Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, family vacation, or peaceful retreat in nature, Sturgeon Valley Retreat is the ideal place to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories. Guests have full access to the property on both sides of the river, including several trails, offering plenty of space to explore and enjoy nature. Please note that the parked vehicle and all outbuildings are not accessible to guests. These structures contain personal items from previous ownership, and we are gradually organizing and improving these areas.
The property is maintained in a natural, low-intervention style, with minimal lawn and garden upkeep to preserve the rustic Northwoods setting. Also worth noting, we are still working on property clean up from the ice storm which caused some downed trees and branches. Plenty of free wood for fires around the cabin- please help yourself! As this is a wooded riverfront location, guests are encouraged to bring bug spray for added comfort, especially during warmer months. Guests should also have a 4x4 vehicle to access the property during winter months. It is approximately 300 yards from the road.
-Due to the property's natural, wooded setting in Northern Michigan, seasonal pest / bug activity is an inherent environmental reality that we proactively manage.
Pets are welcome only with disclosure and pet fee. Please add them to the reservation. Guests who bring a pet that is not on the reservation risk termination of the rental without reimbursement.
River Bridge, Canoes and River use are at your own risk. River Bridge has twisted due to the ice storm- stable but it is not flat Please use caution.
Late Check Outs / Early Check ins are available for a fee with prior approval. Please message regarding these options.
