It has an elevator and all the amenities a traveller could be looking for. The living room holds a convertible sofa, which can sleep two people, a LCD television, and a large dining table.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a traditional and a microwave oven, a four burner stove, a refrigerator, and a dishwasher. The bathroom includes a combined tub/shower and a washer/dryer. The bedroom has a hotel quality queen size bed (160*200 cm or 64*80 inches). the apartment is fully air conditionned.

The location is very convenient to explore Paris. It is on the northern edge of Le Marais. The nearest metro station is Filles du Calvaire on line 8. There is a wide range of restaurants and a number of supermarkets in the immediate neighborhood and the trendy Rue de Bretagne is at your doorstep.

Great location in Paris

  • 5 of 5

We loved our spacious, well-stocked and located apartment. We could walk to a supermarket, a metro station or a restaurant in minutes. The elevator was essential, as was the washer, and we looked forward to returning to a very convenient "home" after a busy day in Paris. Check-in was easy, as was the transfer to and from the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

114 Rue Amelot

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is quite large for a Paris apartment and has a/c which is rare there. It has a great location between Place de Bastille & Place de Republic; 50 meters from a metro station; two blocks from a super market. There are alot of restaurants in the near neighborhood. The kitchen though small is nicely equiped with pots and pans and utensils. There is even a dishwasher. My only criticism is that the morning light floods the bedroom at 5am. The apartment could use shades or dark curtains in there. The manager Olivier is very responsive to questions and or problems.

Hip location - great Paris base - fabulous bed!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment had everything we needed for a brief stay in Paris in a perfect location on the edge of the 3rd and 11th arrondisements, close to the Metro and really great buses across Paris. Just off the busy Blvd du Temple, the rue Amelot is quieter, and close to every groovy cocktail bar we love: The Clown Bar downstairs, Le Mary Celeste and Pas de Loup nearby. Don’t miss your morning croissant and baguette from Du Pain, down the block. There is a Carrefour a block away, an ATM across the road, and the wonderful covered market, the Marché des Enfants Rouges, about a 10 minute walk away, with a fabulous Moroccan food stall. The apartment was spacious for two people, with sweet Paris rooftop views from the 5th floor windows and balcony AND an elevator to get up to the apartment. As we had to open our laptop for a bit of work the strong wifi was great, as were free phone calls to the US, and the big dining room table to work on. The living room was spartan, but met our needs and the big French door windows in every room provided great light. One warning: tall people watch your head in the toilet stall. The heating in each room was easy to operate and made our early Spring mornings very cosy. And then there was the bed. Truly, this is the best bed in any Paris apartment, hands down. Still dreaming about that bed, with the view across Paris from the windows.

Good location for a longer visit

  • 4 of 5

I stayed in this apartment for a month. It provided a great home base for exploring Paris. It was very easy to get around via the metro or bus, plus there were lots of sights (ex. Place des Vosges, Pere La Chaise cemetery, Marche des Enfants) and amenities within walking distance. This is not a high end, touristy neighbourhood so you feel like you are living among regular Parisians, which I enjoyed. The restaurant recommendations provided by the manager upon arrival are good, esp. Le Centenaire on the corner. The bars that are on the ground floor of the building generate a bit of noise at night but it cannot be heard from the bedroom. It is just the noise of conversation, not rowdy. There is an open air market nearby on Blvd Richard Lenoir (on Sundays plus other days) that is a must. It provides a huge selection of produce, fish, meats, cheese, and baked goods. There is also a Carrefour supermarket two blocks away and it has everything you might need.

The apartment is large and bright. It gets both morning and afternoon sun. It has all the amenities/appliances that are in the listing description. The building is old and this shows on the walls, stairs, etc. but the apartment itself was clean. Some of the furniture is a bit worn (such as the balcony chairs). I had a complaint when I first arrived and it was dealt with very promptly and satisfactorily by the property manager. I had guests staying in the living room and there was plenty of room for them and their suitcases. Having the toilet in a separate room from the shower/bath was useful when there were three of us getting ready in the morning. The dining room table easily seats six. In addition, the WIFI was very reliable. I did not use the air conditioning but there are units in both the living room and the bedroom. There are also radiators in each room. I use the bedroom one and it worked fine.

Comfortable apartment in great neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here for three weeks in January. I love this neighborhood, very much is walkable and the Metro station is right outside the door. The apartment itself felt spacious, and has a nice little balcony that overlooks a pleasant square. There are loads of great, trendy restaurants nearby, including the Clown Bar, right downstairs.

The bed is extremely comfortable, and if you can manage to catch the sunrise, it is spectacular from the bedroom window, which faces east and overlooks the rooftops of Paris. Every convenience to live was provided -- including a salad spinner! Overall, the apartment was bright and cheerful.

If I were to complain about anything, it would be that the salon furniture could use an update. The chairs are really not very comfortable, and the couch is servicable but getting a little shabby. Also, it was a huge convenience to have the washer/dryer combo, which worked well, but it is located a bit inconveniently in a bathroom closet, and is a little difficult to access.

That said, the TV and WiFi worked great, and I loved that I could make free calls to the U.S. -- specially helpful because I was in Paris for work.

Overall, I'd recommend -- especially for the location, the bedroom, and the balcony.
