To quote my grandson "awesome"
It was probably the coldest New Years in a long while for TN and it mattered not for our time at Birdsong Lodge. We loved the warm cozy fire and the invigorating hikes. (a great trail along the river is protected from wind) It was a great beginning for 2018.
Everything was as advertised. The kitchen was the best equipped of any rental we ever stayed at. The large open area of kitchen and great room made the need to stay inside for extended periods no problem for our family of 15. We even had room to dance on New Years Eve. The room with large TV was great for Bowl games as well as DVDs. Birdsong Lodge is a wonderful property and we would like to return to enjoy it in another season as well. The CA contingent of the family was enthralled with the icicles coming out of the rocks down by the bridge. And yes we also did a 'honky tonk' trip to Nashville and the Frist Museum.
It would be interesting to know more about the history of the property and the old bridge.
The group loved the house and surrounding acreage. We didn't get to use the fire pit as we had planned due to rainy weather but we enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch watching and enjoying the rain. The floor plan was great for the number of people (13) we had with us. No one felt like they were falling over each other and there were plenty of seats for dinner, couches and chairs for just relaxing. We must definitely would stay again the next time we come to Nashville if we have a big group.
Awesome house! Everything we needed was there.
What a beautiful place. Lots of room, comfortable and nice.
Love that it is the old Maxwell House!
Defineatly will visit again
It was everything we expected and more.
Beautiful Private Home for a Family Reunion
Our families from North Carolina, Kentucky, Texas & California all converged to Tennessee to celebrate my mom's 75th birthday. Not only were there plenty of spaces both outdoors and indoors for everyone to have their own space, but there was also many gathering areas for times together! The kids had games and toys, and the adults had the firepit, screened porch, and lovely kitchen and living room to visit within.
All in all, this location couldn't have been nicer. We made memories to last a lifetime, and the base of those memories was this historic lodge!
We cooked breakfasts at the lodge, as well as one big birthday dinner using the grill and kitchen items. There were plenty of plates, silverware, cups, etc., for us for the whole weekend, and an ample supply of spices and kitchen utensils.
The décor was beautiful and updated, but casual. Truly felt like we had found an oasis from having to book a hotel to having a family home to enjoy.
We'd come back in a heartbeat!
My daughter even left her wallet, and Jennifer sent it by UPS within 2 days...so easy to work with! She also recommended a great sitter for my nephew's kids so we could all go to the Grand Ole Opry one night. She was exceptional, too!
Loved, loved, this property!
Beautiful, peaceful property
Our family enjoyed this spacious, well appointed lodge for Labor Day weekend. There was plenty of room for everyone! The beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels and dishes, and decent water pressure. We never ran out of hot water. The perfect place to take a walk or fish in the pond, but also convenient to nearby stores (only 2 miles away). One of the fire alarms was chirping and needed the battery replaced, but we called maintenance and he was there in just a few minutes. Very friendly, and quick service! We have already started talking about making this place a family tradition. You won't be disappointed if you choose the Birdsong Lodge.
