great tucked away cabin to relax
was great size to accomodate both families. great access to the lake.
Safe, relaxing vacation
This cabin was absolutely perfect for what we wanted-a safe space to socially distance from others while visiting with extended family. The cabin is spacious and beautiful, and the private dock with kayaks made for hours of fun for our sons ages 8-11. Be aware there are no towels or washcloths so you will need to bring your own. The owner is kind, helpful and friendly!
Family get together
Fantastic week. Kids loved kayaks and paddle boat. Rented a pontoon for a great two days on the water.
Wonderful lakeside home! Everyone, kids/teens/adults had a fantastic time!
Tim was fantastic communicator and very helpful understanding/navigating the area.
Enjoyed the house very much!
The house is in a great spot with a lovely dock and deck. The water was perfect swimming. The great outside areas meant we spent almost all our time outside. That said, there was plenty of space inside too when we avoiding a storm or two. Moors Marina is super close and have fairly priced rental boats. The house shares a dock with the other property but wasn't a real issue. Thanks for opening up your house for our Fourth of July celebration!
Kentucky Dam creates the largest man made lake in the eastern United States. It backs up the Tennessee River for 184 miles and creates a lake that stretches south across the western tip of Kentucky and nearly the entire width of Tennessee. At maximum normal operating level, Kentucky Lake covers 160,300 acres.
More important than the project's size are the jobs it performs. Kentucky Dam is the spigot that TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) uses to help control floods on the lower Ohio and Mississippi rivers; it is the gateway to the Tennessee River waterway and is a major generating plant in the TVA power system.
Kentucky Lake is a magnet for vacationers and fishermen from a wide area of mid- America, with recreation use amounting to some 17 million visits each year. Along its nearly 2400 miles of cove-studded shoreline are many boat docks and resorts, 4 state parks, the Tennessee National Wildlife refuge, 48 public access areas, 2 county parks, 5 municipal parks, 2 state wildlife management areas, 10 group camps and clubs, 92 commercial recreation areas, and 3 small wildlife areas.
About Timothy Lewis
I was a US Navy pilot, and retired in San Diego in 1991. Jane and I started a business in our garage printing t-shirts, and now, over twenty-five year later, our son is running it. We looked for a place to buy for a vacation home, and having grown up in Southern Indiana, I had spent some time at Kentucky Lake as a teenager, and remember loving it. We still have family in the area, so we bought a lot and built Cabin on the Cove. We also stay in the cabin, so we want it to always be maintained and clean.
Timothy Lewis purchased this House in 1998
What makes this House unique
Guests seem to love our "air chairs" on the screened in porch. You can swing gently and drift off to the sounds of the lake and the forest around the cabin.
