Un charmant chalet des années 1930, avec un coin salon avec moustiquaire sur la véranda, une cuisine bien équipée, une salle de bain, pourra accueillir deux personnes dans un lit queen confortable. Parfait pour une occupation simple ou double. Parking adjacent couvert. Un patio extérieur donnant sur le cottage lanai, est un salon intime privé et salle à manger, parmi les bananes et le manguier centenaire, au-dessus. Cottage est sur la propriété d'une maison historique, VRBO annonce 495665, mais orientée vers les jardins du paysage tropical. La cuisine possède une cuisinière à gaz à deux feux, une bouilloire électrique, une cafetière, un four micro-ondes, un grille-pain et un réfrigérateur sous le comptoir. Laveuse et sécheuse avec détergent, dans le carport du chalet. Chaises de plage, serviettes de plage, matériel de plongée, planches de bodyboard sont fournis pour votre plaisir et votre commodité.

Grande cour paysagée à explorer, avec pelouses à étaler et à respirer. Choisissez des fleurs ou des fruits, ou profitez du coucher de soleil depuis la grande cour adjacente. Lisa was a fantastic host, told us all about the history of the coffee plantation and her family's history there. She explained and detailed the process of roasting and bagging coffee. She made an effort and a point to guide us to wonderful places to eat and go in the area. Gounds were beautifully landscape and manicured with tropical plants and Lisa pointed out a lot of them to us. Our accommodations we're very comfortable with tasteful art and the whole experience really felt like we were in a old Hawaiian home which is what we were after, very restful. Next time we're in the Kona area we will come back and stay with Lisa it was a great experience!

We had the best stay there! The surroundings are so beautiful in pictures and picuresc: filled with blooming flowers, different types of fruit on the trees all around the largest state. It’s a place to get away from all the chaos of people to relax and just let your body catch up with your soul. I would recommend this place over and over and over! Lisa is just wonderful to work with. She is kind and thoughtful. Leave you alone but it’s very communicative to any needs.The room that we stayed in the Bungalow is small, but perfect! We mostly were outside in the deck area, enjoying coffee in the morning. The kitchen is spacious enough. I would only recommend maybe a small broom to have, but I did stay there longer than maybe most people I stayed 10 days.I would recommend this place highly for anybody who wants to get away and have quiet and enjoy peace in the mornings or afternoons or evenings. It’s just perfect and you can sit out and catch the sunset which is just beautiful.MahaloK.Graham

Country retreat close to town

A peaceful cottage to return to after the day’s adventures. Beautiful place to watch the sunset from the great lawn. There are gentle sounds from the nearby animal life that charmed us. It was the perfect thing away from tourist central.

Truly getting away!

We loved so much about our stay here - the wide lawn overlooking terrific ocean views, the “real Hawaii” feel, the uncrowded atmosphere, and of course the chickens with their chicks! This was perfect for 2 laid back people to enjoy!

Aloha! I'm Lisa. I'm Hawaii-born and raised (in Honolulu and Hilo,) and have lived here on this property for thirty-nine years raising four children with my husband, Christian. I love to share my culture, our Islands' stories and history with all. I cherish my morning coffee, friendships, food, gardening and yard work, and beach combing!

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Hale Akala is a special piece of Kona.The main home was built in 1895, the cottage in the 1930s by Manuel Silveira Goularte, a Portuguese rancher who raised his thirteen children here. It was utilized by cowboys of the neighboring Greenwell family's Palani Ranch to re-supply and feed ranch-hands in the 1920 and 30s. Abandoned and left to the elements before WWII, it was eventually purchased by Christian's grandparents, William and Margaret of Honolulu, in 1945. Wanting to retire to Kona (where Margaret's great-grandparents Reverend Asa and Lucy Thurston--part of the company of first Christian missionaries to the Islands who arrived in Kailua-Kona, the seat of Hawaii's ruling Kamehameha reign, in 1820 and lived until the 1860s) they chose the cool uplands of Holualoa. Hale Akala has been in the family for four generations. A few cattle roam the surrounding acres of pasture and you'll hear an occasional bull bellowing from nearby Palani Ranch, in the quiet evening hours.
