A rare peaceful slice of paradise. We throughly enjoyed sitting on the lanai surrounded by lush tropical foliage. Very clean, nice host and comfortable accommodations. Wish we could have stayed longer but we were on a mission to see as much of Hawaii as possible on our vacation. Great location too! Not far from the National Volcano Park.

Staying with Glenn was excellent. The property was secluded and peaceful. Glenn provided so many amenities and assistance during my stay. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I'm on the island.

This place was perfect! Had everything you need and more. Great area and a way to stay off electronics! Very family friendly! Better than a luxury hotel!

Beautiful eco friendly property in the rainforest. A little off the beaten path, but a beautiful place to wake up! Glen was super friendly and helpful (and has the cutest and sweetest dogs). He made sure we knew when the volcano was erupting and where we should go for best viewing! Mohalo!

If you’re looking for something a little different, Glenn and Lisa’s place is the spot.Really enjoyed relaxing on the back lanai in the morning, drinking coffee and watching all the beautiful birds.

Glen has done a wonderful job building his house and should be so proud! He and his wife have put a lot of hard work into the property and it shows! Loved staying at the villa and plan on returning!

A cool place to stay somewhat near Volcano. Totally off-grid, which was a surprise, but it worked out well. Glen is an enthusiastic, caring host who was happy to show us all he's done with the property, which was amazing. The outdoor toilet and solar shower are unique and very enjoyable. We'd stay there again!

We really enjoyed our time. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Even though we were off grid we still were able to use our phones and internet. Be aware the bathroom and shower are outside but there is still plenty of hot water for the shower and there is a flushing toilet. Glen was an awesome host he kept us informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend his place. You are completely in tune with nature and it was very relaxing.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the outdoor patio. Rocking on the chairs to decompress after a busy travel day was perfect. I personally loved the outdoor shower but it was not private - you share it with another unit. Hosts were great and lovely people. Their dogs are so sweet and gentle! They location is a bit of a drive from the main roads to Hilo but excellent access to volcano national park. The unit had everything we could need. Great stay.

If you like quiet, remote and clean with friendly hosts- this is your place. The bed was super comfortable. The stars can be vividly seen at night and the coqi frogs lull you to sleep. The outdoor shower is awesome. Glen and Lisa were very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. You can’t beat the accommodations for the price.

Quirky, fun, secluded lush garden surrounding, friendly personable owner. The solar electricity supply for lighting failed and needed a back up. Beware - if you are expecting location near facilities and a conventional stay, this one is not for you. We enjoyed it nevertheless.

We were very happy with the place you couldn't ask for a nicer host he was awesome even made us a salad from his garden. The only bad thing was that if you are handicapped and have trouble walking there are steps to get in and steps to go to the bathroom and shower. Also if you have a seapap machine there is no electricity by the beds to plug into so you won't be able to use your seapap. Beautiful country

The description was unclear about the outdoor shower being at least 25 feet from covered porch-the toilet was also off the covered porch. The dogs on site were very friendly and did not bark when they approached us. Host was friendly and lives on site. Property featured interior solar powered lights as well as a very lit solar powered exterior lights. Mini kitchen equipped with propane stove and a mini fridge was perfect for quick meals. For couples wanting a little off grid living it would be perfect. Driving through roads were well over five miles to get to highway and since it rains quite often I would suggest renting an SUV to keep road water entering the vehicle. We experienced very low visibility and water ponding on roads which took extra time to get to property gate. Bed was a cozy queen mattress which I was hoping it would have been a king size to accommodate my larger frame fiancée
