About Bruce Murray
From the owner - Liz Williams: Originally from Liverpool. I have lived in Australia since 1977. I am now retired, but was a Hospital Social Worker, specialising in Aged Care. In retirement I have leased the property to Kirkland Parton Pty Ltd, and Mr Bruce Murray is the manager. Although he is shown as a new member (2019), he has been assisting me with bookings on Stayz, and then HomeAway since April 2016.
Why Bruce Murray chose Margaret River
Liz bought the Margaret River property as an empty lot in 2004, and built the house in 2007. She had it solely as a holiday home for some years before entering the short term rental market in 2015. She liked the location of the property for its convenience and ambiance.

Forrest setting close to town
Pet friendly and lovely walking tracks and close to town. Living area is upstairs with fire place ground level. Kitchen needs more drinking glasses but otherwise everything you need is there. No staples or pantry though. We found the overall experience very relaxing and comfortable. Would stay again
Thanks for your review, Jemma, and your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hosting you again in the future,
Fantastic spot. short walk to the middle of town and Restaraunt’s and bars. Set amongst the trees with a little brook at the back door. Great for wa weekend get away or a weeks stay.
Thanks, Janet. These are the sort of reviews we like, and we'll keep working to maintain the standard.
Beautiful peaceful location
The Holiday house is set in a beautiful peaceful location, amongst the trees.
We enjoyed being able to walk to town.
The kitchen is very well equipped, very comfortable living area upstairs. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Many thanks for your words of praise, Sandra. This is the response we strive for. We hope to host you again in the future.
This is a great, spacious house in really beautiful surroundings.
The house is clean and tidy, with all the basics available.
Only downside is the parking which if arriving in the dark (like us) was a bit daunting but got the hang of it by the end of the weekend.
Thanks for your comments. We're glad you managed the parking ok. We are used to it , of course, but we'll look into improving lighting.
Cute House in the forest yet just a short walk into town
Lovely location that really feels like you are away from everything yet it's within an easy walk of the town.
The key lock box is great as there is only one set of keys. It meant we were able to leave the keys in the box & whoever returned first could get into the house. We had three cars there and parking was a bit tricky especially when the small minded neighbours (Cheers Tours) coned off 'their' bit of forest parking area that we had used to turn around.
The reason for the 4* rather than 5 is the beds. It's great that all the beds had electric blankets (July in MR is cold) but the queen beds creak quite loudly. I'm a light sleeper & any movement caused the bed to creak which woke me up.
Thanks for your review, Erica. Comment re the beds we haven't had before, but we'll certainly have a look at the issue. We're glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise.
Very happy overall.
Our group from Perth, Canberra, and the USA all enjoyed our stay and would book the property again. The only negatives were:
1) No heating in the downstairs bathroom.
2) Mattresses in the downstairs two bed bedroom were like hammocks
3) Not enough electrical sockets in convenient locations.
Thank you for your feedback. We welcome all comments which enable us to exercise our policy of continual improvement. We are also happy that you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to welcoming you again sometime in the future.
