With bedrooms at either end of the house you can invite your friends or bring your kids. Dogs are welcome. We have fenced off about an acre for them to run and explore and there are 100 acres for everyone to explore. A fully equipped kitchen is there to use or you can eat at one of the many restaurants in Ukiah or Boonville.

We are retired musicians from the Bay Area who fell in love with the area around Ukiah and Boonville.
Julie purchased this Bungalow in 2013
Why Julie chose Ukiah
It's a beautiful piece of land where you are virtually alone. So quiet. We love it.
What makes this Bungalow unique
You can bring your dogs.
Great place for active dogs!
We sure enjoyed our time here but our dogs loved it! Beautiful sunrises while sipping coffee was our favorite part of our stay!
I'm so glad you had such a good time. Please come again.
better than i hoped for
Everything was as advertised! location is perfect. Complete silence and a very comfortable place to stay. Our hostess Julie was always available for any questions , we would definitely stay there again!! Leah & David
Beautiful quiet getaway!
We recently rented the Welshwood Guest house as a getaway for a week while touring Mendocino County. It was such a relief to find a place that would allow us to take our dog with us! The property and house is absolutely beautiful the photos here really do not do justice. We loved the place so much that we extended our stay twice. The owner was very accommodating and gave excellent instructions and check in procedure. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic setting this is definitely the place!
Trent, it was so nice to have you. Please come again.
Loved it! Our pup loved it!
Beautiful location close to town. Great for dogs with a full fence. Makes for a relaxing vacation when you can let you pup out to explore and not worry he’ll get too far. We brought our kindle and books we haven’t had time to read and kicked back in the chairs and read for hours. Feels remote with beautiful views from the floor to ceiling glass walls, yet close 15 minute drive to town. Everything you need is provided. We look forward to our next stay.
Lovely - not an easy drive
The house and property are absolutely lovely - pictures don't do it justice. House is very well equipped and super comfortable for people and doggies! Thank goodness there is fantastic AC, as it is REALLY needed in the summer. It was extremely hot, smoky and buggy (yellow-jackets) while we were there in August so we had to spend most of our time inside. Thankfully there are windows with gorgeous views everywhere. It's a great place to relax, whether in bed, the tub or the great arm chairs - views everywhere.
One thing to note, if you're planning on exploring the area, the house is a very long, slow, windy drive of over 6miles from the highway. Your car will get very dirty on the gravel road and there's no quick hop to anywhere (don't forget something at the store!). Once you're at the house, it's pretty heavenly, but the trip is a touch grueling(in my opinion, as a city girl), especially after a little wine. So if you're wanting to do a lot of site-seeing, you might want to rethink it. This is the ideal place for staying put, not for being on the go.
Thanks for your lovely review. Just for accuracy, the trip from Ukiah is about 6 miles. Very windy. 2 miles of that are on a gravel road. Quite dusty but we are out in the country. You’re right about staying put. Thanks for coming.
Fantastic hideaway, relaxing and peaceful.
We loved our stay at Welshwood in the lead up to our wedding. It was just what we needed! It’s a peaceful setting secluded in the beautiful outdoors. The actual building is very modern and sleek with large windows throughout. We will be back!
Thank you so much for such a nice review. I hope you have a successful wedding and marriage.
Our bungalow is perfectly situated between the Alexander and the Anderson Valleys (about 125 miles from the Bay Area) for your wine tasting and hiking pleasure. Ukiah, about 4 miles away, is a town of many faces. There are several nice restaurants which you will find in our house book. There's an interesting museum and wine tasting down hwy 101. Over the hill in Boonville, via hwy 253, you can enjoy the Anderson Valley wine trail along hwy 123 or drive out to the coast through the redwoods. Lots of quaint shops, ceramic, antiques, hiking and more.
