This is our second time staying here and it was just as amazing as the first time. We spent mornings out on the deck with the binoculars and coffee. We saw some whales playing one morning. The beach is quiet and secluded. The house is warm and inviting. Don and dale are excellent hosts!

We returned to this beautiful beach house for our second visit this summer, and once again fell in love with it. One of many highlights of this visit was watching a great grey owl that came to perch on a tree just outside of one of the panoramic windows. We were able to watch him for likely 20 minutes, close enough to look into his eyes as he'd swivel his head in our direction. This VRBO is truly exceptional—a beautifully designed home perched above a secluded sandy beach with excellent swimming. Dale and Don are also the most gracious hosts we've ever encountered. We'll definitely be back!

A stunning panoramic view, lovely garden, peaceful setting - planes fly near by but it is thrilling to watch. Lots of wildlife seen such as otters, eagles, deer, rabbits and hummingbirds.

A Wonderful Place!

Dale and Don were wonderful hosts - great communication, very friendly. This is an upscale house with gorgeous views. The house is perched high on a bluff and there is a path down to the beach, which was easily walkable with my young kids (perhaps not so much for someone with major mobility issues). There is also a beautifully landscaped yard with games (bocce ball, soccer nets, croquet). My kids couldn't get enough of the rope swing! The kitchen was well stocked and even had an espresso machine, and there were lots of games and books for the kids. We enjoyed seeing the planes flying overhead, ready to land at the airport nearby. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return!

Spectacular ocean front with expansive views

Wonderfully clean & comfortable home outfitted generously in every possible way…including multiple decks with lots of seating, lots of green space for children to run & play. Huge kitchen with large windows to enjoy the ocean views while prepping meals, large windows in ample dining & living room areas w gas fireplace to gather around after watching sunset from the deck Two great bathrooms…super comfy beds Beach time was incredible! An unforgettable experience

It is a truly wonderful experience to stay at this home. The whole property, inside and out, is living artwork. The beautifully and artfully crafted living space is designed to offer panoramic views of the mountains, ocean and landscape from every room. The kitchen is a dream to work in, the dining spaces inside and out are ample and beautifully set up, each room is tastefully and comfortably laid out, We'd begin our day with breakfast perched above the ocean, watching eagles glide and seals call to each other. The beach below is one of the best swimming spots we found in Comox, long and sandy and nearly always deserted. The hosts are wonderful, the perfect mix of friendly and helpful with 100% respect for your privacy. And the property is ideally situated about 8 minutes from Comox center, everything you need just a short drive away. We will definitely return!

Beautiful, relaxing and comfortable

We spent 2 weeks at this beautiful home with the only problem being deciding which deck to view the spectacular vista! The home is well appointed with every thing we could need in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Dale and Don's home is located close enough to Comox, Cortenay and Nanaimo (a 1+ hour excursion south), but feels like you are on a secluded island. We will definately go back again.

Relaxing, recharging holiday.

This is our second year staying at this property. The view is amazing, the amenities great and the overall experience is everything we needed. Just sitting and relaxing on one of the decks watching the ocean and the planes landing nearby was great. There are many good, easy walking trails in the area for us seniors. We’ll be back!!

Amazing Vacation

We had a fantastic stay at the beach house. It’s very spacious, clean and fully equipped with everything you could ever need. Dale and Don were very friendly and easy to communicate with. The yard was heaven for our kids (ages 1 and 3) to play in. They left us soccer nets, bocce ball, croquet and plenty of sand toys for the beach. The walk down to the beach was short enough for a 3 year old to make it there and back. The beach itself was sandy and quiet; we barely saw any other people around. The view from the house is exceptional. You could just sit and stare at the ocean and watch the birds for hours. There was the occasional plane flying by which was a highlight for our kids. We had a wonderful vacation and I hope to return next year!

Amazing!

This is our second stay at Dale and Don's beautiful home and again, it was amazing. Their home is spacious, extra clean, very comfortable, with a perfectly equipped kitchen and outdoor barbeque. We travelled with our two daughters who both had their own bedroom. The grounds are exquisite with beautiful gardens and the walk on the beach is so special. This home is a 5 minute drive from the Comox airport and is an easy drive to many quaint towns around, including grocery and liquor stores and shopping. We recommend this property without hesitation and are looking forward to going again! Thank you Dale and Don for your warm welcome, we consider you as our friends! A little slice of paradise.

There are so many positives about this rental that I can't possibly list all of them. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Don and we hit it off right away. Later Dale stopped by and we talked with her for a bit. What a delightful couple. Although they stayed in their attached suite for a couple of days they were not intrusive, in fact, we felt comfortable knowing they were nearby. Later they left for their cabin so we were all alone. What a lovely house with a spectacular view. The house was immaculate and obviously well cared for. The ocean view was amazing with Alaskan cruise ships cruising by almost every night. The peace and tranquility were so delightful. Even though the airport is right behind the house I never found it to be bothersome. I actually enjoyed watching the infrequent passenger planes fly over the house when they were landing, it was never too loud. The town of Comox was also very welcoming. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt at home in the community. This visit was everything we could have asked for and exceeded our expectations. I could go on and on with many superlatives but all I need to sum up the trip are the words excellent and amazing.

