raining temperaments can get edgy. Firewood is usually kept outside by most people but can be brought into the house before the rain starts by the guest. The driveway is downhill toward the lake as most houses that are on the lakefront. We drove by the tennis courts to see what kind of shape they were because we play tennis, too. Considering they are community tennis courts and are outside they are not in bad shape. There were a few leaves on them but I did not see any potholes on the courts nor gaping holes in the nets. I would have been happy to play there.
We loved our stay!
We enjoyed the house, it's quite stunning. The downstairs feels like a master with children's room add on. It was perfect for my kids and I. The loft was quite cozy and the private shower and toilet was a great convince. The kitchen was a little small but they have a lot to offer as far as pots/pans/utensils/ect. The fridge had lots of room also! This was a great place to relax for the week and the owners were very gracious with our checkout time. All of the driveways in the area are quite scary but this one was only SLIGHTLY worrisome. Once you are parked, your vehicle is almost level. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax with family.
Great get away
We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the views and the property. The house was clean and beautiful. Besides stiff driveway, we really likes our times here in NW Arkansas and would defintely rent the house again in the summer.
Had a nice stay. Drive a bit steep but manageable
