Family Friendly Country Lodge 15 Minutes Away from Waterton Lakes National Park

Rocky Ridge Country Lodge (15 minutes East of Waterton Lakes National Park), is nestled in the small ranching community of Mountain View. Located two country blocks North of highway 5 on four acres; with plenty of room for outside activities such as lawn bowling, bocce ball, horseshoes, or volleyball etc.
Rocky Ridge is ideal for small family reunions, retreats, hiking groups, and the like.

A full lodge booking is $700 - $955 per night plus taxes (9%). Minimum 2 night stay in the winter and minimum 4 night stay in the summer. If extra rooms are needed we have a 3 bed/1 bath cottage with full kitchen and living room available to rent. (sleeps 6)
The Lodge has 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, pool table, table tennis, 6 person hot tub, pay per use laundry, satellite TV and DVD player in living room, WiFi, fire pit, barbeque on large deck with outdoor table and chairs, and swing set with slide.
Sheets and towels are provided as well as garbage bags, toilet paper and hand soap.

We know you will enjoy our country lodge with its beautiful mountain views and peaceful surrounds. It will become your home away from home.

Family Friendly Country Lodge in Mountain View Alberta
We had a wonderful family vacation at this lodge. There was plenty of room for all of us and lots to do near this quiet retreat. We hiked visited a spray park and had great food in nearby Waterton Park. We played yard games hot tubbed and roasted marshmallows in the beautifully landscaped yard and property deck. We swam and played at nearby Payne lake and even took in a great play at The Carraige House Theatre in nearby Cardston. We all agreed best family vacation ever and we will be back...

Beautiful Vacation Spot
Our city kids loved the huge yard for playing, and the house was so spacious for our family of 16. We were sad that we weren't able to stay longer. The proximity to Waterton was wonderful. We needed more time for exploring. Another year hopefully!

AMAZING space
When we showed up we were shocked how amazing this space was. It was way larger than we thought and FULLY stocked!! Crock pots, skillets, playpens, high chairs, basic spices, lap blankets, games, books... the list goes on. The beds and sheets were the best we've ever slept in. The space was so large and perfect for all our kids to run around. We loved the kitchen setup for our group. A serving area, fully stocked kitchen, lots of tables. The owner was great for helping out with any questions we had. We HIGHLY recommend this property!!

Beautiful property in a beautiful location
Spent the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend with family. 9 adults & 7 children from 4 to 12 years old. Plenty of space, beds and baths for all the families. Josh the owner was very helpful in updating us on what to expect once we got there. Plenty of everything you need to feed families like ours. And everything in excellent working condition. Ping pong / pool table, large deck for outdoor activities, hot tub, etc. And not to mention only a few minutes from Watertown National Park. I would not hesitate to book for another family or friends getaway.

Excellent retreat
Our hiking group goes away each year to experience hiking away from Banff/Kananaskis region. We found this home to be clean, quiet, well equipped and very comfortable. The grounds are well kept with lush greenery and abundant flowers-hard to do in this hot dry summer. The host was friendly and provided good customer service. I would refer this property to friends looking for a perfect getaway just outside of WatertonNational Park.

Amazing getaway home!
We stayed in this house for a week, with 10 adults and 5 kids (age 12,3,2,1,baby) There was fun had by all. The pool/ping pong table and hot tub were a huge hit. The house had everything you could need. There was so many details for the country home feel! The location was easy to find and reasonably close to tourist places (waterton, frankslide, lundbreck falls.) the yard had lots of space to play sports and we even built a 10ft snow man. The owners were very friendly, easy to deal with and respectful of our space and privacy. I highly recommend this property and would consider staying here again.

Wonderful Property
We had a group of 19 adults stay three nights at this cabin, and it perfectly suited our needs! All of our concerns beforehand, with such are a large group, were easily dealt with by how well set-up the property is: there was a large and well set-up kitchen, a huge amount of space for eating, tons of room for socializing without feeling cramped, and all the sleeping areas (on the upper floor) were in a great location so that people could easily sleep without being disturbed. The cabin is located close to Waterton National Park and the US border, which allowed for an assortment of day trips of all sorts, and is reasonably close to a grocery store if needed. Would definitely recommend this cabin for groups of 15-20, and we look forward to hopefully coming back in the future!

Winning Accommodations for a Family Weekend Get-together
We met for a long weekend together, (family of 9 adults and 7 kids, 13 and under)...a rainy May weekend, but in spite of being indoors, the spaciousness of Rocky Ridge kept us from feeling cooped up. The kids loved all the nooks and places to get away and play. We enjoyed the hot tub, the cozy fire in the fireplace, and the pool table/ping pong table. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds and bedding were comfortable. In between rain showers we were able to drive to Waterton and hike Bears' Hump. We even saw a black bear! It was such a good weekend that everyone was enthusiastic to meet here again next year! Thanks Josh!

