About Dan & Sherry Robb

We moved here from NW Iowa in 2002. We are empty nesters with a home we love to entertain in. We like to Hike, ride 4 wheelers, ride our HD motorcycle, and just take in the hills attractions. We love to Geo Cache because you never know where that will take you but one thing about it there is usually a breath taking view involved.

Dan & Sherry Robb purchased this house in 2008

Why Dan & Sherry Robb chose Black Hills

We love this 2 acre property and want to share our home and let you experience what the Black Hills has to offer. We have forest service access right around the corner with a spectacular view and quiet setting with lots of wildlife to observe. On 4th of July there are plenty of fireworks to watch right here.

What makes this house unique

When the heat of the summer peaks you can plan on at least 10 degrees cooler up here compared to town and in the winter we have inversions that often we are 10 degrees warmer than town. Enough trees cover to lessen the winds that you will experience in other areas.

Peaceful, beautiful stay

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here for three nights and loved the gorgeous views and peaceful setting. We also had a great time playing pool in the evening after exploring the area. The hosts were helpful, quick with communication and made themselves available if we needed anything (and they had delicious brownies waiting for us when we arrived - a nice touch!) Super clean and had everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay - would highly recommend to others!

Exactly as described and so much more

  • 5 of 5

Sherry and Dan were the perfect hosts. The bottom floor of their home was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and so very quiet. We loved staying there. When we got there a cherry cheesecake was in the fridge for us and homemade jam...and water and chocolates beside the bed.

The first morning we woke up to 2 fawns, 3 doe, 3 buck, a rabbit and a flock of wild turkeys all in the yard at the same time. It is located in the perfect spot, right in the middle to where almost everything we wanted to do was an hour away.

We loved every minute of it and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for quiet nature. We fell in love with South Dakota and hope to return someday soon. We'll definitely be staying here.

Clean and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 stayed at this location and it was a great base camp for all of the Black Hill's attractions. The hosts were wonderful and the sweet treat upon arrival was amazing. We saw Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, rented ATV's in Sturgis, hiked Harney Peak, saw Devils Tower, went horseback riding and enjoyed family time. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Great location, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

The hosts were super helpful. and easy to work with

The location is 15 minutes or so away from the bustle of the city so we watched wild turkeys and deer in the yard and had great sunset views. The kitchen is well-stocked and the bed is wonderfully soft.

It is a great place to relax and use as a base camp to see the many sites in the area.

I would highly recommend it.

Great!

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous home away from home with a location that can't be beat-10 minutes from grocery stores, gas, etc.and within an hour's ride to Mt. Rushmore, Custer, Keystone, Crazy Horse and other beautiful spots. The view of the hills is amazing. EVERYTHING is here for relaxing-games, tv, music, a pool table! The large kitchen is fully equipped and a pleasure to cook in. The bedroom is comfy and there are towels galore in the bathroom. Sherry and Dan are terrific hosts. What a surprise to find a home made pie, jams, coffees and water in the refrigerator, not to mention water and chocolate at bedside! Don't hesitate to stay here.

Awesome place!

  • 5 of 5

Located in a beautiful setting overlooking the city and surrounded by pine trees.

The owners have gone way beyond what I expected. They even brought us a delicious pie. There were also so many things furnished in the kitchen to cook with.

If we ever go back to this area I wouldn't want to stay any where else.
