This house sits on one of the most beautiful sites in the world. The ground floor consists of the bathroom, main bedroom and 'cabine' bedroom. Upstairs has a fully fitted kitchen and open plan living/dining area. Every room offers superb views. The interior is quite small however there is ample outdoor space, the large sea facing terrace gets the sun from early morning until evening, in addition to the main outdoor dining table there is a light portable dining table which you can take to other parts of the garden to enjoy the different views or indeed to get in or out of the sun, there is also a BBQ on wheels supplied. There is an exterior stone staircase which links the two floors. There is no interior staircase. It's located on a hill overlooking the sea and vineyards just a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk to the lively village of Port Vendres. It is on a private two acre site with pine and eucalyptus trees ideal for hanging the hammock in the shade from which you can enjoy the sea and vineyard views while listening to the wonderful sound of silence! There is a steep driveway up to the house so it is not entirely suitable for the elderly or those with mobility problem. As the interior of the house is quite small, for your own comfort, we feel that 6 people is the maximum we can take in one group. Previous guests have described this house as 'magical' and 'a little corner of paradise'. One week may not be enough! Feel free to ask about our last minute booking deals.

About Suzanne O'Reilly
I am Irish and have lived in France for about 20 years. My partner is French and we have two little ones. We live all year round in the Pyrenees Orientales. I toured the world throughout my twenties but when I stumbled across Collioure and Port Vendres I knew instantly that I had found my new home. It is handy for our guests that we are close-by for any tips on the region or assistance that may be required during ones stay.
Suzanne O'Reilly purchased this House in 2002
Why Suzanne O'Reilly chose Port-Vendres
We choose to live in this part of the world because of it's sheer beauty, mild year-round climate, fantastic people, top quality wine, superb Catalan cuisine, beautiful clean beaches... need I go on?! It is easy to access with several low cost airlines flying into Perpignan, Gerona and Carcassonne and now one can fly from Dublin to Perpignan direct with Aer Lingus! Hurray!
What makes this House unique
Our villa is ideal for those who love nature, walking, snorkeling, diving, golfing, sunbathing, cycling, fine wines and gourmet dining or simply swinging in the hammock admiring the sea view! The house is extremely private, the gardens are huge and yet you are just a short stroll from the town and the beaches. Excellent wifi access.

Great location, great holiday !
This is a great little place, very secluded and yet in easy reach of the beach and town. Lovely walking along the road over to the lighthouse and to the coves beyond - and then coming back for a snooze in the hammock, all good... !
Suzanne is very friendly and helpful - this is highly recommended.
Thank you Martin for this great review, it was a pleasure to have you and your family stay at our house, we look forward to welcoming you back some time in the future.
Suzanne and Matthieu.
Private, quiet house with a view of the sea
We loved our stay at this secluded house with its outdoor terrace and view of the sea. Walking out of the driveway into a national park was pretty fabulous. The owners couldn't have been more helpful with the house and steering us in the right directions in town. They are delightful people. And they are completely discreet, but warmly available if necessary. We don't really want to review this house, so no one will discover this special spot, but we can't help but recommend it!
Many thanks for your review. We are glad that you consider our home a special spot. It was our pleasure to have you as our guests and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
Amazing location with med and vineyard views
Myself and my family stayed in this pretty little house for a week this September. We loved the privacy and tranquility of the location which offered us breathtaking sea views. There are private little beaches and coves within a short walking distance which we had all to ourselves. Port Vendres, the nearest town has lots of interesting little shops and restaurants and Collioure, a 5 minute drive away, well worth a visit. We popped down to Spain ( Half an hour) via the coastal route and were enchanted with the little villages along the way. There is a LIDL in Port Vendres as well which was perfect for buying the essentials ( check out the little beach beside it which we discovered by chance)
The house itself was spotless and well equipped with one large double bedroom and a bunk bed area for our two kids. We ate outside on the spacious terrace for all of our meals which was a treat.
As an added bonus, the vigneron was harvesting his grapes in the vineyard beside us which was fascinating to watch.
We will definitely be back. As my daughter sang ' I don't like it. I love love love it' !!
An amazing romantic serene location by the sea
We arrived by car and the drive up to the house from Port Vendres was breath taking with a panoramic view of the sea. Our holiday home was just what we expected having reviewed it online before we arrived. Set in a private location in the middle of vine yards with a view of the Med from our balcony yet within walking distance from the beach. Our accommodation was spotless with terrace and living quarters upstairs to maximise the view. We could sit sipping our local wine watching the sun setting without being overlooked by anyone. The holiday was most peaceful and relaxing away from the busy crowded beaches elsewhere in France. Definitely to be repeated.
La dolce vita
We've been coming back to this lovely place for several years. Close to the sea and a superb fish-restaurant (Le Poisson Rouge, highly recommended), and with a tranquil atmosphere between the vines. Highly recommended!
Away from it all..
We stayed in this little house in the hills above Port Vendre with our two dogs for four weeks in July. The place overlooks the sea and we spent many evenings watching the boats go in and out of the harbour. The house had all we needed for our stay. We explored the many footpaths through the hills and found little coves to sunbathe, bought fish from the local fishermen and visited the nearby towns. The little train that takes you through the vines to Collioure is a must! Also visit the local art exhibitions in the building above the square, and shop in the market on the weekend. We had a great time with space to get away from it all and relax.
This is a very peaceful location, ideal for those who enjoy nature, yoga, walking, snorkelling, swimming, sailing and any water sports.
We can provide tailor made language courses with professional teachers:
French or English classes.
We can recommend local trustworthy babysitters.
There are several beaches within a 10 minute walk. Some are sandy while others are stony. It is an excellent area for fishing or snorkeling and very safe for swimmers of all levels.

From the villa allow a 20 minute walk to Port Vendres village, 15 minutes to beach, 20 minutes to the stunning lighthouse of Cap Bear. It is an hours walk to Collioure. There is a tourist train and boat services along the coast as well as an SNCF train station in the village for easy access to Perpignan city and Spain. There are many diverse and wonderful places to visit within a half hour drive including Banyuls sur Mer, Argelas, Elne, Chateau Valmy - a haven for wine lovers.
There is an excellent variety of restaurants in Port Vendres village. It is a well lived in village all year round with a market on Saturday mornings and a daily fish market with oyster bar. It is a relaxed, typical Catalan village with everything you could need, supermarkets, pharmacy, banks etc
