Excellent and quiet spot in convenient location
We had an excellent stay at this Ae Botti apartment on Giudecca. We wanted to be a bit out of the way and in a quieter location, and this was perfect. Staying on Giudecca is not inconvenient; from this apartment it is just a few steps to a vaporetto stop that will take you directly across the water to Venice's central islands.
Mr. Massimo Comin, the owner, was also extremely accommodating and helpful. At one point he even brought an ironing board at our request. He also provided us with delicious meals at his own restaurant, and at a generous discount as we were staying in his property. He is a very pleasant and helpful host; I cannot recommend him enough.
In addition to everything you do on the main islands of Venice, Giudecca has some wonderful restaurants of its own. If you just want to relax and be out of the way part of the time, you can stroll along the front of the island and have your pick of a number of great places to eat. Mr. Massimo's family owns two such restaurants and they are both very close to the apartment.
Mosquitoes are a terrible nuisance in Venice generally. Thankfully this apartment had an A/C unit, which, once activated, eliminated mosquito activity inside the bedroom. Still keep an eye out for them in the bathroom! (This is typical no matter where you stay in Venice.)
This place is more than an apartment; it is a full home (in a building connected to all the adjacent homes). It is small, but not small by Venetian standards. Perfect for a couple.
