With a bright interior with a fully equipped kitchen, cozy fireplace, all the amenities you could need for a breezy stay, and high-end finishings, there will be no need to sacrifice any comforts of home while away. After a dreamy day on the lake swimming, boating, kayaking, or fishing, returning home for a homecooked meal will be just the way to reminisce with loved ones about the fun that was had. The chef of the group will be in paradise with all new appliances and spacious countertops. Piney Retreat offers guests the convenience of a great separation between the bedrooms and the family area, providing even more privacy within the home. Not to mention, the furnished deck will be just the place to breathe in some fresh summer air with a favorite drink in hand.



WHAT’S NEARBY

If easy lake access is what you are after, this location is hard to beat, as the water is a block from your front door. Walk the opposite direction and you will find the trailhead to an extensive trail system that will be perfect for the hikers and bikers of the group to explore the surrounding area! Come winter, skiing is a short 12-mile drive away at the famous Northstar California Resort! Plus, when you want to check out the local restaurants and shops nearby, both Kings Beach and Carnelian Bay have their own unique places! Gar Woods Grill & Pier is a great dinner spot mere minutes from your front door.

We stayed for 5 nights.The house is lovely, kitchen is spacious and up to date. On the first night we plugged in provided space heater because the bedrooms in the back tend to be colder, and the circuit breaker tripped, leaving us without power in bedrooms and bathrooms. We tried to find the circuit panel to reset, it was not visible. I immediately contacted the provided number and after a few attempts to locate the panel it was determined it is probably in the garage which was not accessible and locked by the owner. So we were promised help the next day. After extensive back and forth texting, the help arrived around 2pm the next day to reset a breaker. Half of the day lost waiting. Meanwhile the snow was getting heavier and since we were not to use the garage - our car got completely snowed in the driveway and we were given one plastic shovel to deal with that. The snow plower comes through maybe once a day and only clears the street - dumping the snow on the sides and blocking the driveway. It took us at least 3 hours to clear the way for the car to get out. On day 3 the fireplace stopped working - and it is a major heat source for wet ski clothes as there is no washer/dryer. No help provided for the next few days until the end. House would be great with washer/dryer and better support.

Family Event

This property is great for a large gathering with multiple beds and plenty of seating in the open family room/ kitchen space. There is also a nice, large deck with table and chairs. For us it was centrally located for different activities, and near different grocery retailers and restaurants.

Love this place

This is out second time staying here, and we really like the property. The location is good, but getting here during winter conditions on the road could be tricky. Not a property owner fault of course, but this information for potential tenants

Nice location and property

House is updated and convenient location. However, it’s not matching the online description. There is no bunk bed. We are lucky that we have only 6 ppl otherwise it will not fit. We can’t use the garage so need to get our car from snow in the morning. There is no washer and dryer either so we can’t do laundry. Kitchen is big and nice. Bathroom is updated not bad. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Neighborhood is very quiet.

Cozy place- would recommend!

We were there with another family…great kitchen, had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, even had small shampoos and soap for use. Rooms were comfortable, we used the fans for air circulation. Very clean, easy to get to and plenty of parking. Only issues would be that we would have loved a grill and this was not walking distance to any beach.

Perfect home for a relaxing weekend

The place was fantastic, super clean, came with all the amenities that we could have asked for. We stayed over thanksgiving and since there was hardly any snow, we spent quite some time indoors. The home with all its amenities was ideal for us. The whole home has been recently remodeled and very tastefully done. It was super clean and Terry was very responsive to any questions we had.

Summer relaxation

Lovely and well kept home in a quiet, wooded neighborhood. This is a great place to spend quality time with family and friends. Easy drive to Tahoe City where there’s plenty to enjoy. Very clean house with everything we needed to enjoy our time here.

Great ski trip and awesome house

Clean, comfortable and good location

We spent the weekend cooking meals and spending time with the family. The location was good for us because it was close to Tahoe City and not too far from Sand Harbor. The house is very clean, the showers work well and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen living area was also comfortable and had everything we needed to cook meals. We initially thought that the combination for entry was wrong. However, we realized we were entering the wrong door. The garage side door is near the front door and it has a lock box. We finally realized that there was a different door and the correct entry is the electronic keyed lock. For us it was dark and the front door was not as easily visible as was the garage side door. So I Just wanted to mention this just in case someone else might have this issue getting in. We had a great time and would come back here again.

Loved the Piney Retreat!

We had a fantastic time at the Piney Retreat in Carnelian Bay. The house is beautifully renovated, comfortable (even in the hot summer weather)... a nice cool oasis to make a stopping point between our adventures in North Lake Tahoe.. The outdoor patio is also fantastic for hanging out/lounging.. The house has a wonderful floor plan with a great room (open well-stocked kitchen with dining and huge family area that facilitates playing games, eating)... The beds are very comfortable, and there is a nice separation between the bedrooms and the family area. We definitely recommend this property and would without a doubt stay here again!
