About this property

Located in the heart of North Scottsdale! Since 2015, we have offered for our guests a peaceful, tropical oasis in the desert. Our very comfortable single level 1,030 sq. ft. private Guest Suite has a separate entrance that does not require our guests to go through our own living space. Our house has a duplex setup providing complete privacy for our guests, including a private patio and a private entrance to the swimming pool. Its location is ideal, being a 4-minute drive to TPC Scottsdale Golf Club and walking distance to Kierland shopping and dining. The Guest Suite has 2 bedrooms; one with a comfortable queen bed and small sitting area, the other is a cheerful room with 2 twin beds (one is a nice Sleep Number bed). Both bedrooms have walk-in closets. The bathroom is located between the bedrooms with 2 sinks and a Jacuzzi tub with shower. It has a good-sized living room, a dining room with a buffet equipped with dishes and silverware, a small refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, a toaster, and a Keurig for coffee or tea (no kitchen available). In addition, there is access to our back yard with a propane grill. The swimming pool is heated only by the sun, so its temperature is dependent on the weather (best swimming weather is April thru September). We provide wireless internet access and cable TV at no additional charge. The house is powered by 36 solar panels, and the water is heated by a tankless water heater, which means you'll never run out of hot water. Enjoy the Arizona sunshine in our private back yard, and a cup of coffee or tea in the morning while sitting in a private patio off of the Queen bedroom! Finally, sleep comfortably under a ceiling fan in both bedrooms! Truly a resort lifestyle!

Great House

We enjoyed our stay here while vacationing for our anniversary ! The house was clean and exactly how described. We spent most of our time by the pool, which was lovely ! It didn’t bother us that there wasn’t a kitchen because we ate out most of the time at all the restaurants close by! Dan and Terry are very nice people and gave us our privacy. We would recommend this house! Also, on the last night Dan recommended a trail 4 miles away to watch the sunset, it was perfect ! Thanks you so much for everything ! Daniel and Madison

Great location

Checking in and the owner was great, although i was extremely shocked to find out it was a guest suite not a house..... the owner has sectioned off part of their house to rent out the front, the only thing that separated us was a pocket door. They did give us our privacy but you can clearly see them and here them especially if you spend any time at the pool! Still very nice people and they left us alone which was nice, but if you are wanting your own place this is not the case. Also there is just a mini fridge not a kitchen!

Scottsdale retreat

We had a very nice stay at the property. Modern house that is in great condition. Very quite neighborhood. Too cool to use the pool (weather, not us). Owners very responsive and tolerant of some trombone playing. Very convenient to Scottsdale activities. Note that the property does not have a full kitchen, but has mini fridge, microwave and a grill in the backyard.

My husband and I came from Alaska to see our son and this place was perfect! We would definitely recommend going to Maggianos as was suggested, delicious food and wonderful service! Old Town Scottsdale is a must see. Our son has lived in North Scottsdale for a little over a year and plan to make quite a few trips there and explore more. Thank you Dan and Terry for sharing such a beautiful place for all to enjoy!

Dan and Terry both grew up in the Seattle area. We met at Bellevue High School where we graduated together in 1972, and were married 48 years ago. Dan worked as a mechanic and manufacturing engineer for Boeing for over 13 years before moving to Scottsdale 25 years ago. He finished his career as a Technical Writer and is now retired from Honeywell in order to have free time to write books and take mission trips to India. Terry is a retired respiratory therapist; she worked in a major Phoenix hospital for 20 years. We both love to share our home in Scottsdale and meet new friends!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with North Scottsdale and bought this home because of its great location. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac but still close to stores, restaurants, golf courses, hiking trails, and major freeways. You can see beautiful sunrises over the mountains just east of us if you are an early riser!

What makes this property unique

The backyard is a tropical oasis in the Arizona desert. The pool is surrounded by lush plants and has a soothing water fall. Once you sit back in our comfy chairs you may not want to leave!
