Annual YaYa Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We get together every Fall, normally at family owned cottages in Michigan. This year, we decided to travel to Nashville area to connect with a long lost cousin who lives in TN. The Lodge was everything and more that we hoped for. Truly a lovely and spacious location. Everything was perfect! We cooked quite a few meals in the large, well appointed kitchen. Hung out on the front screened porch. Enjoyed walking the grounds. Had a beautiful evening by the fireplace... The Lodge is only about 20 minutes or so from Nashville, so we spent a day in-town, taking in the Pub Crawl. That was a lot of fun! Another day, we drove into Ashland City and went on the Blue Heron river cruise, then had a great catfish dinner at a restaurant overlooking the river. It was just the best trip. We had a lot of ages to please, ranging from 48-76. All of us enjoyed the trip. It would not have been the same staying at a hotel. The lodge offered us the space to split up in groups, but all still be together. The ladies especially loved the history of the place. Beds and accommodations were super comfortable. We did not have to ask for anything. It was all there and easy to find.

Beautiful setting in perfect location to enjoy all that Middle Tennessee has to offer.

Well appointed historical property with loads of charm. Plenty of space spread out or to have gatherings of friends. Kitchen is well appointed as are each of the bedrooms. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces and found ourselves spending long evenings sitting around the fire pit or on the patio. The owners could not have been more pleasant and helpful. One surprise was the pleasant town of Ashland, only 2or 3 miles away.... Super restaurant on the river and genuinely friendly folks.

Even the mother in law was impressed :-)

  • 5 of 5

Everyone at our Extended Family vacation really enjoyed the location and all of the amenities of Birdsong Lodge. We had 13 people; 4 married couples, (one with a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old child), plus a single mom and her 2 teenagers all staying at the lodge.

There was always plenty of hot water and the AC keep everyone cool. There are just SOOO many placed to gather and hang out at BirdSong Lodge: Kitchen, Living Room, TV room, front porch, back patio, Artist cabin, Deck at the artist cabin, 9 acres of grounds. And if you want to hide out there are 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms as well.

We arrived early, and even though we were early they let us hang out in the second house on the site while the main lodge was being cleaned. Owners are fantastic about communicating and making sure they are doing all they can to make your stay perfect. House is well stocked and thought out, even things like a spare propane tank for the grill..

When even my MOTHER IN-LAW raves about the location you know its a nice place. We were able to fit everyone in the kitchen for meals and I don't recall any missing kitchen tools or supplies. Our party likes to COOK. We even baked pies the one night for a birthday. The laundry is right off the kitchen and we loved the access to general cleaning supplies, paper towels, Windex, was really nice.

Stores – restaurants are close, Super Walmart it within 15 minutes, Food Lion grocery with in 5 – 10 minutes..

Beautiful place!

  • 4 of 5

This is an absolutely beautiful place. The grounds are amazing and the house is large, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. Everyone enjoyed their time from the young boys ('hunting' frogs, turtles, tadpoles in the creek) to the adults (enjoying the porch swing-bed and sighting deer, groundhogs) to our elderly mother. Ashland City is a short drive with grocery stores, eating places, and antique shops. The walking trail was a favorite stop for us all too for walking, running, and even 'hiking' for the boys. A special surprise stop was the house on the drive into Ashland City that sells fresh veggies. How fun!

We did seem to notice a lack of water pressure on some days even though the shower wasn't competing with another appliance (dishwasher, washing machine, shower). Odd....

A beautiful log home.

Lots of room both inside and outside for our whole family. Everything you need is there. The house is awesome inside. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Even the older children to the younger one's had a great time. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

I rented this property for a small family reunion/birthday celebration for five days and four nights

  • 5 of 5

The Birdsong Lodge ended up being the perfect venue for my family to get together to celebrate my father's 85th birthday. The property is very well-maintained in a beautiful and tranquil setting. The location was convenient to Nashville, but is definitely a rural setting.

We found it very easy to spend plenty of time together in the common areas yet very conducive to putting a little space between us when downtime was needed.

A couple of grocery stores within a few miles and a well-stocked kitchen allowed for easy meal preparation.

The owner of this property, while never seen, was available via email and willing to promptly respond to any issues, had we had any. My only complaint with this rental was that the wi-Fi, while free, was very sketchy. A small price to pay and a minor inconvenience at best.

My family and I would not hesitate to rent this property again if our needs should arise.
