Cozy, peaceful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this cute and cozy unit for the month of August with my small dog and two cats while I looked for a long term rental. The owner is very nice and accommodating and the in town manager is available for any issue that may arise. Both of these women are awesome and made my stay more enjoyable and relaxing. The unit is beautifully furnished and has everything you need. I loved hearing the sea lions every night and it's close to everything! This was a great introduction to Astoria :-)

Great place to stay, will be coming back

  • 5 of 5

The room was in great shape. The location was ideal, as it was walking distance to the downtown area, yet out of the way from busy downtown traffic. Safeway is less than a 5 minute walk if you need anything. The best part about this rental is the view overlooking the mouth of the Columbia!

About Joana Olaru

Health care professional/businesswoman born in Europe and living in Portland, bought the house with the desire to retire in Astoria, away from the frantic life-style of a bigger city.

Loved restoring - what used to be a historical - 1904 Victorian and learning about the rich history of Astoria.

Joana Olaru purchased this condo in 2006

Why Joana Olaru chose Astoria

This Old Victorian house speaks to my soul. My husband and I love going to the coast for a weekend to relax, refresh and rejuvenate.

What makes this condo unique

Laid back life style – away from the big city, but still a vital community all year long with a stunning architecture reminiscing of San Francisco; Victorian houses (you will be vacationing in one ) – rich history, proximity to a magnificent body of water – the great Columbia; really close drive to beaches – 15 min to Fort Stevens, 20 minutes to Cannon Beach – you can drive every day to another beach and come back home to relax.

Astoria (at the mouth of the Columbia) is known for its restaurants, festivals, shopping and antiquing. Astoria (and its surroundings) has a wonderful balance between man and nature.
