Why Julie chose Mendocino County

Wonderful location, great house
The house feels very remote but actually isn't far from a lot of the best of Anderson Valley. Deer everywhere, gorgeous views out over the pond, and we really enjoyed the outdoor tub for two (or three good friends). All the dishes/pots/pans you would need, and the owner was nice enough to leave a bottle of wine for us. Would absolutely stay again.
Light, airy, minimalist, alpine retreat with crisp modern furnishings and a killer view
Wow! Even better the third time. We wouldn’t change a thing.
A wonderful and restful place
A perfect place for people and dogs. Very private. A sizeable fenced property surrounding the cottage and plenty of room for walks beyond the fenced area. The house is great - wide open, with views everywhere.
Would visit again
Wonderful place with great views. As remote as I wanted it to be.
Perfect place to get away from it all
The house is simple and efficient but has most amenities you might want. The property is beautiful and a wonderful place to either hang out and read or take a hike. Be prepared for the two-mile gravel road to get there (which is actually a beautiful drive highlighting the best of a California landscape) and plan ahead if you want to take a bath (because water pressure in the shower and bath isn't great) but it is the perfect place to get away from it all. It's also close to town should you want to do that.
The house was perfect -- so peaceful and quiet. Everything we needed and impeccable. We will return.
Thanks for the lovely review. I'm so glad you had a good time.
Our bungalow is perfectly situated between the Alexander and the Anderson Valleys (about 125 miles from the Bay Area) for your wine tasting and hiking pleasure. Ukiah, about 4 miles away, is a town of many faces. There are several nice restaurants which you will find in our house book. There's an interesting museum and wine tasting down hwy 101. Over the hill in Boonville, via hwy 253, you can enjoy the Anderson Valley wine trail along hwy 123 or drive out to the coast through the redwoods. Lots of quaint shops, ceramic, antiques, hiking and more.