Breathtaking views

Superb highest quality luxury home with a beautiful garden in a marvelous location. Dale and Don are the original Super Hosts. Absolutely nothing is missing from this house. Traffic at the nearby airport rarely intrudes.

Beautiful location on a magical island

The property sits above the beach on Kye Bay. The location enjoys spectacular views across to the mainland, with beautiful sunrises and the ever changing tidal shoreline. The balcony overlooking the beach is a wonderful place to sit, relax or eat. The beach is accessible in a few minutes down a short path. The beach itself is clean and empty of people, aside from a few neighbours walking dogs occasionally. The sea is home to many seals, and the shoreline is home to pelicans, eagles and all manner of birds. The house itself is fabulous, spotlessly clean, with big windows facing the sea. The kitchen is great, with a huge selection of herbs and spices. There is a good sized patio area and gas barbeque, should you prefer cooking outside. Nearby there are opportunities to kayak, watch whales, mountain bike, walk to lakes and mountains, or you can just relax at home. Dale and Don are fantastic hosts. They really make you feel like you're in a home from home. We will be back.

We were very fortunate to meet Dale and Don. They were delightful and made our transition into their home very easy. Their home had everything that we needed and more. The location was awesome with access to a vast secluded beach at low tide.

Our Comox Getaway

Our week truly was lovely. The property was charming on the outside, modern and comfortable on the inside. The view was spectacular. The beach was a short kid-friendly hike down the cliff, and it was a nice mix of sandy beach and tidal pools for exploring. It was quiet, and the neighbours were friendly. We met the hosts during our stay and they were very friendly, but were not in our way or imposing. We found that some rooms were hot at night but the hosts were available by text and turned on the A/C for us which helped a lot. The area itself was wonderful and we really enjoyed exploring Comox and the nearby towns. We will be back for sure!

Amazing views out of the living area windows. Lovely deck areas to sit and watch the birds and enjoy the scenery. Secret path down to the beach a big hit with our granddaughter! The home had everything we needed for a home away home stay. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

The Best Ever

We have stayed in VRBO's all over the world. This is by far the best home and location anywhere. Our hosts were remarkable. They respected our privacy but were delighted to hear about our excursions each day. They gave us wonderful suggestions on things to do. Don got out the kayaks, cleaned them and helped us get to the boat launch. We highly recommend an afternoon on the water. Their home is beautiful and well decorated. The views are remarkable and unforgettable. Dales' kitchen is remarkable with every spice or cooking utensil that you need. No need to go out to dinner. This is my new "Happy Place". Piece of Paradise!

Our stay at Dale and Don's house was amazing. The house is perfect, with lots of space and comfortable beds. The kitchen is very practical, with everything you need. The most extraordinary part of this home is the view of the private beach and ocean! From sunrise to sunset, we could sit for hours admiring this view. We totally recommend this piece of paradise!

Lovely house with fabulous ocean views

Very bright comfortable house with great kitchen, good internet, and excellent hosts who live in an apartment below and were very respectful of our privacy. Situated on a bluff overlooking the ocean with a short trail leading down to the ocean.

My husband and I are retired teachers who have lived in the Comox Valley since 1973. We love the area and really enjoy all the recreational activities at our doorstep. We have raised our family here and can't imagine living anywhere else. Although we love to travel, our favourite place to be is home. We live in a very special place and are happy to share it with guests from our home province and from all over the world.

Our property offers stunning views, sunrise over the ocean and sunset over the mountains, complete privacy, a huge yard, decks all across the ocean side of the house, and a sunset deck with garden, mountain and ocean views off the master bedroom. From the deck overlooking the ocean, a gentle trail leads to a secluded sandy beach that goes for miles. It is great for walking, swimming, and exploring the marine life.

The sandy beach below our home is considered to be one the best in the Comox Valley. The water is warm for swimming and deepens gradually making it safe for children. As the tide lowers, a reef is exposed providing the opportunity to further explore marine life. Eagles, ravens, whales, seals, and dolphins share the neighbourhood. Kye Bay Beach, with a play area for children, is minutes away by car. It is also walkable by beach from the foot of our trail that gently zigzags down the bank from our home. We have a huge, private back yard for the kids to run around safely, and there are decks with ocean, mountain, flower garden views all around the house: 360 degree views with both the sunrise and the sunset. We are lucky to live in a very special spot in the Comox Valley, and are happy to share so you can make wonderful memories of a great vacation with your family and friends.
