The surrounding towns, with their harbors, museums, and thatched-roof houses typical of the region, are also worth a visit. Especially in the summer, there’s a wide variety of events, including concerts, the traditional “Tonnenabschlagen” barrel-breaking ceremony, the medieval market in Dierhagen, and small local markets.
