Worst experience

I have never since 2013 renting Home Away/VRBOs left a bad review. Well here it is. Upon initiating dialog with the owner, I had a couple of questions. I received automatic generated response. I responded that my questions were not answered. Received another automatic generated response. Being that we were headed there the next day... I called the number listed for owner multiple times and got busy signal. I had to call VRBO to express my concerns that I received NO check-in instructions. VRBO reached owner. He called and left me a message advising me to call 10 min before arrival and someone would be there to meet us and explain check-in. We called upon arrival and were told the unit was unlocked and to just go in. Ok... took a SHORT nap. Was awoken by my husband advising there was a group of people outside waiting for our condo. What?? We could stay or move or get a refund. Mind you we had already settled in. Everything in fridge put away....This was a large group of friends and/or family awaiting our condo. It was not their fault the owner double booked the condo. We did not want to split this family up....so we chose to move to another condo. I was literally called a liar, when I told him the phone # was busy. Then he said I didn't follow check-in procedure. I never got any! Worst experience and communication I have ever dealt with. So the other condo we transferred to, the fridge smelled like rotten dead fish. I could still go on but this should be sufficient. Do not recommend. He will probably call me belligerent but from the initial communication (there was none) this is completely unacceptable. I will same Jim, I don't know his job title, was great. He was a gem. So kudos to him.

This was a double booking on behalf of VRBO, we made our best attempt and not to cancel the guest reservation and allocated them to a partner Resort on the same property with similar amenities and layout. Guest was advised to contact us 10 minutes prior to arrival and we would greet them on site and guide them through check-in. They ended up arriving on site and walking into a unit that was reserved for another guest. The door has been left open for the other guest after requested for a contactless check in. When the correct guest arrived, we had discoveredSheila had checked into the property herself instead of contacting us so we could allocate her to the correct unit. We apologized profusely to the guests and tried to move them over to another unit that was managed by the local Resort. The guest was intoxicated, belligerent, cursing out two of our staff members even though we apologize profusely. We offered a full refund if they were not happy so they could go elsewhere or the opportunity to move to the other unit which was designated for them. The husband was completely happy but Sheila was not.

Enjoyed and very relaxing view...went to restaurant outside property and loved that we didn't have to go anywhere it was right outside the door...loved my stay and will look for this property again

Relaxing, but not Quiet

The property is nice, but the insulation between the top floor and the bottom could be better. I don't know how many people were staying in the apartment above me, but all day and into the night it sounded like a heard of elephants and got quite annoying. Overall the place was great and it was nice to be able to fish from the balcony. All the amenities were exceptional as well. If I stayed at this place again, I would get a top floor space.

Guest said they worked in the medical industry and would santize the house before and after, that's how clean they claimed to be. Left the unit very messy, kitchen a mess with sticky floor, counter top and dirty dishes all over. Smoked in the unit and covered smoke detector which is a safety violation

One problem was no curtains in Windows didn't help third person sleep. Otherwise we love it each time we go. Third trip.

Rugs and chair were filthy, bed was awful, noise from upstairs was terrible and went on all night, WiFi did not work, I could go on. I will not stay again. The view was the only nice part.

Kathy, we are sorry you didn't have an enjoyable time. We offered you to a two bedroom condo when you found out that you had reserved a one bedroom unit. We understand that these things happen however you stated you were fine and would make it work. Instead you had a bad experience trying to cram your guests into that space. With regards to the chair and rugs, we were not able to find any filth on them. You never reached out to our 24/7 staff to discuss any items you were unsatisfied with, thus not allowing us to assist you in any manner. Please try to communicate with your staff next time you have any issues, we are here to ensure you have a wonderful stay.

Having led an active lifestyle in the Houston area for 40 years and Lake Conroe for almost 10 years, I've become an 'unofficial' expert on southeast Texas and the local area.

I can provide you valuable 'local insight' regarding day trips to Galveston, NASA Space Center, Houston and the Woodlands, as well as the nearby Sam Houston National Forest and the towns of Willis, Conroe and Montgomery.

It will be my pleasure to assist you in any way that I can. Just ask!

We take great pride in our high percentage of be-backs (guests that have stayed with us before and have decided to return, sometimes 3 or 4 times a year).

And remember, we specialize in special occasions; birthdays, family get togethers, anniversaries and marriage proposals.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We chose the Seven Coves area of Lake Conroe for two primary reasons.

First, we just couldn't get very excited about being on the south side of the lake (the 'popular' side). Down there, the lake is too far from the freeway, there's way too much traffic and you can't find the expansive view that we enjoy so much!

More importantly, our property is unique on the lake in that it has a private balcony that actually hangs over the water. We instantly fell in love with this feature!

Every one else has a strip of grass, a sidewalk or a dock between the unit and water. Not so at our place, if you drop something off the balcony,...it WILL make a splash!

Furthermore, the location is close to perfect in many ways. Having a marina and boat ramp right next door on one side, and a resort next door on the other side makes enjoying the lake extremely convenient.

We pay an annual fee to both entities so that our guests can take full advantage of their amenities and everything is within reasonable walking distance (you can drive but you don't have to).

No matter what you do, the lake is always in the background...from the swimming pool to the tennis and basketball courts and the covered playground...the view of the lake is always there!

Personally, I find it extremely relaxing. And, I know our guests do as well!

When prospective customers ask me to confirm that the unit is actually on the lake, I enjoy reassuring them by saying, 'It couldn't be any more on the lake, unless it was IN the lake'.

Invariably, when they arrive, they say something like, 'Wow, you weren't kidding. We are definitely ON the lake!'.

It generally makes for some interesting conversation and our guests are always impressed with our expansive view of the lake!

If you have any interest in fishing, opportunities abound. With a wide variety of species, Lake Conroe is known for good fishing. You can try 'em from your balcony or from over a mile of shoreline and docks or the covered and lit community fishing pier.

Somebody is catching something virtually every day of the year. It might as well be you!

And remember, if you need some poles, just ask!

Whether your passion is boating, jet skiing, fishing, golf, tennis, swimming, biking, or just relaxing in a wonderfully natural environment; our luxurious units provide a perfect launching point for all of these activities!
