This was a convenient location in a part of town where it's hard to find lodgings. The neighborhood was lovely and we felt safe. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was ready for use. The ceilings in this basement apartment are VERY low, and my 6'4" tall husband had to stoop to keep from hitting his head. We also noticed that the sounds from the family in the house above us were quite noticeable: footsteps, conversations, someone playing the piano. None of this is a deal-breaker, just things to keep in mind.
The listing was as described. Place was clean. One of the complaints i do have is, they should list about the low entry way into the apt. Also there is no hand railing to the downstairs apt and there was upstairs noise often. No communication with the host other than the initial check in.Otherwise cute, clean place!
I loved the neighborhood as it was filled with beautiful and unique houses and mature trees. It was only a 9 block walk to the University of Minnesota St. Paul campus or a quick entry to the freeway. The house was filled with everything one needs when traveling including a well-stocked kitchen.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with ample parking. We also enjoyed the Finnish Bistro that is within walking distance. Since the family lives above the basement unit, there can be noises heard above you at night like chairs scraping, people walking and noise from T.V.
Check in was super easy with a code for a lockbox for the key. This basement apartment was well furnished and very clean. It was located in a beautiful neighborhood with lots of trees and flower gardens. I loved the sweet sidewalk path up to Como Ave.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
I mean, the guy seemed nice enough, bit overly aggressive though. Im really tall, and i honestly mustve busted my head against half of the roofs and other low hanging things around the basement property. I wouldn't advise staying here if your any taller than 5'6 though, or you'll probably leave with a headache.Good neighborhood though!
A perfect space for our weekend in MSP. Beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood, with very accommodating hosts— we booked our stay on very short notice. Nonetheless Robert and his family welcomed us into their clean spacious unit. Would certainly book again. Ps We were also extremely lucky to meet their adorable golden retriever :).
Host was accommodating, place was clean and comfortable, location was quiet, adequate for what we needed for our short stay. Only part that was a let down was the listing said it was a 15 minute walk to the U of M which was a big part of why we booked. It was more like a 15 minute drive.

Thanks for the feedback Julie, it was great to have you as guests. I'm sorry for any confusion about our location. Google maps says we are .6 miles or 14 min. walk to the University of MN Saint Paul campus. Most of our University of MN guest visits are related to this part of the campus.
Thanks again!

Enjoyed our return stay
Just what what our family needed for a 4 night stay. Plenty of room for our family of 4. Close proximity to where we needed to go and a safe and quiet neighborhood.
Nice home in quiet neighborhood. A few restaurants within walking distance and a small grocery store nearby. The basement is a basement with not much sunlight, but it has a kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms.
We enjoyed the cozy accommodations, easy check-in/check-out for our short stay. It was easily accessible to shops, restaurants, coffee shops and a small grocery as well. It had everything we needed and would highly recommend to others.
This is my second time staying here, but it’s a great space with easy access to the businesses on Como Street and Luther Seminary. Place was neat, hosts were friendly, hope to rent again next time I’m in the twin cities.
The property was as cozy, clean and convenient as advertised. Right near a host of great restaurants in a quiet and safe neighborhood. For anyone who has business at either nearby Luther Seminary or the University of Minnesota the location is "perfect"!