Great Property
We stayed at the property for 4 days and 3 nights. 7 adults and 7 kids under the age of 8. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the house and the surrounding property. We found the location to be a quick and easy drive into Waterton where we spent time each day. The property was fully outfitted with everything we could possibly need. The owners were extremely accommodating and very easy to deal with. We will certainly be back for another visit next year.

Waterton rumble
Yes we stayed at the lodge for 3 nights with our families 9 adults and 5 children from ages 18 months old to 9 year old . The accommodation was excellent . We loved the sound proof rooms when the children were in bed the adults could play games and not have to worry about the noise level. The kitchen was well equipt loved the new dishwasher. The rooms and beds were comfortable loved the easy excess to the bathrooms . The rec room was fun for all ages . The outdoors /yard was spaceious loved the horse Pip that was a big highlight for the kids . The owner Josh was kind and wanting to make sure that our stay was a delight . Thank you josh . I would strongly recommend staying at rocky ridge mountain view .

I would recommend this accomodation for any group of family or friends looking to get away together with lots of space to enjoy and spread out! Spacious, very clean & owners were fantastic! There were 9 of us there for our annual Family Day getaway and it was perfect, from hot tub to pool table.

Fantastic place for all ages!
We rented the lodge and cottage for a family reunion. There were 17 of us aging in age from 6 months to 60 plus! Kids loved playing all over the BIG house...hide and seek, hiding stuff, and sleeping in a loft or in their own room (3 single beds)! Meals were wonderful with opportunity to eat in small groups or large groups, with or without kids:) A dishwasher would have been nice, but there were good bonding times with washing and drying together! It would be good to have one empty cupboard to put our food supplies in. Hot tub was popular, fire pit and so much room for kids to run around. Bocce ball, a swing set...a horse to pet and watch! Big Alberta skies and convenient distance to Waterton National Park. The owner was great! We loved having the cottage for one of our families who had a toddler and a small baby! A great home away from home in a most beautiful location!

Awesome!!!
We rented the lodge for a family reunion. It was awesome!!! Lots of space, the rooms were great, and we loved it. Everyone enjoyed the pool/ping pong table, hot tub, outdoor fire pit, swing set, and the spacious yard. The kids thought the loft bedrooms were the best, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils, and there was ample seating for dinner time. We were only a short drive to Waterton National Park. The owner Josh was great to work with, and happy to help out with any needs. We would recommend this lodge to anyone.

Tons of room inside and out
As you can tell from the pictures,this is an incredible older large house with a nicely designed large addition. We were 10 adults from Sask and BC and initially booked Rocky Ridge Country Lodge for it's central location. Having 5 comfortable queen beds and 5 bathrooms is also very important to us,as well as having room at the dining table for 10.By the end of the first day we realized the Ridge had all of this and more.While sitting in the hot tub watching the sun go down,listening to the old piano and watching my buddies playing pool inside, I tried to remember the complaint I had heard earlier but couldn't. The next day we realized how much lawn space we had for all our games and wished we had brought a frissbee.The fire pit is great on a cool evening and we were 20 minutes from Waterton. All the bedrooms are upstairs,very comfortable and so very interestingly decorated. Josh and his family live very close and he was great at filling our every need. All 10 of us enjoyed ourselves and these special accommodations. Still trying to remember the complaint,must have been the lack of a dishwasher but with 10 adults we took turns...no problem.

Great Rental for Reasonable Rate!
We rented the entire Rocky Ridge Country Lodge and the Cabin for a three-day family reunion, and this is the second time we've come back here. The accommodations were great and there was lots of room for 25 people (19 adults, 6 kids). The lodge is large enough that we could spread out, but it still felt cozy. There is a great room for gathering, as well as a large outside deck. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a large dining room. There's a pool table and hot tub. The yard is spacious, with a swing set and play area for the kids. The flowers around the house are beautiful and gives it a country charm. The fire pit area is inviting. We utilized the cabin as well, and found it very charming and comfortable, with three bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room. The owner Josh was very accommodating and was able to answer all my questions; he promptly returned emails and phone calls. All this and it's close to Waterton National Park!

Great for multiple families!
We had 8 adults and 9 kids, 4 families. Everyone had lots of space, the kids loved the pool table/ping pong table, the playground and huge yard. We all enjoyed the hot tub. The view from the deck was beautiful, watched the sunset every evening, the horse next door was friendly and liked having his picture taken. Short drive to Waterton Lakes National Park, the town of Waterton, and other sites in the area. Kitchen was well equipped, lots of room for everyone in dining room. It was above 30 degrees Celsius when we were there, and the bedrooms upstairs were hot.

Overall a great house but would benefit from a few adjustments.
Pros: Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and common areas. You can certainly have your own private space when you need it. Extensive grounds for kids and adults to play on which are very well maintained. Ample parking. Beautiful setting close to Waterton. The kitchen is very well stocked and cooking for large groups was easy. Lots of seating in the dining area and outside on the deck. There is a playground and store within walking distance. Cons: There is no dishwasher. With a large group like ours (17) that was unfortunate as we were constantly doing dishes. There doesn't seem to be a "No Vacancy" sign anywhere so despite having rented the place, there were 3 occasions when guests approached the house while we were there. Lastly, there are nick-nacks everywhere, which is part of the rustic charm, but they are also dusty and despite the house being generally clean, there was still a fair amount of dust and 2 in our group suffered from allergic reactions. There is only A/C in half of the bedrooms. With a few minor adjustments, this place would be fantastic.

