About this property

Superb Northland Location

Comfortable, basic three bedroom bach, rustic in places. There is a track from the bach which leads to a beautiful, secluded bay and it is only a five-minute walk to Tokerau Beach and Parakerake Beach. It is also only a 5 km drive to stunning Matai Bay. This area boasts some of the best fishing in NZ, beaches, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking.

Please note that this is a traditional kiwi bach whereby tenants are required to take their own linen etc and leave the house clean and tidy.

Travelled 2hrs. Family of 5 spent a beautiful day at Ngati Kahu Fun Day at Matai Bay. Knew we were going to be tired so booked this home. It has everything you need. Access was easy, thank you for the flowers. Kids enjoyed their stay and had a great sleep. We would love to stay again the the future. Only suggestion: chuck a bucket on chimney so the birds don't fly down.

Bach by the beach

The walk down the track was great, lead to a beautiful private beach. House was as expected just a basic old school batch. Some where to rest your head after your days at the beach. The location is great & quite private, with a hige back lawn! Great big deck to relax on after a day of swimming.

Unfortunately the house was old Musty the furniture needs updating. I felt the putside was better than the inside. My viewing of the house inside was a walk in and walk out. For the amount of money i paid for 3 days was not worth the stay. Unfortunately me and Partner resulted in anither accommodation.

This traveller did not stay at the property and changed their booking from 7 nights to three nights a few days before they were due to arrive so I am guessing plans changed. It’s an old bach in a remote location and may smell a bit musty if it’s been shut up for a while.

Classic bach

Great wee bach - is definitely the typical old Kiwi bach and perfect in this regard - has everything you need. Highly recommend the path down to the beach, is only five min to a beaut wee cove. Nearby beaches are all stunning. Great value for money!

A nice spot; however a ‘Tired Bach’.

Meagre facilities and poorly maintained, particularly inside, with electrical and plumbing needing attention. Some power points, light fixtures and toilet cistern top of the list. The location has lots to offer with a reasonable walk to a lovely small beach. Also with Tokerau beach a short drive away and some supply options just down the road.

Good location and great price for a larger group. Lovely walk down to a beautiful beach - great for swimming and a safe beach for young kids. Property could have been a bit cleaner though. Upstairs was very light and hot, but there was a little fan we could use.

Basic Bach close to beach

Basic Bach that has all you need for the rate paid. I do think that the carpets need replacing and the bathroom is quite dated. A microwave would have been nice. There are 2 short walks through forest to local beach which are lovely. It’s not advisable for families with small kids as main bedroom is downstairs - we slept upstairs with the kids. Had to get rid of our rubbish as no bin available. Owner communicated well - thanks.

Cheap but few issue.

No any microwave in the property and major issue was our Rubbish. We were told to take Rubbish with us from property owner and dump it in transfer station which was nearby but were closed on every tuesday. I bought council bag but saw some dog in other properties so couldn't leave there. Can't explain how i travelled from this property to whangarei till I dumped my Rubbish.
