Founder & Owner Vixen Hill Mfg. Co.
Chris Peeples purchased this house in 1963
Private yet convienient to just about everything.
We had a great time at Chris's home. Location was very good for day travels
Lovely area. It met all our needs and was well stocked...
This cottage was all we could have hoped for during our visit to the area for our daughter's wedding. It is in a beautiful location in the village of Yellow Springs, which had an Art Show underway, and yet the cottage itself was very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is very well equipped, an important feature for me since I made the wedding cake there. I enjoyed frosting it while glancing out of the windows at the flowering dogwoods. The washer and dryer are convenient to the upstairs bedrooms. There is good WiFi, indoor and outdoor lighting, and plenty of hot water. I look forward to return stays here. Thanks, Chris!
We really enjoyed our 10 week stay. We have already booked the house again for later in the summer. The home had everything we needed for an extended stay. There is an art school in town where my wife took lessons. You can walk to the library or a nice BYOB restaurant. While you are in a quiet country setting anything you need is only a 10 to 15 minute ride away. The owner Chris was always available and responsive to our needs or questions. The nicest part of our stay was the ability to take walks right out the front down on lovely country lanes. Also many trails for walking or hikes nearby. I would highly recommend this location as a base for the many sites to visit in the area.
My wife and I have stayed in every one of the owner's rental properties. He obviously works hard at creating a pleasant rental experience. This was our second time staying in this house, and I'm sure it won't be the last. The house is very well-equipped, spotless, and the immediate area is peaceful and has a fascinating history.
My wife and I felt at home as soon as we arrived even down to the wine on the wall (use and replace) just in case the weary traveler needs to sit on the front porch with a glass to recover.
We had a couple of issues but these were fixed and did not impact on our enjoyment of the home or the area. Follow the must do recommendations in the book and add the Mill at Anselma, especially when the y have an event on and the Wednesday farmers market.
Shopping, you can't go past Wegmans ... fantastic place for groceries.
Almost anything you'd want to do or see is within 1/2 hr drive. Skiing and ocean are within 1 1/2 hour drive. This area offers huge bird and animal varieties and numerous nearby historic sites and monuments. Additionally, there is a concentration of schools and colleges in the area exceeding anywhere in the country.
