It was a clean, pleasant, enjoyable place to be when on site. The drive to it was beautiful and all of the hiking and other things we wanted in the area were a reasonable (30 mn) drive.

Perfect get away

Absolutely love this place! It is nice and secluded and quiet. You can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into the house. It is very well decorated, super clean, and has a rustic charm to it. It had everything we needed. This was actually our second time staying here and we loved it so much. Perfect place for a couple to spend a quiet kid-free weekend!

Perfect for two

Lovely inside and out, outdoor seating is great, we enjoyed the fire pit as well. Very comfortable! Excellent hosts, very flexible when we had a change, would definitely stay again

Enjoyed our stay

Our first time doing vrbo. Really impressed with this rental. Managed professionally with excellent preparation: toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc. Decor was festive. We cooked at the house instead of going out to eat because restaurant options were slim.

Enjoyed immensely

We loved our little getaway to the Carriage House!! We were in the area because my wife graduated with her midwifery degree from Southwest Tech in nearby Fennimore. The carriage house was close enough and yet felt like a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. We were able to relax and enjoy our time together being cozy!!

Quiet retreat

The cabin was just as pictured/described. It was a good size for 2, with a very comfortable bed. The road is unpaved for the last 2 miles, so it is dusty. But that remoteness also means there is very little traffic. The location is near a great fly fishing stream. And we heard an owl. Nature lovers' delight.

Cozy Retreat

My fiance and I came for a weekend and wished we could have stayed for at least a week! The carriage house is a wonderfully cozy space -- elegantly rustic. We could not have asked for a better space. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen had all of the basic cooking/baking utensils/pans we needed to cook the meals we wanted. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty during our visit. We told the manager, and after he fixed it, it worked for a few hours before cutting out again. However, at that point, we were ready to play games anyway. We played Battleship, Mastermind, and Trivial Pursuit, but ran out of time before we could get to Boggle. So many good game options, and we would have started one of the puzzles if we'd been there for more days. We also missed out on using the grill and fire pit, but we were so excited that these were possibilities. Absolutely a magical weekend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and this place offered privacy and beauty. The cabin was decorated so nicely; we loved the window reading area, the skylights, the kitchen, the usa map, all the local area guides and information (really all of it!). It was very relaxing. We stayed in and cooked all our meals ourselves besides one time which is what we prefer to do and the kitchen was very nicely stocked and worked very well for all our cooking needs. On our way to the VRBO we stopped at House on the Rock in Spring Green which was a lot of fun. We took in Wyalusing State Park and the Mississippi River area. On our way home we stopped at Governor Dodge State Park and took the Steven's Falls Trail to see a waterfall along a creek with a beautiful rocky area. Thank you for the great stay!

Nice Getaway Home

It has a cute little loft+cabin vibe. It is definitely made for a getaway where you can forget about the rest of the world for awhile and it is perfect for that. Note to future travelers - VRBO's automated distances are wildly inaccurate since they are direct line computations. For example, it says about 15 miles to Prairie du Chien but it takes 30 minutes to make the drive.

Great escape

This property was thoughtfully decorated and supplied and located in a beautiful, secluded area. I didn’t really need Tammy and Wayne to follow up on anything, but when I reached out they were always quick to respond and nice to work with. Would recommend to anyone needing to get away and decompress!

Beautiful Getaway!

We booked a weekend getaway here and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Beautiful property, clean and well-appointed house, and clear and friendly communication with Wayne and Tammy. We got a lot of much-needed rest and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
