Casa de Praia Privada em Frente ao mar

Cozy cottage directly on the private beach in Charlestown, RI with unimpeded ocean view of Block Island Sound. Waves crash in on the beach in front of the house. Sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms and a large private loft area with a queen sized bed, well-equipped kitchen, outdoor shower, BBQ, parking for 3 cars. Sheets, bath towels and kitchen towels provided. Bring your own beach towels. Beach chairs and umbrella provided.

The space
Ocean is crashing in outside your door on your own beautiful private beach. Enjoy the beach with chairs and an umbrella or sit on the terrace and look out at Block Island while you sip a cold drink. Wake to the sounds of birds on the pond behind the house and listen to the gulls cry as they fly up an down the coastline. Outdoor shower is a wonderful way to end the day. Perfect for a week at the shore or a quick 3-day get-away.

Guest access
The cottage is on pilings so it sits high above the beach. It has a front porch with a barbecue and table with umbrella for dining outside. The front yard is beach grass and sand with a path leading to the ocean.

Interaction with guests
Will provide guests with an information sheet listing local restaurants and some basic info. I will answer any questions you have while you are there.

Four legged friends are welcome for an off-the-leash vacation on the beach! Pet fee $30/day per pet. Stay in the area to enjoy kayaking, clamming, fishing or body surfing. Explore the neighboring areas including historic town of Newport and the quaint village of Watch Hill. Take the Block Island Ferry for a day trip to the island across the sound and ride a rented bike around the dunes. Have lunch in Ballards or enjoy a drink while the sun sets before taking the ferry back to the mainland. Enjoy the bountiful seafood with Buck a Shuck at Matunuck Oyster Bar or pick up your own fresh fish and grill it on your balcony while enjoying the ocean breeze.

Best beach house

It is awesome to wake up and walk directly onto the beach. And double awesome to have your pets with you. House is extremely clean and updated. Host is extremely responsive and I plan on returning.

Azure Cottage

Our stay at the Azure Cottage was truly the best. What a wonderful fully equipped cottage. Being able to sit on the deck and watch the waves crashing in was magical. We loved walking along the beach. The Rhode Island shore is one of the best.

Absolute Perfection

Very nice beach cottage

Beach house was well kept and functional. Beach was impressive and the restaurants in Charlestown and Newport was a highlight. Thanks Elizabeth and Vrbo for giving my family and best friend (Myla) a memorable time. We will be back.

Quaint Beach getaway

Absolutely stunning views. Charlestown is a pretty sleepy town in October so it was nice and quiet on the beach. The host was great and checked in with us during our stay. She gave very clear instructions prior to visiting and provided local recommendations. We hope to be back next fall.

Beautiful location

The house is right on the beach (on stilts) Everything was wonderful, clean and the sound of waves at night were the best. Sunrises we’re spectacular. Last day featured high surf and thundering waves. Can’t wait to go back

Poor communication

Poor communication. Number listed went to owner’s mother who did not have record of my booking. That being said, I never stayed there due to personal circumstances. Place looks awesome and it looks like most people who stay there love it. I just had a negative experience trying to obtain a refund due to the confusion with her mother telling us the place was double booked. Spent hours on the phone with vrbo customer service who said they had contacted the owner to ask her to send me a refund. Never got it. Again, I’m sure the place is great and I wish things had worked out.

Beach front!

The location was perfect! Best way to start the day was sitting on the deck, drinking coffee, and watching the waves. House had everything you needed and we checked out local clam shack about 1.5 miles down road which was delish, albeit a little pricey. We left “chutes and ladders” for next guest that stays with kids. :)

I'm an active sailor and passionate cook/baker who enjoys traveling and am planning to retire in Portugal in a few years. I'm a financial services lawyer and this is my only rental property that I use with my family and friends when I am in the US. I very much enjoy hosting and value guest feedback on how I can make the house more comfortable for guests.

I spent summers in Watch Hill and Charlestown as a child with my aunt and cousins so the area has always been special to me. The ocean front location just can't be beat.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

On the beach with salt water ponds behind the house, the location is truly unique. There is amazing wildlife with all sorts of birds nesting in an around the ponds. There are deer and rabbits that come out in the evening when it's quieter, and occasionally we get a seal on the beach in front of the house. She uses the neighbors front lawn as a sort of playpen for her baby while she goes back out hunting.
