A lovely few days in a lovely comfy cottage, just a pity we weren't there for longer.
A very positive experience from the initial booking to the actual holiday.

Charming cottage in the heart of Somerset.
We spent an excellent week in the heart of Somerset in this charming cottage.
The cottage os not large, but is very well laid out, with really nice furniture and
fittings throughout. It contains all the atmosphere and trappings that one could
desire for a great holiday.

We're really pleased that you both enjoyed your stay with us and we hope that you will visit us again in the near future.
Enjoyed a peaceful weekend of riding the empty lanes and visiting architectural gems. The cottage was ideally situated for the Somerset Levels and visiting Wells. Good base for the two of us with a well equipped kitchen. A sofa to curl up on after a long bike ride would have been nice but all in all a lovely place to stay

It's nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Damson Cottage. With regard to your comments about a sofa, it quite clearly shows on the website that there is no sofa but thank you for your feedback anyway.
The cottage looks very nice from outside, and inside doesn’t disappoint either. It has a well equipped kitchen and bathroom, good WiFi coverage, TV and HiFi, so it was easy to settle in quickly. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, and Tina made us feel welcome.
We found it ideal as a base to explore and go birdwatching on the Somerset-levels. For rainy days we were able to get in some retail therapy at the outlets in Shepton Mallet and Street. On our last day we visited the Bishops Palace and gardens in nearby Wells, and would like to go back to them in spring.

Thank you for your lovely review, I'm very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Damson cottage.
Very nice and comfortable cottage in a good location. We were only able to organize a short stay, but we would certainly have been happy to stay longer here.
Had a really enjoyable stay in Damson cottage which was very comfortable and well equiped. Location was very good not being far from Burnham on Sea, Wells and other local attractions. Our host Tina was very welcoming and greeted us on our arrival showing us around the cottage and very knowledgeable as to places to visit and eating out.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here and would certainly return again in the future.

We received a warm welcome from Tina on arrival. The cottage comprises of a kitchen/ lounge with one bedroom and a bathroom. It was clean and well furnished. The kitchen was well equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine.
The cottage is a great base to explore the local area. We stayed for 4 nights and visited nearby Wells a few times. It’s a great place for shopping and eating out as well as visiting the historic cathedral and Bishops Palace.
It’s also close to Glastonbury and Bath which were also well worth a visit.
I would definitely recommend this place.

It's great to hear that you had such a good time and we look forward to welcoming you back to Damson Cottage in the near future.
I`d really recommend a stay here, as the facilities are great, it offers good access to plenty of sights in the area and the host is very friendly and helpful.
Tina was welcoming and friendly on arrival explaining the local area which was very helpful. The cottage had a lovely home from home touch in a quiet relaxing area. We enjoyed a country walk in the surrounding area and the cottage was close to Wells which is a recommended place to visit. After a busy day exploring, it was great to come back to the cottage and have a wonderful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed.
The cottage was absolutely beautiful located in a picturesque landscape. A perfect place to stay if you want to relax and also a perfect starting point for a multitude of great excursions in the region. The owners are such lovely and friendly people. We can highly recommend staying at this place and will definitely come back.

Stefanie and her partner are a lovely, friendly couple and it was a pleasure having them stay at Damson Cottage and we would highly recommend them to any other host.
The cottage is very small but well presented. Perfect for a weekend in Somerset, lots to see nearby: Wells, Glastonbury, and the beautiful and unusual landscape of the Somerset levels (great for bird watching at nearby nature reserve).

Thank you for your review and we're pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Damson Cottage. I have to say that I am more than a little surprised at your comments about the size of the cottage as it is bigger than many of the one bed cottages that are available and we have never received a complaint or even a comment saying it is very small in 18 years.

Terrific!!! Tina and her timeless cottage are in a great location just outside Wells. We managed visits to Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor, Wells and Bath. Tina supplied all our needs and was ever accommodating. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage! 5/5

Picture Perfect Country Cottage
We had a very relaxing week at this well equipped property. Tina and Gary were friendly and welcoming. The cottage is furnished to a high standard with the addition of an attractive patio area at the front with colourful flowers. We had a good meal at The Pheasant Inn ( just down the road) and there are numerous places to eat in Wells.Trips to the Bishops Palace in Wells and Tyntesfield were highlights and we would recommend this cottage to any couple looking for a relaxing break.

About the host
Hosted by Tina Edgecombe
Tina and Gary live in a 450 year old farm house that we have extensively restored and refurbished over the past 18 years. Damson Cottage is one of our outbuildings that we converted into a luxury holiday home. We moved to Somerset with our young family in 1985 and absolutely love the area, Our boys have long flown the nest but we have no intention of leaving Ford Farm or Somerset.
Why they chose this property
We love Wells because of the fantastic facilities in the area. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with both Bath and Bristol within easy reach. The historic city of Wells boasts a great range of bars and restaurants as well as many places of interest. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible via the M4/M5 and the A303 and Bristol airport is only 20 minutes away.
What makes this property unique
The property is a tastefully converted stone barn situated in a lovely part of the world with all the mod cons that you would expect. If you are looking to ‘get away from it all’ and unwind in a really relaxing cosy environment then Damson Cottage is the place for you.
