We rented the condo on the fourth floor overlooking both the beach and golf. Comfortable all tens days. Rained one day. Ate out quite a few days/and suppers. Overall the stay was great. Will be back next year year/spring.

The front room balcony door does not seat properly and when we have high winds the whistling is so loud you can hardly hear the tv.

Reviewer Comments: The condo at Surf Dweller was very nice.Working around around the contractors created a hardship due not being able to use the beach restrooms and having to go to your room to use restrooms. Quite a walk multiple times a day. Walking on plywood was not a safe way around the facility for temporary passage way to front of building.

Three best friends on our annual beach trip❤️

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing week at Surf Dweller 409. One of the main reasons we decided on this unit was the living room furniture. Having the sectional sofa plus a recliner was a real selling point for us. We are 3 “golden girls” and so nice to each have a comfortable place to relax - other than the beach! This is our 10th year vacationing together on Okaloosa Island and we decided this is one of our favorite condos. We like that it is so close and convenient to the beach. And to our favorite place to eat - Stewby’s Seafood Shanty. The condo was very clean and we even got to check in early. We loved the roomy kitchen and it had everything we need plus more, which was a bonus. We had no issues that had to be addressed. We have used Brooks and Shorey Resorts in the past and they are great to work with. Looking forward to spending year 11 here next year!!

Such a Beautiful View

Reviewer Comments: Positives: Nice living room, updated kitchen, good set of utensils, new washer, plenty of nice clean towels, plenty of dishes and glasses, luggage carts were very helpful. Beach staff were excellent.Negatives: Toilet in master bedroom was running after flush, guest bathroom needs toilet paper holder installed, silverware had been run through garbage disposal (need some new silverware). Corkscrew broken, we bought one and left it there. Need a real TV in guest bedroom, computer screen is not sufficient. You can't see it at all from bed.

The good, the bad, the ugly….

We stayed at the Surfdweller 409 May 27-June 3. The location of the property is fine if you are okay with driving everywhere. We did make the walk down the road to Stewby’s one evening and while it was long, it was fine for us. My MIL however, stayed back as she couldn’t make it that far. The beach was stunning. It was clean and the beach service was very nice. I only went to the pool once, but it was very well maintained. The room was a bit disappointing. I hesitated booking this unit because of the carpet, but did anyway. Huge mistake! The carpet was old, stiff, and smelly. They had shampooed it before we got there but it may have made it worse. It smelled like animal urine and mold. I had to buy air fresheners at the store. The bed in the primary suite was very hard and springy and we both had back aches the whole time. My kids (21 and 17) said their beds weren’t bad. The toilet in the primary suite needs some attention as I thought it was going to come out of the floor every time I used it. The kitchen was beautiful, but the oven took forever to preheat and the dishwasher didn’t really clean the dishes. The balcony is spacious but the furniture wasn’t very nice. Overall, the unit could use a little TLC. I went for the beach and was more than happy with that. I would stay at the Surfdweller again but definitely not in this unit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the large balcony & view. The living area was very spacious. Overall it was good. There was a recliner which was great! And loved the view of ocean & door to balcony from main bedroom. Plenty of hanging space & drawers for clothes. Loved there were lots of books & games. On the downside... Could do with an upgrade in kitchen. We were disappointed in the cleaning - we're not over the top about cleanliness and this is the first time we've ever been disappointed in this area but it was also our first time staying at the Surf Dweller. The 2 main elevators were out of order when we arrived. One was repaired by the next day but the other remained out of order. The hot water in main bathroom sink took a very long time to heat. Shower was fine. Overall I would stay there again but would ask that the cleaning be upgraded. We felt like we needed to wipe things down - visible dried food on eating table (not the whole table but in a few spots) and when I turned the utensil cannister around to see the design better it looked like there was dried pancake batter on the side of it that was turned away. Little things like this added up... balcony chairs had some 'chocolate' smudges on the seats & the table appeared unwiped at all. Once we wiped things down as we noticed the need, we felt better. We're not people who like to complain but thought you should know because it makes a huge difference in the overall feel of the place. It wasn't as though the whole place was lacking in cleanliness but there were so many areas that you could visibly see were 'missed' in cleaning that it made the whole place 'feel' unclean. The bedroom mirror was very smeared. I think it had been wiped but not well enough to clear the smear. Anyway we still had a great time & once we had been there a day or two & wiped things down as we used things, we felt comfortable & enjoyed our stay. So yes... I'd stay here again if we couldn't find another place we liked but we'd ask for better cleaning.

Fun, nice vacation, some maintanance issues

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a nice condo on a beautiful beach, but we had some issues which we reported and were not able to be resolved during our stay. Something was wrong with the A/C unit where it was putting out very humid air which made it feel sticky and kept things, esp the floor, feeling sticky and damp. This seemed to stay despite lowering the temp and being looked at by maintenance. The bedroom lamp was obviously broken and looked at by maintenance and not fixed or replaced leaving only the other lamp to light the master bedroom. Overall we had a nice stay at a beautiful beach.

Great kitchen

Very outdated, needing to do some upgrades. Kitchen was the best part. Living room chair had a nail sticking out, several family meme bees ruined shirts by getting snagged on chair. One child cut her finger. There were also nails sticking up from carpet going from dinning room to living room and the master bedroom. Paint peeling from bathroom walls. Patio furniture was awful. Wicker seating was uncomfortable and pillows were deformed. Sliding glass doors had no locks. Dryer took several attempts to dry clothing. Would not stay at this unit again.
