About this property

East Wing Of Beautiful 17th Century Grade II Listed Knighton Farmhouse

The Brew House contains a comfortable living room with oak floor, inglenook fireplace (with bread oven) and Charnwood wood-burning stove. The dining table seats four, but there are extra chairs if needed. A fully equipped kitchen also contains a dining table. There are two bedrooms, the twin room accessed through the main bedroom, making this an ideal arrangement for children. In the twin room there is a proper wooden cot in addition to two single beds. (We can accommodate up to two children plus one infant). The main bedroom has a king-size double bed. Linens are all new and of excellent quality and beds will be made up for you on arrival. Your electricity is powered by the Isle of Wight sunshine, as we have a good solar installation here for the whole house. The biomass boiler provides plenty of warmth in the winter and there's always lots of hot water too! We have recently been awarded a Gold award for Isle of Wight Green Tourism. There is plenty of information in The Brew House of the many, many attractions and activities on the Isle of Wight, and we are usually around too, to give ideas and recommendations. We also have a selection of bikes (including a tandem), a sit-on-top kayak and wetsuits that we are happy for you to borrow. Please note that in the high season (July and August ) bookings are for full weeks only, Friday - Friday.

About the host

Hosted by Ali Cripps

Host profile image
We (David and Ali Cripps, with our youngest son James) live at Knighton Farmhouse, and the Brew House forms the east 'wing' of the farmhouse. We have lived here since our return to the UK from several years in both Canada and the USA. We love running the Brew House as a holiday cottage, and many of our guests have become friends. We know the Island very well (Ali grew up here) and as we both work from home, are usually around to give advice and ideas of good local places to visit.

Why they chose this property

We love the area - peaceful and rural, yet easy access to everywhere.

What makes this property unique

The Grade II listed cottage is steeped in history, with exposed beams and many original features, including the bread oven in the Inglenook fireplace.
