Mas de Tarnie - what a wonderful place! The family had a splendid holiday here three years ago, and this time it was even better. This beautiful house now has a new conservatory, giving us an even better view over the garden, which is as lovely as ever, with plenty of room for the (heated!) pool and all the games which kept the children busy all the time.
There were 12 of us, with me (Grandma) down to the six year old. And it suited all of us. We never got under each other's feet, because there is so much space. I had a nice room on the ground floor, almost like my own flat, with bathroom and loo really close..
The house is very well equipped, with big comfy sofas and colourful paintings and a splendid kitchen. It was fun doing the shopping at the big Intermarché at Jacou, not far away.
In Montpellier, the energetic people did a Segway tour, whilst the others enjoyed ice creams in the Place de la Comédie, watching acrobats and musicians. It's a lovely, lively city with a fascinating historical centre. You can explore further afield, to medieval Aigues Mortes and St. Guilhem le Désert, and to the Pont du Diable, where Dad lost a shoe in the river last time....Then home to the calm and peace of our Mas.
The house and grounds are very well maintained, and our hosts were extremely welcoming and efficient. Oh what a perfect holiday!
