The house is tucked in a Hidden Valley between Bel Air and Hope Ranch that accommodates 6 people comfortably. Down a majestic mature tree lined street, at the end of a Cul-de-sac next to an expansive green belt with lots of mature oak trees. Again you will feel like you are on a ranch but in the middle of Santa Barbara two miles from Arroyo Burro Beach, 4 miles from downtown. House is equipped with a Electric Vehicle charging station.
Our open floor plan features an entry hall and great-room with well lite two seating areas in the living room that opens up to the dining room and kitchen. The dining room seats 8 comfortably but in a pinch up to 10.
The bright kitchen overlooks the front yard and meadow and is complete with stone counters, a gas stove oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, espresso maker, garbage disposal, cold reverse osmosis filtered water and kitchen basics for cooking. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, small appliances, ice cream maker, waffle maker, serving ware, and glassware. A washer/dryer is included.
Double Glass doors lead you to a large patio with a teak table and umbrella that seats 8 and overlooks the never-ending back yard with mature oaks trees. Large custom eucalyptus and cider bencher provided ample seating. An outside blaze gas grill overlooks the meadow. … BBQ with a view. Next to the BBQ is seating for 8 adults with a gas fire pit that provides plenty of warmth without the smoke.
The dining room is next to the living room, which has two seating areas. There is a 65-inch TV.
The landscaping was completely redone two years ago by Isa Bird Landscape Design. A small dog would be considered and the yard is fully fenced. Open the back gate for a stroll onto an expansive meadow with oak trees. In the right side of the meadow is an organic farm and a year-round stream called Arroyo Burro Creek.
The pool is located just outside the living room, through a glass sliding door lined by black bamboo and tropical plants. The previous owner was in the pool business…it’s really spacious. 35ft x 20ft The deep end is 10 ft to 3 feet in the shallow end. Want to relax, jump into the poolside Jacuzzi surrounded by bamboo and palms with a view of oak trees and red tail hawks flying overhead. When you are done with the pool, electronically cover with a CoverPro pool-cover with a simple switch. The system is designed to give you peace of mind as it completely eliminates the danger for children & pets.
Two full bathrooms, one has a pink tub (came with the house) the other a shower. I will say, the bathrooms are a bit dated and are on the list to be remodeled, but are fully functional.
Extremely quiet with daily viewing of a variety of birds. The regular visitors are the red tail hawks, Tree Sparrows and Black Phoebes. We have also seen Band-tailed Pigeon, Anna's Hummingbird, Rufous/Allen's Hummingbird, Acorn & Downy Woodpecker, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, Warbling Vireo, Oak Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, House and Bewick's Wren, Western Bluebird, Swainson's Thrush, American Robin, European Starling, House and Purple Finch, Dark-eyed Junco, Song Sparrow, California and Spotted Towhee, Bullock's Oriole, Orange-crowned and Yellow-rumped Warbler, Wilson's Warbler, Black-headed Grosbeak, Scaly-breasted Munia, Blue & White herons and multiple other bird species. Eilings park is 1.5 miles which host several activates. It is full of mountain bike and hiking trails, tennis courts, a BMX course, and athletic fields. La Cumbre Country Club and Santa Barbara Golf Club, and Hidden Oaks Golf Course are next to Hidden Valley Courthouse, other historic downtown sites, State Street restaurants & shopping, harbor, zoo, art museum, Natural History Museum & Planetarium, farmers markets are within biking distance or a five to ten-minute drive. Although you would never know it, we are less than 5 minutes from the freeway, which makes getting anywhere to the airport, other beaches, shopping centers, wine tasting, beach visits, UCSB, or City College extremely easy and quick.
We are also next to Arroyo Burro Beach. This off-leash beach in City of Santa Barbara is the beach that runs below the Douglas Family Preserve ( -- it begins east of the slough at Arroyo Burro Beach (the locals call it Hendry's Beach), and stretches almost to the steps at Mesa Lane. Hendry’s Beach the best beach in town several surf and diving spots. It also has the Boat House….make reservations in advances. The Blackberry Mai Tai with a perfect sunset will take your breath away.
Month rental comes with a gardener and cleaning twice a week, pool cleaning once.
