Cayman Paradise

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have been to the Caymans many times, and I have never stayed at a more peaceful and relaxing location. The Retreat grounds are very well-kept and clean. When you walk in the condo, you first notice the amazing view of the beach just outside the generous screened-in porch. The condo itself it well furnished and very spacious; more than enough room for the whole family.

The bedrooms are well-appointed and have everything you need. All have en-suite bathrooms. The upstairs bedroom is an incredible sanctuary. The room itself is huge, but the balcony overlooking the beach is arguably the best part of the rental. With loungers, a table and chairs, and flawless views of the sunset; it doesn't get much better.

The beach is perfection; no rocks, just white sand. The complex provides plenty of beach chairs and tables for relaxing on the beach. About a minute walk takes you to the Rum Point Wreck Beach Bar + Restaurant. Food is delicious and the drinks are incredible. I would recommend the Electric Margarita on the rocks or the Peach Daiquiri.

Gigi, the manager of The Retreat, was very helpful. And the staff of The Retreat were very kind and respectful. Even the construction workers were super nice!!

I cannot wait to come back here! Don't hesitate in booking this rental, I promise, you will not regret it.

Perfect Location and Beautiful Views!

  • 5 of 5

This was our fifth visit to the Caymans and this is the best place that we have stayed. The view is one of the best that you will find anywhere. The sunsets are spectacular. We spent two wonderful weeks relaxing and enjoying the beach and views from the screened porch. We sat on the beach at night and did some stargazing – what an incredible view.

Having Rum Point with all of its amenities close by was perfect for our two teenage boys. The condo has everything that you need and we ate several meals in the condo. There are a couple of grocery stores within a few miles where you can get some basics but you may want to stop at Hurleys or Fosters to get other things. Fosters has a deli with pre-prepared meals that are excellent and you can just heat it up.

The snorkeling is some of the best that we have every experienced and it is right outside of the condo. We took the kayak out to the buoy in front of the condo every day and snorkeled back using the kayak as our “flag” as there are a lot of boats around. Our boys did quite a bit of fishing outside of the condo and caught several interesting fish.

Gigi was very helpful and responsive. There was scaffolding outside of the screened porch when we got there and when I mentioned it to Gigi, it was promptly removed.

If you enjoy the quiet and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown and the 7 mile beach, I would highly recommend this condo and location. We will be back!!!

Outstanding Condo and Peaceful Location

  • 5 of 5

What a place! We have had the opportunity to visit a number of oceanfront places and every time we booked something we wondered what it would really be like. Not to worry here. In fact, this is, by far the best place we have ever stayed at. The location is literally a few steps from a large and beautiful beachfront area with calm ocean waters. Some of the best snorkeling we have ever experienced was right out front of the condo. It was so easy and convenient to simply grab the snorkeling gear and wade into the warm Caribbean water. In addition to many kinds and colors of fish, we saw stingrays, eels, and beautiful coral. It did not matter where you went, you saw sea life and in extremely shallow waters (mostly less than 5 feet). We had our children along and because of the calm shallow waters they snorkeled more than any other place we’ve been.

In addition to the ideal waterfront location, the condo itself was outstanding. The 3 large bedrooms all had their own bathrooms. Both upper and lower living areas are spacious with large deck areas that have incredible views of the ocean from east to west. The decks allowed for lots of flexibility. The third floor deck was open for late afternoon sunset views and while the second level deck allowed great closed in opportunities for coffee, reading, and breakfast.

The long and short of this place was that we have never before found such ocean access combined with such beautiful living space. And if that wasn’t enough, the location is literally a hundred yards from the pier that takes you to Stingray City and other ocean activities. There are also several eating establishments and a gift shop.

This place has it all. We are already figuring out when we can get back there. It won’t be soon enough! The only regret about this place is that it will make all other places we visit look bad. Good problem to have.

Perfect!!!!

  • 5 of 5

As this was our first trip to the Cayman, we didn't really know where to stay. Our friends recommended Rum Point, The Retreat and we could not be happier! The location was perfect for the kids as the water was shallow and we can see fish everywhere. It was close to star fish point, sting ray city and restaurants. As for the condo, it was amazing! It is away from the busy scene like 7 miles beach. You will need a car as it is about 45 mins from the airport but was worth it. The view from the living and the bedrooms was fabulous. Every morning waking up to that ocean view was so relaxing. The condo had every thing you needed even sunscreen, mosquito spray, floats, and kids toys. Our kids called it their "New Home." I loved that we can sit in the patio when it got too hot for the kids during the day. David (owner) and GiGi (property management) were great to deal with and very responsively. The condo was very clean and had extra bed sheets, towels, etc. We would definitely recommend this place and would return!

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded our expectations. Our family of 7 ranged in age from 19 to 55.

The layout was perfect for us, tons of room and very comfortable. The views are simply amazing, the deck upstairs is were we spent most of the time for meals and evening cocktails. The staff are very helpful, friendly and always ready to help as we found out when the water main was broken by the road work crew. Without water for about 24 hours (goes under the heading stuff happens...)we were provided with bottled water and rides to a very close shower and bathroom. The property is well equipped , could use some new cookware, not a big deal as we made some fabulous meals during our stay.

This is our second trip to CG first was to SMB. This is a completely different stay, totally relaxing and we were able to explore much more of the eastern end of GC. We still took the drive to some of our favorite spots in West Bay too.

Do your shopping before you head over from the airport, there is not very much close by.

I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from the crowds.

Impressive condo, views and beach!

  • 5 of 5

The unit was simply fantastic! It was perfect for my family of 2 children (ages 1 1/2 and 3), my parents and a family friend. The unit itself is huge and well appointed. The views are unobstructed and so relaxing. We ate every meal on the screened patio overlooking the water and enjoyed watching both the sunrise and sunset from the beach. Although the Rum Point restaurant and bar are expensive, it's next door location was very convenient. You do need a car to access other restaurants or attractions. Although driving is on the opposite side of the road, it's very easy and there isn't much traffic. The beach is steps away from the condo and was perfect for my little ones. The water was calm, shallow, clear and every night a little sting ray would hang out there. We took a glass bottom boat ride from Rum Point to sting ray city which was very convenient and a must! The residents and condo management where extremely friendly and helpful. We hope to be back and enjoy this amazing condo and location!!!
