Additional Important Information
Meppen is an old fortified town and also the seat of the Emsland district administration.
Here you’ll find plenty of shopping options, a very nice pedestrian zone, a post office, banks, restaurants, cafes, a hospital, medical specialists, pharmacies, schools, kindergartens, an indoor swimming pool, a cinema, a train station, as well as diverse waterways, extensive forests, and nature reserves—plenty of places to visit and cultural activities.
The A31 highway junction—the fast north-south connection to the North Sea and the Ruhr region—is about a 15-minute drive away.
The accommodation is an ideal starting point for extended biking or hiking tours through the Emsland region, with its exceptionally well-developed network of bike paths, as well as along the Hase and Ems rivers.
