About Eric

I enjoy rehabilitating cabins to their former glory, some need more attention to detail than others. In the end, I hope that you will enjoy the cabin and it's part of Estes Park history. Please view my other VRBO listings in beautiful Estes Park; 614413, 962070, 877886.

Why Eric chose Estes Park

I have been coming to Estes Park ever since I can remember, and now I have the chance to preserve a bit of it's history.

What I love about this cabin is the location and the View of Longs Peak from the very large picture window is INCREDIBLE!! This property has it all, a 1949 cabin surrounded by mature Ponderosa Pine trees, enclosed patio area with Aspens, and several rock outcroppings. Native grasses surrounding the cabin attract the roaming wildlife.

What makes this cabin unique

Cozy Living room with large stone wood burning fireplace and Picturesque view of Longs Peak.

We hope that you LOVE Kiefer Cabin as much as we do!

Beautiful Cabin with great views

  • 5 of 5

Loved our weekend here! The cabin is cozy and has all the things you would need for a comfortable stay. The views are amazing. It’s close to town, but far enough away to feel like you have plenty of privacy. Would be back for sure!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a true Rocky Mointain Experience, this cabin is your answer. The moment we walked in the door there was a sense of warmth and comfort. The cabin is older but renovated perfectly to maintain its old rustic charm while incorporating modern touches. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook. No need to bring oil or salt or any other items required to prepare a meal. We cooked several times and it was just as easy as being at home. The star of the property is the living room. With its comfy couches and recliners to its giant panoramic window, there is no lack of comfort and amazing Mountain View’s. If you’re like me the experience isn’t complete without a crackling fire in the fireplace. Wood is not provided but easily accessible at the country market for $5 a bundle a quarter of a mile down the street. Don’t pass up on this key feature of the experience. The loft is cozy and comfy with a queen futon. It is actually more comfortable than the master bedroom bed. We had some difficulties sleeping in the master because the bed was a little too firm and pillows and bedding not comfortable. The pillows almost sounded like they were wrapped in plastic, probably a protective cover, but unfortunately not comfortable. This is an easy fix by just adding a memory foam mattress cover and some nicer pillows to ensure a good nights sleep. This is a cheap fix that will make all the difference in the experience. I know that may seem petty but I don’t want that to be taken as criticism but hopefully constructive because the place is perfect and I will stay there every time I go to Colorado. The place is very clean and well maintained. If you want the convenience of being close to town and RMNP and still have the views you can’t ask for a better place. Long’s Peak is right out the window and the pictures don’t even compare to seeing it in person. We sat for hours in the comfy recliners watching the clouds bounce around and snow blow through the range. It’s 5 minutes to RMNP and downtown. There is several amazing restaurants within a half mile of the cabin. The owner, Eric, was quick to respond to any of our needs. As he states the place is “special” and that’s an understatement. Please, if you are looking for great views, close to town and RMNP, and want to feel at home, do not pass up on renting this place. It was better than I ever imagined. You won’t be disappointed.

Perfect Cozy Cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent Christmas at Kiefer Cabin and we could not have been more happy with it! Even though the weather was cold, snowy and windy, we were perfectly warm and comfy there. The cabin is beautifully decorated and the well stocked kitchen and the attention to every detail did not go unnoticed. We especially loved the large stone fireplace. The cabin really helped provide the perfect the "Rocky Mountain Christmas" feel we were hoping for. Eric could not have been any more helpful or accommodating. The only thing we wished for was a longer stay! Thanks Eric for a wonderful weekend. We hope to return to Keifer cabin soon. John and Susie DeFelice

Classy cabin with awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself and our daughter stayed in this beautiful and very well equipped cabin over the Thanksgiving holiday. We could not have been more delighted.

It was very tastefully decorated and had the most wonderful view of Longs Peak. We loved the armchairs that allowed us to enjoy it whilst we drank our coffee each morning. Plenty of deer passed outside our windows too.

We bought firewood in town so that we could enjoy the gorgeous fireplace. Very cozy! The cabin is a little outside of town and not walking distance but we had a couple of vehicles so that was no problem. We actually loved being a little more isolated. We were glad though that snow did not come in because without 4 wheel drive it might have been tough to use the driveway.

Everything worked and was obviously well taken care of. That isn't always the case with these historic cabins but this one has retained all it's historic character and yet had every modern convenience. We absolutely would stay again. It was a gift! Thank you so much Eric.

Adorable Cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our family of 5, including 3 young children. It’s bigger than it looks in pictures, very clean, comfortable beds, and every detail has been thought of. The kitchen had everything you could need, laundry supplies, board games, towels, blankets, etc. The location is great - close to town without being in the crowds and only 20 minutes to RMNP. There is even a small fenced yard area the kids could safely play in. The owner was very accommodating and even emailed some fun activity suggestions for the kids. We would love to come back in the summer and stay!