Exceeded Expectations
We were having a Art Retreat in Waterton and needed space for a lot of adults and youth. Rocky Ridge exceeded all of our expectations. Josh was very easy to e-mail with about any questions we had, he returned our e-mails immediately. The Lodge and Cabin were beautiful, spacious, clean, and felt like home. Everyone enjoyed their time and wanted to stay far longer. A lot of our youth even requested that we "stay forever in this mansion". It was a beautiful to be there and would definitely consider coming back, it is no wonder they book so ahead of time. If you get a chance to go to Waterton with a larger group of people I strongly recommend Rocky Ridge Lodge, there was plenty of space in the living room, dinning room, outside and all through the house. Definitely recommend this for a Getaway with family or friends.

Amazing and Memorable Experience
We booked this rental as a family of 24 people, 18 adults and 6 kids/infants, to celebrate a family members milestone birthday. We had such an amazing time at Rocky Ridge. Josh and his family are very welcoming and extremely accommodating. The layout is wonderful with everyone having their own space in their rooms. We cooked all our meals in the well stocked kitchen and on the BBQ. The kids loved the playground set and open grassy area where they were able to run around and play. The firepit and hot tub are bonuses to this wonderful property.

Perfect Rental
Myself and 10 friends decided to rent this property for a weekend getaway. The many positive reviews and photos of the beautiful property swayed me to book it and I was not disappointed in the least bit. The house is set in an amazing location; right on the doorstep of Waterton Lakes National Park, and it provides plenty of privacy as it is a large and well kept property with views of the adjacent mountain range. Outside, the property is kept in immaculate shape and the large yard provides plenty of space for outdoor games and activities. Furthermore, there is a hot tub and fire pit, both of which are in excellent condition, to keep you warm while you enjoy the great outdoors. Inside, the house is furnished with all the comforts and conveniences you could want. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with every appliance/tool you could need to make a gourmet meal. There is a large dinning area to accommodate groups both large and small. The bedrooms are all comfortably furnished and the many bathrooms are functional and clean. In adjoining rooms there is a pool/ping pong table, a large flat screen TV with a full satellite package and plenty of comfortable couches and chairs strewn throughout that ensures that everyone will have a place to lounge and relax. There is even a piano, surrounded by potted plants tucked away into a small room on the corner of the house! All of this coupled with the amazing hospitality and customer service provided by the owners, as well as the very reasonable rate (if you have a large group the cost per person is very affordable) ensures that you will have an great time during your stay at Rocky Ridge Mountain View Lodge.

CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS!
We had a family reunion here and it was amazing! We had ample room to visit and play and the privacy for individual families. A beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains, wild flowers, sunsets, quiet, and starry nights make this the perfect place to reconnect. They have a large yard with a fire pit . The lodge has lots of room, a pool table, full kitchen that allowed us to cook if we needed to. IThe rooms were very clean and comfortable. The whole lodge is very clean and inviting as is the yard. It is off the main highway and away from busy roads. it is also very close to Waterton Park so you can go see the sites there. We all enjoyed our stay there and plan on making it a family tradition.

We have lived in this area for ten years and have been in the tourism industry for the past 15 years. We love Rocky Ridge and the Rocky Mountain so this is the prefect place for us. We have three children Aiden 4, Ella 2 and Evan 2 months. I am sure you will meet them while you are here. They love our guests and will gladly take you on a tour of our gardens and green house. We enjoy the arts and Josh helps out as much as he can at the local theater building set and performing in the shows. That may be another thing that you would love to take in while you are staying with us is the Carriage House Theater. We know you will enjoy Rocky Ridge as much as we do. We look forward to meeting you and making your stay the very best.

Why they chose this property

I have always loved Rocky Ridge. My brother bought it over 20 years ago but sold it to buy a lodge in Waterton. Ever since then we have wanted it back. Six years ago we did get it back and we are so happy. It will be your home away from home. Close to the Mountains with fresh air and the sound of nature. We have tried very hard to make this a unique please for people to stay. The Country charm is relaxing and welcoming. It is close to Waterton but you can get away from all the people and enjoy the quite country space. This is why I love it here. I havent found a better place to be.

What makes this property unique

I love the space that our home has. The Kitchen is great for entertaining, The large dinning room fit 25 and you can visit while you cook. There are two beautiful fireplaces built by the first owners. The wood details through are amazing. You can enjoy a game of pool or sit and relax in the 6 person hot tub on the deck and enjoy the sun set. The yard is plenty big enough for many activities. The flowers surround the building and bring butterflies and humming birds through out the day. You can enjoy the fire pit as the sun goes down. There are many areas for you to enjoy views and the peace and quite.
