In the heart of Mennonite country on the western outskirts of Mount Forest amongst hundreds of acres of farm land. No close neighbours. Our property is a small hobby farm on half an acre. Property has solar panels and a small flock of hens (no rooster!) This rustic cabin has a tin roof....great to listen to the gentle rain as it falls. Lots of windows to hear the rustle of the poplar trees blowing in the wind, the occasional yipping of coyotes in the distance and song birds in the morning. All materials in the construction of the cabin and outhouse are reclaimed from demolitions (plus momentoes from estates). The 2" thick floor planking came from an old school house, the outhouse door from a church and wall panelling from a local hotel. Located at the back of our property for full privacy. The picnic table and BBQ is enclosed in a 10' square netted and rain proof dining tent. Nearby are the abandoned RR tracks that go for miles! Great for biking, dog walking and hiking. Two golf courses within 10 miles. Riding stable nearby and fishing in our many streams in the area. (fishing equipment available). Cot and bedding available (for an extra fee) otherwise bring your own bedding and pillows....and food.
