Quaint & Cozy Maiden Voyage By The Sea , Steps from the ocean!!

A seasonal vacation cottage located steps from the ocean waves at Long Sands Beach. The cottage is a tastefully furnished detached quaint 3+ room (& porch), sleeping up to 5 people. There is a full size bed in the master bedroom, a pullout trundle in living room &/or can be converted into a full size bed, and an extra over sized chair bed on the porch. The bath is 3/4 with a shower. There is a HD flat screen cable TV, a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, a screened in porch for breezes, and a gas grill and lawn furniture to enjoy! This is a housekeeping cottage and guests will provide their own towels or request them. Sheets are provided.This is a very family friendly beach area.There is parking for up to 2 vehicles, tags will be provided. Please note: The cottage has been recently renovated to include open natural tongue & groove wood ceilings with fans in the living room & bedroom as well as bead board paneling & driftwood color laminate flooring. There are 2 air conditioners and free WiFi.
There are 2 air conditioners as well as electric baseboard heating for cooler weather. There is NO SMOKING allowed ANYWHERE on the property. I will be fined $250.00 and you will be asked to leave.
Please Note: There is a minimum stay of 5 nights for July and August.
Check in is after 3:00 & check out is by 11:00 A.M.

Strip any used beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Please leave used sheets in the laundry basket in the bedroom closet.
If the shower curtain is getting stained there should be replacements on the shelf in the bathroom.
Please bring your own bath, beach, & hand towels unless you are coming on a plane.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
The cottage is part of a condominium association and there is NO SMOKING ANYWHERE on the property, which means outside as well.
Please DO NOT leave windows open, air conditioners, or heaters on when you leave the property. The cottage cools down quickly and heats up quickly.

Great accommodations

We were there during some very rainy days. the cabin had all we need to just relax and enjoy our time. When the weather broke it was in a great location to enjoy shops, resturants and mainly the ocean.

Nanette's cabin was cozy and cute! I traveled with my children solo, ages 13, 11 and 7. We did just fine with the small space, but more than 4 may feel too cozy for some families. Just steps away from Long Sands Beach, we were able to easily enjoy the ocean and walking distance to shops and restaurants along the beach. The cabins in the neighborhood are quite close to one another with shared green space, but everyone in the neighborhood was kind and accommodating. The kitchen was well stocked and had pretty much everything we needed. Don't forget to bring your own sheets/pillowcase/towels (as we did). Wifi was fast and reliable. We'd definitely stay again. Thank you Nanette!

One Week, first time

Very nice cottage and well decorated. Too far for us from the family gathering north of Beacon, but we made it work by dropping off the beach gear in the morning and then walking back. Loved that it was air-conditioned, given the humidity. Well kept and clean and very cherry. Good for two, but wouldn't want more than that.

Decent for a quick trip... however

We were looking for a place that was near the beach and close to Kittery. This cabin is definitely within walking distance of the beach however the neighboring properties keep a close on you throughout your stay. It felt like throughout the stay whenever we looked out a window or went outside someone was watching us. We had read about the rules for the cabin community and were more than willing to follow (quite hours, no smoking, parking) however the other cabins do not follow these rules. Rules for thee but not for me definitely apply here. The spare key/ check in key is kept in a location that a few of the other properties know about and it definitely make you feel a little insecure when you leave or sleep. It is a nice clean cabin and the property manager had great communication but we would pass on staying here again.

Wonderful Beach Cottage

This little cottage is small but so much fun with all of the beach/seaside decor! There were only the two of us but with the pull-out bed on the porch and the trundle bed in the living room, the place could accommodate a small family or perhaps two very friendly couples. We found the kitchen well-stocked with everything we needed and the place clean and in working order. (We did not use the grill, so we can’t attest to its condition). It was great to have the outdoor furniture and to sit outside and hear and smell the sea while being tucked away from the crowds on the beach. It is a 2 minute walk to the water and we spent a few evenings watching the waves crash on the rocks, as well as plenty of time on the beach during the day. It’s the perfect spot for the beach at low tide, especially for kids, because it is at the end of the beach where there are numerous tide pools to explore and still plenty of sandy beach. The only suggestions we might make are that the dresser drawers be emptied of bedding, etc., as we could have used more storage space (perhaps a bed with drawers built in underneath?); the same goes for the bedroom closet, which had lots of stuff in it (maybe some shelving in the other closet would help with storage); a few more bath towels would have been helpful and since we were traveling we did not have our own beach towels with us (as is probably the case with most guests); these would have been helpful to have on hand.

This was a nice cozy cottage 1 block back from the ocean front. Walk to corner see beach.

Enjoyed the small cottage, very cute decor, confortable beds, walk a block to the ocean. Can walk to restaurants and general store, about a 1/2 mile. Quiet and pleasant area.

Cozy Cottage by the Ocean

This little cottage is perfect for two people who want to stay near the beach. It is indeed cozy. The living room and porch have comfortable seating and the bed gave us a good night's sleep. The kitchen is well equipped - dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, etc. There's an indoor table and an outdoor table, including plenty of chairs and an umbrella. The only downside is the proximity of the other cottages. They are very close together, which doesn't lend itself to privacy. However, the grounds are well-kept and it's very close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We loved it.

Cute cottage, convenient to beach!

Just a 2 minute walk to Long Sands Beach. Cozy for 5 guests. Full kitchen, one comfortable bedroom, small but adequate living room with air conditioner. Could use another air conditioner in the bedroom. Bathroom is tiny, with no exhaust fan. We had to replace the shower curtain liner. All in all, a wonderful week for our Maiden Voyage.

Cozy cottage with all you need.

The cottage was quaint and cozy. Everything you need is there and literally steps to the beach. We enjoyed our stay. The neighbors were friendly too. The beach was amazing. Got a three mile run in each morning. You can plan to visit Wells Harbor for kayaking, ogunquit for food and shops, Kittery Outlets, and Kennebunkport for more shopping and food. Portsmouth (downtown) also great for foodies and shops. We will be back.

I bought the cottage in 2005! It is my little piece of paradise. I want to share my love for the beach and my cozy cottage with families so they will be able to have these precious memories with their children for years to come! I am so blessed to be so close to the beach (literally steps away) with a magnificent view of the rocky coast and the famous Nubble Lighthouse!

Why they chose this property

I chose this property because I did not want to sit in traffic on my vacation. There are several restaurants very close by as well as the Trolley right around the corner. We have a lovely grass area for the children to play on. We are within walking distance of many amenities.

What makes this property unique

On our property there are 2 designated parking spots included with the rental. This area is a safe family oriented community where people come back year after year. There are many things to do: Kittery Outlets, kayaking, boating, walking the beach, fishing, Ogunquit Playhouse, Wild Kingdom Zoo, or just lounging around. It's your vacation and your choice as to what you'd like to do or not do.York Beach is one of the best hidden secrets I know! Come join us and become a part of The Maiden Voyage family!
