My husband and I love restoring houses. We both come from art and architecture backgrounds with a wealth of experience in the antique and restoration trade. My husband had his own London based landscape business before moving into property renovations. He has lovingly landscaped the rear garden, creating an intimate yet spacious eating area in our south facing garden and surrounding by pretty, fragrant planting.

We love this house. It has high ceilings, tall windows and full of light. South facing rear garden dining area that has been carefully landscaped to include brick built BBQ. The three storey house has sea views from all floors too! We have carefully restored original architectural features and flooring to a high standard, decorated with Farrow and Ball paint and selected comfortable mattresses. We have chosen new and antique furniture, modern and traditional original artworks. We have created a most energy efficient home, without spoiling the Victorian structure.
What makes this House unique
Ilfracombe was established as a Victorian holiday destination and built in the 19th century. It holds the charm of the 'Victorian holiday' with an active fishing harbour but with all the expectations of a 21st century holiday. It is full of life and with lots to do. The house is 4 miles from the popular surf beach of Woolacombe, 8 miles from Croyde and in shooting distance to masses of amazing attractions or activities. Unlike the surf beach locations, Ilfracombe has lots to see and do on bad weather days and in the evenings-all within walking distance and for all ages.

House was perfect for our group. The house had a bathroom, one double and one twin on each floor which meant two families each with two children could have a floor each. The living and dining space was also ideal. Property was super clean and really well equipped. The cakes on arrival was a very welcome bonus especially popular with the kids. Location was also great. Ideal for exploring Ilfracombe and also the beautiful North Devon beaches. Would definitely stay again.
We have had a fantastic weekend staying at this house. It has everything you need for a comfortable break away. The location was perfect for us, we were able to walk into the village to the harbour and also through the fields and go on a country walk to the beach. It is very hilly, but this was not an issue for us. Thank you for a perfect house!

A Great Holiday in a lovely house for a special occasion
The property was wonderful and loads of space for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. The views from the house are great and you can see the house from down in the harbour looking up as well. The extra touches like a the lemon drizzle cake, box of tea bags and real coffee waiting there for when you arrive makes you feel like you are checking into a hotel. We were there to celebrate my mum and dad's 50th wedding anniversary and they loved it. Thanks for sharing you lovely home with us.

Lovely house and location
The house is lovely, well laid out and all rooms are beautifully decorated. It is in a good location but it is quite hilly, so if walking up hills is difficult, this could be an issue! My only small criticisms are that the bath towels provided are quite small and although the bathrooms, kitchen etc were very clean, the rest of the house was dusty and didn't look as if it had been cleaned for a while (lots of dust, dead insects etc on the window ledges). I only mention this in case the owner is paying for a company to clean, as I don't think they're doing a particularly great job! But other than this, I would recommend the place and I would return. We had a lovely week!
Walk to the harbour to view Damian Hurst's sculpture "Verity" or eat in his excellent restaurant. Hike along the Tarka Trail or Exmoor. We are 500m from the beautiful South West coastal path. Experience walking the National Trust coastal Torrs . Lyndon has views over the harbour and ocean from every floor and overlooks the ancient site of an Iron Age fort. Ilfracombe has a cinema, theatre and active fishing harbour. There are dozens of fine quality restaurants, galleries and a thriving craft shop community. Visit the wonderful 'Tunnel Beaches'- a Victorian private beach with safe, enclosed sea swimming area. The surf beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde are minutes away by car or a regular bus service. Locally - shooting range, golf, fishing, walking and biking in the surrounding fabulous countryside. For the younger children- visit Ilfracombe's eccentric collection at the museum, Aquarium and crazy golf. Ride on a mini train from the end of our road to tunnel beaches, swimming pool 200m away, Watermouth family theme park and castle,Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Ilfracombe sea safari. We do not accept hen/stag parties or same sex groups. If the property is left in an unreasonable condition, cleaning charges will be deducted from breakages deposit. Check in 4pm, check out 10am. £150 breakages deposit. 4 date bookings 80% of weekly rate, 3 day bookings 70% of weekly rate. Ask for quote for smaller groups
