Cette élégante maison peut accueillir confortablement jusqu'à 8 personnes dans 4 chambres spacieuses, avec 2 salles de bains privatives, une salle de bains familiale et un vestiaire.
Répartie sur 3 étages, la maison offre une grande cuisine bien équipée ouvrant sur une salle à manger avec un feu ouvert, un grand salon, avec feu ouvert et un balcon donnant sur la rivière.
La maison a été décorée et meublée à un niveau exceptionnellement élevé, ayant été modernisée et rénovée au début de 2016, avec une nouvelle cuisine, des salles de bains et une redécoration totale, offrant luxe et confort dans un cadre magnifique, nous avons beaucoup réfléchi à votre séjour.
Le jardin donne directement sur la rivière Charente et nous sommes heureux de laisser nos canoës et kayaks à la maison pour votre usage pour la durée de votre séjour.
Pour les amateurs de sports nautiques, la région est idéale, en plus des canoës et des kayaks, vous pouvez louer un bateau et explorer la rivière, monter jusqu'à l'arrêt Port d'envaux pour le déjeuner, puis continuer jusqu'à Taillebourg où vous pourrez vous essayer au ski nautique et Wakeboard

Absolutly stunning property located in a quiet town, the pictures do not do the property justice exteamly large rooms adequate for a large amount of people, we spent 2 weeks in the property and were able to explore multiple locations all within 30 to 40 min drive away, and if you dont feel like driving there is a train station 2 minutes away allowing you to get around, all of the rooms have been carefully thought about keeping with the the age of the property, this has been one of the best places we have stayed in in some years and i would deffinatly recommend to other thinking of visiting

Lovely house with plenty of space and loads of character.

We had a lovely stay, the house is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Pretty garden just over the road - beware of midges in the evening! St Savinien is a great base to explore the area with so many beautiful places to visit.

Great stay, v big house. Had not appreciated kitchen was upstairs Nie that had to cross the road to access the garden and river. But beautiful house and surroundings and nit far for sea and that has to offer, especially the best oysters you can get anywhere!! Will be back

Beautiful house and town with all the amenities

My family and I stayed in this lovely home for 3 weeks. Having morning coffee on the balcony over looking the river and gardens is what I miss most about my mornings... Dinners under the Willow tree, movies next door, lovely Chateaus and Sculpture park just a few km away. We so enjoyed our time in Saint Savinien. I would absolutely stay again.

Beautiful Home

We spent a week at this fabulous property and enjoyed every minute. It was a relaxing and tranquil setting. The garden leading to the river was amazing ,was just able to fish from the bank (caught a 22lb carp on sweet corn ) but be warned the mosquitos are ferocious, so a quality misquote spray is required But overall a fabulous experience and will be returning.

Gracious home in a great village

The hosts are very nice and the house itself is gracious. Tall ceilings and well proportioned rooms, with beautiful details like the tiles and ceiling medallions. The kitchen is well laid out and well stocked. Showers and bath have plenty of water pressure and very hot water. The village setting is great, especially with the river. Good walks right on your door and convenient to many places to explore.

Wonderful house in lovely surroundings

Lovely old French townhouse in pretty Saint Savinien. We had a relaxing time - swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding on the river. The house was perfect for us - the downstairs bedroom was cooler in the heat but the upstairs main bedroom is so pretty and the bath overlooking the river wonderful. We loved the riverside garden but wouldn’t have found it easy with younger children. Would also have benefited from some easier access to the river - a little jetty maybe. Small town perfect for our needs - boulangerie near the town bridge fantastic/ Bar barrage good for low key food. Île d’oleron has lovely beaches on west coast. All in all a great base for holiday. A beautiful house in a lovely area

We were very happy with the house which was beautiful, well furnished and comfortable. The garden on the river Charente was well shaded by a very large weeping willow and it was a lovely cool and relaxing place to be on our 2 record hot days (40 degrees.) We could use the owners' canoes and the children, aged 12 and 14 loved it. The garden was at the front of the house and across a small quiet one- way street. We dealt mostly with Debbie in the admin of renting the property. She was very efficient and also helped us to postpone our holiday twice (Covid) at no extra cost so we finally had our 2020 holiday in 2022! When the gas canister for the kitchen stove ran out of gas we phoned Debbie and Debbie's husband Alan came out immediately to fit a new canister. Amazingly fast service! So to sum up we were very pleased with our stay in St Savinien.

A property with everything and more...

We really felt at home and comfortable in this house. The rooms are very large with high ceilings which makes you feel like you are living in a vast space. The modern, well-stocked kitchen includes high quality appliances. Bathrooms are also very modern and bright. The decor is subdued and in good taste. We appreciated the period furniture which goes so well with the overall look. The recent renovation is excellent. The pleasant owners, Debbie and Alan, who live nearby, quickly responded to any of our questions or concerns in a very helpful manner. The garden area on the Charente river was peaceful and relaxing. We had delightful meals outdoors here. Saint Savinien is a friendly, quaint town with shops and stores for all our needs. We enjoyed walking around the town and area. The train station is an convenient five minute walk away. We took the train to Rochefort and Saintes - an easy, pleasant way to travel. There are many good to excellent restaurants nearby. We liked everything about this property so well - the house, the owners. the town and area that we could have stayed longer.

