Perfect location on Rue St Dominique. Easy to walk any where. It was very spacious for Paris!
Very comfortable beds. Fans available! Lots of drawers in bedroom. Really a good setup for 3 or 4.
Lots of things within walking distance. The apartment is as described. Nothing fancy, but all the things you need. Big enough for me, my wife and our 6 year old daughter. Only negative is the noise. We were told clearly that there would be problems if there were complaints about us making too much noise, so we figured (incorrectly) that the building would be quiet in general. On our second night, the people below us decided to have a party. From 10:30pm to 5am. Lots of people and loud music. Knocked on their door and they claimed to not speak any English. Not knowing the justice system for France, we didn't call the police. The book that has LOTS of great information about Paris that was left on the kitchen table didn't have any information about what to do if your neighbors are too loud. At least at a hotel, you have someone that will help immediately. Other than that, lots of door closing and people talking type of noise that you would expect from a 100 year old building.
This apartment is located in my favorite part of Paris, just a few blocks from Rue Clare and the river. There are two grocery stores in the street below, as well as pastry shops and restaurants. You only have to go up one flight of stairs and it's usually quiet, being on the other side of a courtyard. The bathroom has been renovated and may be the nicest we've had in Paris. The furniture leaves a lot to be desired (there's a twin trundle bed with pillows instead of a sofa) and the kitchen is very small, although it has all the essentials. The management and the lady who showed us in were helpful and professional.
Great location - perfect for a stay in Paris
This was our family's first trip to Paris. Apartment was just as described. Not too big, but enough room for me, my husband and our two teenage daughters. It was extremely hot while we were there, but the fans provided made all the difference. There are great places to eat and shop right outside the apartment door. There is a Laundromat right around the corner. It is close to the metro and bus stops and an easy walk to the Eiffel Tower (which you can see as soon as you step outside the door). There is always activity on the street, so we didn't feel isolated when we would walk home each night. We kept the windows open at night to take advantage of the cool breeze. Some of the neighbors were a little loud in the courtyard, but it wasn't unbearable. It was nice to have a kitchen and a small refrigerator to keep drinks and snacks for when we returned to the apartment. There is a wonderful notebook in the apartment with all the information you could want - phone numbers for services, locations of restaurants, instructions to work the TV and wifi. The wifi was an invaluable amenity to have, as was the free calling locally and home to the US. All my emails were answered timely prior to my trip and the manager was available during our stay. Everyone connected with this apartment was friendly and helpful. We could not have asked for a better place to stay.
Great location to explore Paris !
My family and I enjoyed exploring Paris from the comfort of a small apartment. The location was amazing - so close to the metro (la Tour Mauborg station was a 5 min walk.) There is one of the best Boulangeries across the street which made breakfast every day a no-brainer! The apartment itself is warm and cozy - we went in December. The Eiffel Tower is about a 10-15 min walk away. It worked well for the four of us - (two girls ages 10 & 14 w my husband and myself.). We would go back again as we felt it was a good value.
June 2015 stay
We had a comfortable stay. The property is located very close to Eiffel Tower and other landmarks. It was very convenient for us to visit different places without having to spend too much time in transit. Lots of food choices near by. In a safe zone; we felt comfortable walking at 11:00pm at night. Enough traffic around to not feel lonely.
The house (in my opinion) can use some upgrades. The kitchen area is too small for it to be of any use. We effectively didn't end up using it at all. Some English language channels on the TV will be helpful to keep the kids engaged while we are at home.
Also having a washer / dryer in the property will be helpful for people who are out on a longer vacation. This was one thing that we missed the most during our stay.
The safety / security in the house and building is adequate and made us feel safe.
