This condo is conveniently situated on the ground floor with a view over the Mayan Palace golf course 4th hole tee-off. Parking close by-40yards. This unit arguably has the largest porch in Club La Costa with outside dining table seating 6 and separate lounge area seating 4 . Open area design inside. 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds and one queen bed.2 bathrooms, one on-suite with showers in each.

Kitchen is fully equipped with all kitchen appliances including stove, fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher and all cutlery, plates, bowls, and glasses within easy reach. Laundry:Washer and dryer on porch. 2 Air conditioning units, one for the main area and one for the main bedroom. Ceiling fans in all rooms.

Large flat screen television with satellite connection. Blu-Ray DVD player and Bose

sound system with connection for iPhone and other smart phones, tablets and devices.

Router for wireless internet access included.

Villa II swimming pool 30 feet away and large complex swimming pool 80 yards from front door.

About Jaco Fourie

We live in Terrace, British Columbia, Canada quite far north in the province.

I'm a physician leader responsible for the treatment of cancer patients in a large geographical area, overseeing 9 cancer clinics and 17 physicians. My wife is a busy general practitioner.

We're passionate about the outdoors in general and about the Southern Baja and San Jose in particular.

We also believe in delivering quality products and integrity in our dealings with our guests.

Why Jaco Fourie chose San Jose del Cabo

We jumped at the opportunity when this condo became available during construction in 2007/2008.

We've already fallen under the spell of the area with it's wonderful weather, people and diverse activities.

The sense of safety and tranquility of San Jose is hard to beat and it's become our favourite destination.We can't help to return to the Baja even when we have other tropical destination alternatives.

There are activities for everyone including swimming with dolphins, ziplining, whale watching, fishing, snorkelling and fine dining.

All activities are also in close proximity and many activities can be booked through the Solaris Hotel just down the access road or booked on-line.

Most of the La Costa condo owners are Canadians or Americans and are friendly, helpful and ready with good information.

What makes this condo unique

The condo itself has a unique design as it's on the ground floor with a wide sweeping porch that can accommodate 2 sets of tables and chairs.

It's nicely secluded as we only have a neighbour on one side.

The rest of the condo is adjacent to the golf course and a beautiful cactus garden full of humming birds, orioles and doves early in the morning.

The proximity of the Villa II swimming pool is very convenient and a popular alternative.

This condo is quiet and peaceful because of the aforementioned reasons but also because it's shielded from traffic and main thoroughfares.

The fishing in the Sea of Cortez is spectacular and the contentness we feel when barbecuing fresh yellowfin tuna on the porch with the sun going down over the San Jose hills is difficult to describe.

The convenience of the ground floor and proximity to the parking lot are great bonuses of this unit.

After leaving the quiet of Villa II the coffee shops,bars and restaurants of the Zona Hoteliera are literally a stone throw and 3 minutes away.

Loved the place.

We just got back from San Jose Del Cabo. We were greeted by Marco on Entry and he was fantastic. The condo is exactly like the photos. Very clean, and beautiful. The patio was to die for it is a wrap around and gave us sunlight from early afternoon into the evening. There is no need to bring condiments of any kind. This place had everything that we needed from beach towels, to spices, to dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent. We found if we used something we just replaced it. The location was great - the WIFI worked fantastic - never having an issue. There are several TV Stations to choose from if you decide to stay in. It truly is in a great location - with several restaurants and bars in walking distance. The one pool is about 10 feet away and the main pool was only 100 step away where you can meet other condo guests.. Great job Jaco - and we will return.

Well maintained and equipped, ground floor condominium, in a near perfect setting.

We spent two months in this great condo. The unit is exactly as stated in Jaco's VRBO property description. There are even food staples on hand which you replace as needed. He has a maintenance team who are ready to help with any minor problems. Club la Costa condominiums are just like a resort. Three swimming pools and a couple of hot tubs. Loads of social activity if you want, but full privacy if that is what you prefer. If you are a walker, this is the location for you. You can walk into town, go to the Mega supermarket, Walmart Super Store or the beach on the Sea of Cortez . If you are not a walker, taxis are readily available, but we used the local Urbano buses for the longer trips. You can also take the Cabo bus to Chileno Beach (fabulous snorkelling, washrooms, life guards) and Palmella Beach for swimming. Easy 25 minute air conditioned bus ride to the excitement of Cabo san Lucas or you can day trip to La Paz, Todos Santos or Las Brillas. When you are done with all of the exercise, you have a great home to come home to. Jaco even has Shaw TV with most of the channels available. It is in English too! Have yourself a great time with a great host. Thanks Jaco.

Perfect as always

This was our second time staying at Jaco's and it was perfect for our needs once again. Quiet and peaceful with enough space to feel at home. The unit is equipped with newer appliances that work along with all the cooking and serving compliment you need. The unit is kept very clean and fresh, you would not know it was a rental.

