SUMMARY This unique 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom Greek house located near Kampos Beach on the island of Patmos, Greece blends historic elements with modern conveniences and comfort. Dating back from the 18th century, this home has been significantly renovated with important all-new features for a relaxing, quiet getaway. The house is conveniently located 5 minutes away from Kampos Beach by foot; it is also very private, as the house is off the main road by taking a short and easy, 30-second walking path.
**The home is available for rent all year (please inquire about special pricing for rentals of over 1 month).**
THE SPACE UNLIMITED WIFI internet connection. Highest internet speed available for the area (50 Mbps).
UNLIMITED PHONE CALLS to all national (Greek) fixed lines. All-new cordless telephone.
LARGE BEDROOM, upstairs (all-new): 1) King-sized bed (which can also be converted to 2 single beds). 2) Premium pocket spring mattress and box spring, which adjust to your body, as well as help you relieve stress and relax completely. 3) 100% cotton sheets, with a satin weave of cotton to feel soft and pleasant on your skin. 4) 100% cotton duvet cover with duck feather filling, which “breathes” well and provides even distribution so you are not likely to get too cold or too hot. 5) 4 duck feather-filled pillows – 2 firm and 2 soft to provide for your individual needs. 6) Bedside table lamps adjustable in height to suit your lighting needs. 7) All-new, modern wardrobe closet for your clothes and belongings (not pictured). Also a dresser for other items. 8) Cabinet and hanging rail storage for your clothes and belongings. 9) Freshly painted classical blue shutters and windows that open to the garden, while protected with screens to keep the mosquitos out. 10) Beautiful bedroom views of the garden and countryside. 11) Air fan, as needed (there is also usually a good air breeze with the windows open).
MAIN FLOOR – LIVING ROOM, DINING, KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY areas (all updated): 1) Traditional Greek sofa/daybed, freshly painted white and with all-new upholstered cushioned seating and duck feather filled turquoise pillows. (NOTE: This sofa/daybed may be used as a bed for a small child, but is perhaps not suitable for an adult). 2) New dining table with freshly painted, traditional taverna chairs, seating 4 comfortably. 3) Updated kitchen, with bright and cheerful classical blue painted finish. 4) All-new stainless steel appliances -electric stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, automatic coffee maker (as well as a French press), hot water kettle and blender. 5) All-new dinnerware, glassware and silverware (serves 6) 6) All-new pots, pans and a variety of the most useful cooking preparation tools. 7) Washing machine with various temperatures. New iron and ironing board 8) All-new gray ceramic floor tiles for living room, kitchen and laundry/bathroom areas, giving a modern, soothing feel to the rooms. 9) Air fan, as needed (there is also usually a good air breeze with the windows open).
BATHROOM AND SHOWER (all-new or updated): 1) All-new modern shower – includes a contemporary “rain shower” head, as well as a more traditional handle nozzle. 2) All-new modern bathroom sink, vanity, mirror and cabinets. Includes new hair dryer. 3) All-new gray ceramic floor tiles for bathroom and shower areas.
ALL-NEW PLUMBING: You will always have plenty of water (hot and cold) for showers and sink usage (Note: sometimes this is a problem on Greek islands).
HERB GARDEN AND PATIO (updated): 1) Classic blue taverna table and chairs to enjoy the peaceful garden and countryside view. 2) Two (2) modern reclining patio chairs for greater comfort and relaxation. Accompanying table for dining. 3) Beautiful landscaped herb garden area that is walkable, as well as provides shade and privacy to the home, as desired. 4) Garden and home entrance areas include a fig tree, grapevines, pomegranate, myrtle, jasmine and oleander.
KAMPOS BEACH (HOUSE LOCATION) 1) The house is a short, 5 minute walk from Kampos Beach, one of the most renowned, popular, yet peaceful beaches on the island. Kampos Beach includes sunbeds for rent, watersports, beautiful trees, 2 tavernas and 2 beach bars/cafes (all highly recommended). 2) Other nearby popular beaches are Lambi, Vaghia and Livadi Geranou. 3) The house is approximately 10 minutes from the port (Skala) by car or motorbike.
GUEST ACCESS Entire home and garden area. There is also a fig tree in the garden (you are free to pick fresh figs!).
GUEST INTERACTION As I live in Los Angeles, California (USA), guests will primarily interact with one of my local house managers for any needs. If guests ever need to contact me directly, they are welcome to do so. I am 10 hours behind Patmos time.
If extra cleaning and/or late check-out (past 11am) is desired, a 48-hour notice is kindly requested via HomeAway (not with the local host). Approval is needed, and extra charges may apply.
OTHER NOTES The home is ideally suited for 1-2 people to share the upstairs bedroom. It may also be appropriate for a small child (3rd person) to sleep on the downstairs sofa (Note: Since the house has a flight of stairs, it may not be appropriate for the elderly and/or those with recent injuries). When reserving the house, please indicate your bedding preference (e.g. 1 king bed or 2 single beds), as well as if a child will be using the sofa downstairs.
All guests will be welcomed to the island at the port by one of my local house managers and be taken directly to the house. The house manager will review basic essentials of the home with all guests and also be available in-person and/or via phone if there are questions and/or issues.

Another wonderful stay
Another wonderful stay at this beautiful house. Perfectly positioned to enjoy the peace and magic of Patmos. We loved to be able to walk to the sea, the house is moments away from the most glorious beach. We will be back.

Un séjour agréable et reposant, parmi les vignes et les cultures maraîchères. Un aspect du charme de Patmos qui en recèle tant. La situation est proche de nombreuses plages.

Just what I needed, beautiful house, lovely quiet location, 5 mins from beach and local tavernas.. the bed was SO comfortable.. a rarity in holiday rentals are that was a huge plus.. host was super helpful. I will be back!

I am so excited to have you enjoy the house, as it was passed down to me from my Greek grandmother who lived in with her family in the early 1900's. Of course, it was built before that for previous generations as well. The renovations make the house enjoyable today, with modern conveniences, but still retaining a classic Greek style.

This home was completely renovated in 2016. It maintains a classical architecture, while updated with convenient, modern furnishings. I love the quiet privacy of the countryside and patio. At the same time, it is extremely convenient (short, 5 minute walk) to Kampos beach, what I personally feel is the best beach on the island of Patmos. At the beach, you can find peace and quiet, or a relaxed, social environment, for example, at George's Place (restaurant/cafe).
