About Diana Carbonell

I've been a resident of Homer since I drove up in my "72 VW camper in the spring of '92. I spend my free time skiing, hiking, camping , playing ice hockey and hanging out with my dog and my clever, handsome and charming boyfriend (he helped me write this)

The house was designed by a friend from High School who became an architect. I liked the house so much I gave him a kidney for it.

Diana Carbonell purchased this house in 1999

Why Diana Carbonell chose Fritz Creek

Even friends who own local view property comment on how great the view is from this property. It's away from the relative bustle of Homer and with the Fritz Creek General Store and it's post office, liquor store, gas, grocery and deli just down the road, a person hardly needs to go to town at all. Plus in the summer the Homestead restaurant and bar is open just across the street from the store for convenient drinking and driving. Just kidding, don't do that.

What makes this house unique

I'm pretty sure this is the only area property that is a one bedroom private house, with a beautiful bay view and if you like, you can bring along your dog.

Best rental in Homer

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place! The view is incredible, and the house is perfect. It's easy to just sit and stare out the window at the inlet, mountains and glacier. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay while in Homer. We definitely will be back on our next weekend trip.

Stunning view

  • 5 of 5

My husband, pup and I all came for a little staycation. The house itself is beautiful, but the views you get from it are breathtaking! It’s definitely a dog friendly house. The owner provides a bowl of treats and dog bed (even though my dog wouldn’t lay on the bed). The owner left great trail suggestions that we took advantage of. The home was extremely clean. This rental exceeded our expectations, and I hope we get the chance to stay here again!

Breathtakingly gorgeous view in a jewel box of a home.

  • 5 of 5

The home is modern yet has a cabin feel to it with a gorgeous view of the bay. My dogs loved it there, it must have had been filled with good dogs before us because they were content to sleep on the dog cushion and just stared out the window at night. We really enjoyed the deck, just sitting there watching the bay, then the stars at night. It is a perfect place for Alaskans with dogs or tourists who want a clean place that has a view with a contemporary flair and some bells and whistles, tasteful furniture, modern chic shower, nice hard wood floors, all the amenities without the sticker shock! It is close to town and cross country skiing and hiking trails. I have visited everywhere in Alaska, this was one of the best VRBO's I have stayed in so far.

Fritz Creek Fun

  • 5 of 5

We visit annually and found our " spot " now :)

Being a lover of nature photography and watching the sky, I was thrilled just sitting by the windows, camera ready. We have family living within 2 miles distance so we also enjoyed many hours of family time and it felt like home. This year's trip included several snow showers and our Grandson's 1st Birthday! Great location for winter sports, perfectly designed and furnished with no detail missed! Main indoor attraction: the cooks in my family, hubby , daughter and son in law, loved the professional stove! We shared lots of love & good food , watched the sunrise thru sunset and all of natures beauty at this stunning place!

Peaceful and

  • 5 of 5

The view is stunning. My boyfriend and I stayed for one week and this home had everything we needed. We cooked a lot, and all of our meals were enjoyed while looking out the big picture windows at the glaciers. I also enjoyed the view while drinking coffee on the back porch every morning. This is a peaceful and relaxing place, and though I never got to meet the owner, she was very pleasant and easy to work with.

Remote setting with all the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

Pictures fail at capturing the grandeur and staggering beauty of this property. Rugged mountains, sweeping forests, glaciers, and even the Homer spit are visible from the large picture windows. I enjoyed seeing the spectacular fall colors and watching the clouds settle on kachemak bay. The home is tastefully decorated with beautiful artwork and gorgeous flora. It is also well stocked with everything you'd need to prepare a five course meal. The furniture and bed was very comfortable. Thank you Diane for sharing your wonderful home! I will definitely be staying here again.
