About this property

Log cabin 1 mile from Sunday River with hot tub, fireplace & Ping-Pong

Wonderfully located only one mile from the base of Sunday River Resort, this charming, spacious cabin provides a true escape in every season. Spend your days skiing or hiking in a classic Maine landscape and your evenings stargazing in the hot tub beneath a shimmering night sky.

This home sits on a quiet street in Newry, just down the road from several restaurants, recreational outfitters, and the base of Sunday River. In winter, you'll find snowshoe trails directly behind the house; come summer, those same trails are great for walking and lead to a lovely brook. Nearby, you can catch movies at The Gem Theater in Bethel (five miles), go swimming at Frenchman's Hole (six miles), or take a memorable hike up Old Speck Mountain (17 miles).

The house greets you back from your daily adventures with an abundance of log-cabin atmosphere. On summer evenings, linger outside to watch your kids play in the yard and light the gas grill for a barbecue dinner. Or, step inside and curl up in the warmth of the fireplace as the winter snow piles high outside.

The main living space is open and inviting, bringing together the living room, the dining room, and a kitchen with modern appliances (including a wine fridge) and an island breakfast bar. After dinner each evening, gather for movies and board games in the den or test your skills at Ping-Pong.

All four bedrooms have beds carved from natural logs, including one bedroom with its own desk workspace where you can log onto the complimentary WiFi in peace. A private washer/dryer is provided for your convenience as well.

Amazing location, adorable and comfortable house

This house was absolutely perfect for our family/friend unit for the week of February vacation. We enjoyed the great kitchen, the hot tub and the basement for the kids. It was perfect and you can’t beat the proximity to the mountain.

A+ house / C- Vacasa management

House is awesome and location is perfect. But there are no home instructions and if you need anything/have questions prepare to spend hours texting a bot that just tells you the same obvious thing over and over again.
