Linda and Kurt, the owner-operators of Bailèn 41, moved permanently to Barcelona in 2013 after trying out various places in Latin America, including Buenos Aires, Argentina, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where we also owned and managed short-term rentals.

When we travel, we like to stay in apartments because of the flexibility, convenience, and value-added they provide. We're sensitive to those special touches that make the difference between a short-term rental and a real vacation home, especially those involving cleanliness and order. The unit is immaculately maintained and comes stocked with everything you need to immediately plunge into Barcelona living: we've got you covered with everything from bath products (including ample supplies of high-quality toilet paper) to kitchen supplies (coffee, milk, juice, bread, cold cuts and cheese, etc.)

The best short term rental

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for 10 days. We have traveled a lot and rented many apartments here and at Airbnb. This is the best one out of dozens we have stayed in. Everything about this apartment is top class. The best location, the most comfortable, the most gracious and thoughtful host. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, which enabled us to explore the local markets and do a little cooking.

The absolutely best experience!

We are highly experienced travelers with vrbo. Linda (the owner) was highly responsive to our email queries before arrival. She met us at the apartment exactly as agreed, walked us through its many excellent features and amenities (and Linda had a terrific welcome food surprise for us, too!), and reviewed her valuable information binder. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, very well constructed; its location is very convenient, safe, and quiet. During our stay Linda emailed to be sure that everything was as we wanted, and even sent us information on the local events that week. Upon departure she scheduled an early morning taxi pickup for us to the airport. She and her apartment were perfect! 5+ stars!

Linda’s apartment is everything and more. It is a perfect home for vacationing in a great city. The apartment has everything you need. Linda met us at arrival and was gracious and brave to wake up early to come and bid farewell. We were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by a week. We cannot reccommend this place enough. The location is also perfect, within walking distance of all of the places one would like to visit and night clubs. I can go on and on about the place. If you come to Barcelona, Bailen 41 should be the first place you try to book. Thank you Linda for providing such an amazing place.

Not enough stars....

All of Barcelona at your doorstep! This apartment delivers style and comfort aplenty with the added benefit of being in a perfect location. All of the most wonderful things to see and do are within walking distance and there is a metro stop on the corner for anything farther afield. This was our second stay (the first for 3 months in 2016) and we were so happy to be back in our Barcelona home. Especially with the newly re-done bathroom which includes a huge shower, great lighting and lots of storage. The brightest star of this property is your concierge, Linda. She knows everything about the city and can assist with obtaining tickets to events or suggest day trips, if you have time. As I said in my last review, come to Barcelona for as long as you can, and when you do, stay here. You won't regret either.

Can't wait to return to this perfect property

Everything about this apartment is perfect, especially the welcome we received on our arrival. The fridge was thoughtfully stocked with a lovely assortment of food and beverages. The apartment itself is spacious and well laid out. All of the amenities are modern. The temperature controls were just updated so we were able to keep very comfortably cool which is especially important to us at night. The location of this property is ideal. We were able to walk to the Gothic Quarter and to the downtown areas and to the Port easily -- nothing seemed to be more than 25 minutes away. There are restaurants and grocery stores everywhere in the neighborhood. Honestly, I cannot think of a single negative thing to nitpick. This is a definite "come back" apartment! Thank you to Linda for such a wonderful stay in Barcelona :)

The best apartment in Barcelona

We are lucky to have travelled a lot in the last few years and have rented a lot of apartments, many of them lovely. But this is the best experience we have had. It is not just that the apartment is beautifully decorated, pristinely clean and in a great location that makes this 5 star - that could also describe other apartments we have rented. What makes it so special is Linda’s desire to make staying in her apartment a wonderful experience for her guests. It begins with the amount of information she provides that ensures your stay in Barcelona runs smoothly - guide books, pamphlets and her own notes. Next, when she leaves, you realise how incredibly generous she has been in provisioning the apartment - there is wine, cheese, bread, fruit, small bottles of water that you can refill and take on your day trips ... And that is not an incomplete list. Suffice to say we did not shop for anything other than ‘top ups’. She provides L’Occitane products for you to use in the bathroom(!) which Scenic provide on their very expensive cruises. And just small things - a clothes drying rack, a night light in the bathroom, LOTS of coat hangers. And best, I always knew that if I needed her help she would be there. So if you are in the position I was in several months ago and you are wondering where you can stay in Barcelona and are reading this review - book Linda’s apartment now!
