Delightfully easy check-in, clean and spacious farm house, beautiful front porches, well-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, and hiking trails for a morning walk! Wish we had more than 1 night here to enjoy the property more, but it was great.
Loved our stay at the farmhouse! We had more than enough dishes and cookware for our stay. The beds were so comfortable. We were all fast asleep as soon as we hit the pillows. It was nice to be back in a farmhouse and you can see they took care to show the history and labor of love the home was. There were little things here and there that reminded me of my grandparents farmhouse and it was nice to reminisce.
My family and I enjoyed a three day stay at this historic home. It had plenty of farm themed charm and a neat property to explore. Our favorite parts were the wooded areas for hiking and the neat buildings and equipment onsite.
Well worth the rate, flexible check-in and check-out times, Brian was easy to work with, short drive into Guttenberg which was important due to the reason we came - for a funeral. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed the farm. The kids went and did some fishing in the pond and we made s’mores over the fire pit. It was a great time and it felt like home.
Another great stay at Fritz’s Farmhouse. It’s always a wonderful time motorcycling in northeast Iowa and the farmhouse is a true treasure. The family is so welcoming and feels like coming home every time we come to Iowa.
The property was absolutely beautiful! Such an amazing place! Brian the owner of the farmhouse went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay, and will be letting friends know of this wonderful experience! Thanks so much Brian for making us feel at home :)

Girls trip celebrating 56 years since our high school reunion
We all had a great time on the farm .
Brian was so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed . So enjoyed the four wheeler and driving around the farm .
We will return next year 😍
We had a wonderful weekend and definitely will be coming back. We have two kids who absolutely loved the farm house, location and views. My 11 year old son loved playing basketball in the barn. So much fun!
The prop was perfect for a family getaway. My adult children, mothe-in-law, and I stayed for a long weekend. The house was perfect for us. It is a beautifully restored stone house. The décor added to the charm of this home. It was close to many Mississippi River activities. There is also two ponds and a hiking trail. The family who owns the property are very friendly and accommodating. Also, theresident chickens are fun to watch.
We booked Fritz's farmhouse for when our middle son was in a baseball tournament at the Field of Dreams. We wanted a place we could go to rest in between the time gaps that had enough space for the kids to play outside. Fritz's was PERFECT for that! The owners were great to work with and the home was cozy. Our boys got a chance to play wiffle ball, cornhole/bags and basketball outside but also were able to relax inside from the heat. They took walks to the pond, went on the swing and got another taste of farm life. We didn't get a chance to use the wood fire oven which was a bummer but Brian did let us graze the raspberry bushes <3 We would definitely come back the next time we are staying in Iowa! Thank you Kann family for a great home!
We live in Central Wisconsin and arranged to stay at this lovely property as a way to meet our daughter who lives in Des Moines.
There is a great fire pit, but too windy to light a fire. We did sit with her out by the fire ring to share time together socially distanced due to COVID. When it rained, we sat inside the barn, which was clean and had comfortable chairs. It is set up for weddings and gatherings, so quite comfortable for visiting.
The bed was so comfortable, kitchen was great for preparing food, living area had nice seating for reading in the evening, and the front porch had a wonderfully comfortable swing which we used and enjoyed. Dining room had a large table for families or groups.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and Brian, the owner was very kind and responsive when we had questions. Thanks so much for sharing this lovely home! We hope to return! Kathleen & Brian

An amazing old farm house restored with modern touches
We could not have asked for a better place, very comfortable, spacious, a very welcoming host (even invited us to dinner at his son’s restaurant), but the best part was an amazing property. If you love old farm houses this as good as it gets!We did the Driftless 100 in Elkader and stayed 2 nights maximizing everything from the modern kitchen to the comfy living room & beds to a perfectly placed fire pit to watch the sunset and sip bourbon after the race.
Fritz's Farmhouse was perfect for our little gather. The property is well kept and very clean!
It was a wonderful and peaceful experience. Full of charm, we would gladly rent again!