A very beautiful, sympathetically updated house of character. this type of property has grandeur and all the little foibles and quirks of an old house. Creaky floors and original window fittings, some which open, some which might not. A three story house with an old winding wooden staircase, and wooden floors throughout, we did get a few splinters ! Modern bathrooms a plenty, and a good well equipped modern kitchen. Loads of bedroom and bathroom space, and lots of added things such as board games, fans, hairdryer etc. The lounge was lovely and looked out onto the river with a relaxed bright feel to it. Huge dining table great for a big family and sharing food. We must not forget the canoes, life jackets and large floats which were in the garage for our use. The girls had the best time playing in those. We loved our stay in this beautiful part of France and spent a lot of time either on, or in the river with the children. The owners were helpful and there when needed. Only one small thing would be to maybe invest in updating the garden area, and if there was a small deck with a way of accessing the river more easily from the garden it would have been perfect for us. Regardless, we loved our stay and will be back.

Escapade splendide

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Saint-Savinien. La maison est magnifique, parfaitement équipée et le jardin avec la rivière... un régal ! Debbie est une hôtesse charmante et très arrangeante. Le village et la région sont également parfaits - rien à redire, c'était génial!

Un endroit de rêve

L’endroit est superbe, la maison, très grande, très agréable, et bien décorée. Il ne manque rien pour que l’on passe un moment merveilleux dans cette endroit superbe . Une seule chose était regrettable: il n’était pas mentionné que 3 des chambres , se trouvaient au deuxième étage, or nous étions avec 3personnes qui avait dépassé les 80 ans et avaient par conséquent de grandes difficultés à accéder à ces pièces. Malgré ce petit inconvénient, nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ce séjour avec une seule envie: y revenir

MAGNIFIQUE MAISON

Merci Deborah pour votre accueil très agréable et votre confiance. Votre maison est vraiment splendide de part sa décoration mais parce qu'elle a ce charme ancien qui a été bien conserver tout en bénéficiant de toute la modernité actuelle. Nous étions 6 adultes et 2 enfants de 10 à 12 ans. La maison est spacieuse ce qui permet à chacun de s'isoler lorsqu'il en a besoin. La rue est très calme. Le jardin en bord de la Charente est un petit bijou de verdure, bucolique et enchanteur. Merci encore pour votre accueil et gentillesse.

Très bien!

La maison est comme dans l'annonce même mieux. Très lumineuse avec des grandes chambres. Le plus: le seul pleureur du jardin et les deux canoes mises à notre disposition. Ménage inclus...très rare sur Abritel. Fortement recommandé.

We have lived in Saint Savinien sur Charente since 2004 with our 3 children. We have always loved the houses on Quai des Fleurs and when the opportunity arose earlier this year to buy one of these beautiful riverside townhouses, we jumped at the chance. We both work in the area and our 'no longer small' children go to school in Saintes and La Rochelle

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Our home on Quai des Fleurs offers the ideal balance between a calm and tranquil location and a town setting.
The river Charente which runs through the town is not only beautiful but offers a variety of activities, such as canoeing, kayaking and boating.
In our small picturesque town we have the benefit of a heated outdoor pool complex which is just a short walk from the house, made up of 3 pools geared for toddlers up to the most experienced swimmers, with slides, table tennis, grassy banks for sunbathing and a cafe it really is a great way to spend an afternoon, or for older children/ teenagers to be able to go to independently, without the need of a lift from Mum or Dad!.
Hire a boat for an hour or the whole day and explore the river
Tenis courts are available for hire in the town.
Our local riding stables are only 5km from the house, hacking in the woods through to lessons for the most experienced rider are avaiable.
Explore the town and its shops, cafes and restaurants, there is a twice weekly market for fresh local produce

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The situation of the house is ideal for those who wish to leave the car at home, fly into La Rochelle or Bordeaux and take the train to St Savinien, the property is a short walk from the train station, you can then explore St Savinien and the Charente in one of our Canoes or Kayaks, or if you want to go further afield take the train to La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Saintes or Rochefort. This makes the property ideal if you want a short break / long weekend away with friends or family.
The house has some beautiful original features, the property was built by a merchant in the early 1800's, it is one of two identical houses built for his two daughters.
With a large sweeping staircase in the centre of the house and a stained glass window letting light down from the roof onto the staircase, tall ceilings and wood panelling, it is the epitomy of a 'Maison bourgeoise'.
We have renovated the property to a very high standard whilst trying to retain these original features.
The house is set over 3 floors, with bedrooms on the ground and 2nd floor and the living accomodation on the first floor.
The riverside garden is a great place to relax and watch the river and occasional boat sail by.
