About Dr Selcuk Ozceada
A Turkish Cypriot by birth with British nationality. I have lived 15 years in Cyprus, 25 in London, 5 in Norway and 13 years in Turkey. I have a degree and masters in Biochemistry, PhD in Immunology and an MBA, all from UK. Currently I am the Managing Director of Bosfor Bioscience Partners, a pharmaceuticals business development consultancy and owner of a pharmaceutical wholesaling wharehouse in Cyprus. I previously served as Under Secretary to the Ministry of Health in North Cyprus. Nowadays I spend half my time in Istanbul and half in Cyprus. I also have a flat in Pimlico, London.

Almost uniquely in Krenia, the apartment is like a private house as there is only one apartment on each of the 3 floors. The ground floor apartment has its own entrance, while the staircase only serves the two apartments on the 1st and 2nd floors. The other two apartments in the building are owned by owners's sisters. The garden with olive, orange, lemon, figs, Japanese plum) is shared among the apartments. Guests have 2 car parking space in enclosed forecourt. The apartment was designed and built to high specifications of the owner (not a standard building made by a contractor). All rooms are very spacious and comfortable. There are balconies / verandas on three sides, two of which are very large, offering ample sitting, sunbathing and dining space. Members of larger families therefore have plenty of space!
What makes this Apartment unique
The partment is in a quite, residential area, surrounded by apartments and villas of similar quality. The building has a front and a back garden, shared by ground floor and 1st floor apartments. Parking space is available for 2 cars The apartment has all amenities like many restaurants, bars, 10-pin bowling, grocery shops, laundry, pharmacy and hospital within 5 minutes walk, while the historic harbor with a bubbly nightlife is within 15 minutes walk. The bustling "Wednesday street market", popular with both locals and tourists is only 10 minutes walk away. You can buy fresh local groceries, as well as garments from this market at bargain prices directly from producers.

Huge apartment. Spotless. Very well equipped kitchen. There was even some sun tan lotions for us to use!! Spotless extra towels/bedding. The apartment is in a residential area. We found it very safe and quiet.
The host... Dr. Seluks nephew Erhan lives downstairs.. what a superb host. Could not do enough for us. Late one night, 12pm, we had no water, so I checked usual things messaged Erhan and straight away he got back to us saying he'd come straight away. I said no leave it till morning. Only to find out my partner had turned off the water pump by mistake !! But the fact that Erhan was prepared to come straight away regardless of the time says it all!!

We visit Kyrenia with friends and we all loved the apartment. It is very roomy and well furnished. Sel the owner was very helpful recommending a great restaurant for valentines night. We will definitely go back.

Sel was always available for help and information if needed even when he was away on business.
The apartment was spacious and a very good standard as described and had supermarket and restaurants fairly close. Depending on your walking speed and the route you decide to take, you can be at the harbour in 20-25 minutes. It was a great base for us. We wanted to investigate Northern Cyprus by car and the ease of access to the major routes was very helpful.
We were very pleased with our stay.

Lovely apartment, few problems that can't be fixed
After a few early hitches we had an excellent time. The manager of our apartment, 'Dr Sel', was friendly and helpful throughout our correspondence in advance. Unfortunately he couldn't be there when we arrived, leaving an assistant, Ismail, who was also friendly and helpful but didn't speak a word of English. (His partner was supposed to, but didn't make contact, and my phone wasn't operating so we couldn't contact her). The flat is lovely, very spacious, cool and comfortable, but wasn't quite ready when we arrived, with no soap or toilet paper in any of the three bathrooms, or washing-up liquid in the otherwise well appointed kitchen. However, Ismail managed to show us the local supermarket (very near) and also found us food. The house is in a pleasant residential area, with a few basic shops and restaurants, but quite noisy in the daytime with building works in the vicinity, and too far for us to walk to the old town and harbour in the stunning heat of mid-May (32 C daily). Fortunately we found an excellent small car hire company literally round the corner, with English speaking staff, nice air-conditioned cars and reasonable prices. Once we had our wheels we had a wonderful stay in this fascinating country. There were more excursions to make than we could manage in the time, but we especially loved the old harbour area of Kyrenia, and our apartment was a shady refuge from the heat.
I am delighted that our guests had an excellent time in the apartment and in North Cyprus. I am sorry that I was not able to meet the guests personally, but my manager, who lives in the apartment below was able to tend to all our guests needs, including driving them to and back to the local grocery shop (200 m away) and local restaurant (500 m away). Regarding the comment that apartment wasn't quite ready when the guests arrived because there was no soap or toilet paper or washing-up liquid", we do not promise such items in this self-catering apartment.
Regarding the distance to the harbour, our advert clearly states that it is a 15 minute walk; this was clearly challenging for our elderly guests who were sadly not very mobile. In any way, our advert recommends car hire for visiting all the many interesting places of North Cyprus. I am happy to hear that our guests did that and then could use the car to go to the harbour too.
Regarding the noise, I am afraid Kyrenia is getting more crowded and there is nothing that we can do about that as I presume what our guest eludes to by saying "few problems that can not be fixed". What we can say is that at least all heavy development work around OUR residential area is now completed.

Several top quality sandy beaches are within 5 minute drive, including beaches of Dome Hotel, Rocks and Oscar Hotels; Kervansaray, Sunset, DenizKizi, Acapulco, Shana, Alagadi etc.
Ercan Airport of North Cyprus, accessible only through flights through Turkey (Istanbul,, Izmir Ankara) is within 25 minutes drive. Larnaca or Paphos Airport in Cyprus Republic are around 1 hour drive away. Transfer from all airports can be pre-arranged. Car hire is recommended for ease of travelling to beaches and can be pre-arranged at around £20 per day.
