Excellent stay close to Colosseum

Our group of 4 had an excellent stay at this apartment that had views of the Colosseum from the bedroom. Marco was an excellent host with great communication. He arranged a ride for us from the airport and even worked with us when our flight was delayed for over 5 hours to make sure we still had a ride and someone was there to meet us at his apartment at midnight! Fully furnished with everything we needed for an excellent stay in Rome near all the sites and great restaurants, we recommend this place highly! Thanks Marco!

Modern spacious flat, walkable to ancient district

We highly recommend this flat. Communication while making the arrangements was prompt, pleasant & precise. The financial arrangements were not complicated and clear. Dealing with Marco and Roberto upon arrival & departure was very pleasant. We are a family of 4 -- parents and 2 daughters, 15 & 9. The flat itself is amazing. While it is on the 4th (5th for Americans) floor, a small lift is available to help with luggage or mild mobility problems. (I would not recommend Rome in general for someone with mobility issues) The flat is spacious & has been recently renovated to a very high standard. Simple, modern furnishings. Perfectly clean and uncluttered. The second, slightly smaller bedroom does not have twin beds, it is a small double as shown in the picture, one of our daughters used the fold out sofa bed after the second night as they are not accustomed to sharing a bed. She said it was very comfortable. Twin beds would be preferable in the second bedroom. The large bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I do not think it has air conditioning, and as it is on the top floor, I would imagine it could get very warm in the peak summer temps. We were there mid-October with day time highs of about 23-24C, the flat was perfectly comfortable and we left the windows open most of the time for a nice breeze. Although the flat is well above street level, the street noise does rise and is heard in the rooms, even with windows closed. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest a white noise app or ear plugs. The Irish pub on the next block was rather noisy late one night with a televised football match drawing a raucous crowd. But we always sleep with white noise playing, so it wasn't too much of an annoyance. The nearest Metro stop is Colosseo. The flat was very easy to find. The neighbourhood felt safe at all hours. A basic grocery is 2 blocks away. I did not find a pasticceria or charcuturie in the neighborhood. Two of our evening meals were nearby: Li Roni (corner of Via dei Santi Quattro & Piazza di San Clemente and Taverna del Quaranta (24 via Claudia). Both were very good. We've had good luck with homelidays rentals and this was the best yet!!

This is a great spot to “hang your hat” while you’re visiting Rome. We loved being close to many tourist attractions. We thought your place was very comfortable and spacious! The only thing I would change would be add a few more towels. We really appreciated that there was a washer as one in our party did not get her luggage while we were in Rome the 4 days! Otherwise I give this place 2 thumbs up!

Nice apartment - with some flaws

The clean and modern apartment in an old building in a great location was perfect for our week long stay. The kitchen was well equipped. Our little neighborhood next to the Colosseum has several little grocery stores, multiple restaurants, and the very interesting San Clemente church. On the other hand, three of the four kitchen chairs were falling apart and unusable. We told Marco about this when we moved in on Saturday, and he thanked us for telling him about it, but nothing was during our stay. The main bed room has two desk lamps on either side of the bed. But these gave so little light that it was not possible to read in bed. One shower worked well, but the shower next to the main bedroom had several leaks in the plumbing that leads up to the shower head. As a result, half of the water leaked out before it even reached the overhead shower. These three flaws are the reasons for 4 stars instead of 5.

Modern gestaltete Wohnung in Roms Zentrum

Die geräumige und modern bis stilvoll eingerichtete Wohnung mit zwei Schlafzimmern liegt sehr verkehrsgünstig und zentral in einer ruhigeren Nebenstraße in direkter Nähe zum Kolosseum. Sie muss in Teilbereichen (Küchenmobiliar, Bestecke, Geschirr und Gläser) nachgerüstet werden. Das zweite Badezimmer ist wenig ansprechend, wirkt handwerklich gepfuscht (Schimmelbildung) und ist von der Hygiene (Schiebetür zur Küche) deplaziert. Wenn auch nicht erforderlich, empfehlen wir doch die Speicherung von 3-4 deutschen TV-Sendern, damit man über die Nachrichten das Neueste aus der Heimat erfahren kann.

Great stay, great location

We had a great stay and loved the location - convenient to metro and lots of good food nearby. Plenty of room for our family of four. It had everything we needed, including a washer. If you're a light sleeper, suggest earplugs. There is street noise outside until late (particularly after a big soccer game).

Great welcome and explanation from host with good English. Lovely apartment. Good facilities for four people. Great restaurants within a few streets. Five minute walk from Collesseum. Good value for money. Would have appreciated more English language TV.

Super Lage...große Wohnung...alles bestens

Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral, die Küchenausstattung ist ok und die Größe für uns mit 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern sehr gut. Die Organisation inklusive Transport vom Flughafen zur Wohnung und zurück war sehr gut und sehr zuverlässig.

EVERYTHING was just about perfect!