Where the unit is situated, you are able to have peaceful coffee and meals on the patio and when it is windy get out of the wind.

Of course we will be back. The owner was very easy to deal with. He is quick to respond, patient with making up our minds and being very polite.

Thank you for sharing your home and we look forward to being back.

Food and supplies

-Basic small items can be obtained from the corner store across from Rock and Brew, 100 yards down the access road from the condo.

-Megastore carries about everything you need; about a10-15 minute walk with ample parking. There’s also a Starbucks

Don’t buy seafood or fresh meat products from Mega.

-COSCO is about a 20 minute drive towards Cabo San Lucas. It has excellent seafood and meat products and a good selection of wine.

Maybe purchase a bag of ice from Cosco to keep in the freezer for margaritas.

WALMART is not far away with fresh and well-kept food, good wine prices and good variety overall.


-Our favorite restaurant with the best view in San Jose is the Seven Seas at Cabo Surf Hotel. After you leave SJ towards Cabo San Lucas you’ll engage a hill with a sharp curve to the right. Slow down, keep in the left lane as an awkward and sharp turn to the left through a narrow gap in the center barrier is coming up. Be careful when crossing over. Drive to the gate and the guard will let you in to the lower parking lot.

Cabo Surf Hotel has an excellent spa with great massages and pedicures.

-Habaneros is situated towards the city center. It’s a 10 minute walk walk down the Boulevard Mijares The first little center you’ll come to has several restaurants and Habaneros is around the middle of the little complex.

-Don Sanchez in the downtown area has good albeit rather expensive Mexican food-good for dinners.

-Tropicana is worth the visit just to see the interior décor and their food is good-breakfast and dinner.

-Baan Thai is within walking distance of the condo in the art walk area next to Baha Brewery Restaurant. It has a wonderful atmosphere especially in the courtyard area and fantastic Thai/Malaysian food.

-Asi & Asado also known as the “Taco Stand” serves the most authentic tacos in the whole BCS but is tricky to get to.

-Mis Suenos in CSL in the marina is a great place to go for seafood but again tricky to get to.

-The Drunken Sailor in Playita (contiguous to San Jose) is a 10 minute drive from the condo and probably the best bargain in San Jose from a price and quality of food perspective. Drive to the Playita marina and look to your left just before the El Ganso Hotel.


-Driving can be disconcerting in the Baja. It’s basically give and take especially in the roundabouts and make sure you make eye contact before proceeding.

-Try to keep close to the speed limit-you don’t want to be stopped by the Federales.

-Ask John to brief you on what to do in the case of an accident-it will be best to call him right away.

-Don’t jump amber traffic lights.


San Jose and environs are very safe and walking to the downtown area even in the evening poses no particular risks.

La Costa has its own security service and the grounds are constantly patrolled. This is more to discourage petty theft than anything else.

Swimming beaches

-The 2 main swimming beaches are Chilenos and Santa Maria on the way to CSL and it’s easy to access.

There is excellent snorkeling at both beaches. There are beach chairs and umbrellas as well as a beach umbrella in the garage.

The best snorkeling is usually before 10 am and the beach gets really busy with boat- borne visitors from the cruise ships by 11 am which puts the fish down.

-Medano beach in Cabo San Lucas is world famous .

The Baha Cantina restaurant at Medanos is usually the best bet. It can be tricky to get there.

Drive straight into CSL, stay in the left lane and turn left at MacDonalds. Keep going and when you get to the almost top of the hill, signs will direct you to turn left to Medanos or “Playa Publica” –you have to turn right again about 1 or 2 streets down. Don’t try to find parking but use the Baha Cantina valet service in the circle on your right adjacent to the statue of a man and his fish.

Cleaning and laundry

Rosario, our cleaning lady can be pre-booked but every 4-5 days or so might be appropriate. She also does laundry.

$30-$40 USD/day.

There is an iron and ironing board in the spare room and cleaning supplies and brooms etc. in the steel closet on the porch.

Condo, communication, entertainment money etc.

-The router user name and password is taped on top of the router as well as Juan the IT guy’s contact info. -Be sure to switch off data roaming on your cell. A data-roaming package is available from most carriers.

-The ceiling fan on the porch is also great but remember to switch it on at the wall switches inside the condo to the right of the sliding door.

-There is a Bose Wave sound system and a cable to attach your iPhone/iPad to listen to music.

-To get Pesos use the ATM machines at the bank, as it’s cheaper.

-Ask John Hasey about a whale watching or fishing expedition in the Sea of Cortez.

-There are 2 swimming pools-one right next to the condo and bigger pool which is great. It also has a hot tub.
