Not what we booked and paid for.
We didn't stay in this property as the owner said there had been a water problem. With 7 days notice we were offered an alternative property in the town of Enna. This was approximately 6 kilometres away from our original booking which was in a quiet rural location away from the town. Whilst the internal decor was fine, the lounge was very dark requiring a light on at all times during the day. There was no garden, private terrace, outside seating areas or views. We were unable to park our car onsite and had to walk 225 metres each time we used it. The owner and her son were living at the original property which we had booked 6 months' previously and, visited on our departure day. We were terribly disappointed as it totally failed to live up to our expectations or our requirements. The owner showed little sympathy or appreciation of our utter disappointment. She did offer us one extra night in the alternative town apartment but we already had another property to move to in a different part of Sicily. Having had more than 10 bookings with HomeAway, this is the first time we have been disappointed with a property and, as a consequence have made an official complaint.