My review is actually a 4.75! An option was not available! Marco just about bent over backwards to accommodate us and the times that we needed to be in and out!! He was very kind! Working with Marco was easy from day one!! Marco's apartment was in a SUPER GREAT location for getting around Rome. Close to the subway, all attractions, the bus, tram and train system! It was wonderfully close when we were freezing and needed a warm refuge. It was a quick access to everything! It was comfortable, and roomy for what we needed! The farm stands with all of the fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables, and really good restaurants was just about a block away! The only thing lacking was to have the bathrooms and kitchen sanitized! I am VERY PICKY about cleanliness! A little bleach goes along way with all of the germs of today! The address was not correct on all of the info thru VRBO. Thank goodness that Marco was there waiting for us though to help us get to the right location. Over all, we would come back in a HEARTBEAT!!! Thank you Marco!!

Simple, but clean!

Very small elevator....or 82 steps. The kitchen was okay. Restaurants are nearby. Two blocks from the Colosium. Most of the things we wanted to see we're on the opposite side, so a cab was necessary often. Overall, not bad!

Great Location and great people to deal with.

Location was fantastic. The two bedroom, two bathroom, with living room and kitchen was updated and comfortable. i would stay there again. Owners were very helpful and allowed for baggage storage at the front end and the back end of our stay. Lots of hot water, with good water pressure for the showers. Kitchen allowed for preparation of light cooked meals if desired. Two concerns: the uneven floor in the kitchen and other rooms posed a concern especially at night and the flat is on the 4th floor which we did not expect. There is a tiny elevator which was an adventure. Overall we had a great time.

Location is fabulous

We spent one of the hottest weeks this summer in Rome. Thank goodness for the air conditioner! It truly was a life saver. Second to that is the location. We felt very safe walking the streets in the evening and we were ever so close to the Coliseum and the Forum. Neighbor hood restaurants were good and plenty to choose from. Beds were extremely comfortable and having two full bathrooms was very much appreciated. Would definitely use again if we come back.

Great Location, Great Apartment

Very modern, fresh and stylish two bed apartment. Well equipped and in a fantastic location for the ancient sites. We could actually see a section of the colluseum from our bedroom window. Set in a quiet side street (well, quiet by Rome standards). I wanted to mention if the step in the kitchen could be highlighted in any way? Nearly went over on my ankle twice as did my sister. I highly recommend this apartment.

Appartement très agréable et bien situé

L'appartement est très agréable : bien décoré, spacieux, fonctionnel, bien situé. On s'y sent bien pour visiter Rome. Sa localisation permet de rejoindre rapidement les principaux monuments à pied ou en transport en commun. Les commerces et restaurants, tous proches, sont bien pratiques.

Great apartment in a good location

This is definitely now my "go to" apartment in Rome: spacious, modern with two very comfortable bedrooms and a good sized living room and separate kitchen/dining. We were traveling as two couples and it was ideal.. spitting distance from the Coliseum and easy walking to many important sights.. perhaps best of all GREAT air conditioning, which was a welcome relief every time we arrived back from the 38 degree Rome heat. Marco was excellent to deal with and I don't hesitate to recommend this apartment.

Beautiful flat in a fantastic location and great host!!!

We loved this flat. It's truly beautiful and everything works very well. The AC is great, beds and pillows are comfortable - we really couldn't ask for more. The location is great also. You really are just minutes from the Coliseum and blocks from the main attractions. There's a grocery store that's close and some great restaurants as well - all within walking distance. We had great communication before booking, during check in, etc. . Loved it!!!

Fabulous location - beautiful apartment

This is a great apartment - very comfortable and spacious. Fabulous view of the Colosseum from the master bedroom window! Marco was a great host and he and his helpers were very attentive and responsive to our questions. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful stay in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment around the corner from the Colosseum.

This apartment was in a nice area very close to the colosseum. There is a small market a block over that you can buy stuff for breakfast if you want. Comfortable beds. Loved that there were 2 bathrooms. Made getting ready easier with 3 adult sons and my husband and I. Plenty of towels. Bring your own luffa or washcloth if you are used to it because they don't use them in Europe. Very small washing machine to use but no dryer. (There was even laundry soap to use.) You have to lay it all out to dry. Great AC. This apartment is on the 3rd floor which is more like the 6th floor but there is a lift for your luggage and one or 2 people at a time. Couldn't get the TV in the living room to work but there was a Wii to play. TV in master BR worked. Great place. Would stay again.

Roomy, nicely furnished place in a great location just a block away from the Colloseum

Marco's property was as advertised, a modern interior in an older building in a great location. We used it as a base for foot exploration of the highlights of old Rome during a 2-night stay. It's really close to the Colosseum and the Forum--less than a quarter mile to explore both. Further, but still an easy walk were the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and everything in between. We used a hop-on/hop-off bus for going further including Vatican City. I would recommend Big Bus Rome for that. The building was quiet, had a/c and had a bustling neighborhood with several decent restaurants just a block away along with a pretty good market. Marco was nice enough to accommodate us with an early check-in when we disembarked a cruise in Civatavechia. Thank you Marco!

Outstanding Place!

This is a wonderful apartment for up to six persons and it is located only a few meters from the Colosseum. It accommodated four adults and two children perfectly. There are many resturaunts in the area and markets to get supplies. The owner, Marco, was always responsive to our request in inquiries leading up to the trip. Don't hesitate to book here!!
