Villa in Kalkan, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - Exclusive And Peaceful Location, Short Walk To Kalkan's Restaurants, Shops And Beach Clubs
About Tracy Pullee
Steve and I visited Kalkan in October 2009. The charm of Kalkan and the high quality restaurants drew us in. We left with a memorable holiday and also returned home as owners of a building project. This was to be the original! It was part of a small complex of exclusive Villas and one of the first glass fronted contemporary villas to be built in Kalkan. We immediately fell in love with the style, luxury and amazing views and after our first season of rentals and rave reviews we decided to purchase our second Villa in the same area and same builder - Serenity II. Kalkan has also worked it's charm on our children (ages 17 -22) and our parents who love the people, history, boat trips, diving, turquoise blue sea and delicious food- hence the need for a larger villa!
Tracy Pullee purchased this Villa in 2010

Kalkan's pebble beach has been carefully and attractively extended. There are also several beach clubs with fantastic facilities including water-sports, refreshments, sunbeds and swimming platforms. The beach clubs will collect you from the villa using a free taxi service. There are also stunning beaches a short drive away. Patara is a 15 min drive or bus ride, and is regularly featured as one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful beaches. Stunning Kaputas beach is also a few minutes drive away.
Dalaman is the nearest airport with an approximate 1 1/2 transfer time to our Villa.
An e-visa needs to be purchased on-line before leaving the UK, approximate cost £12.
The villa is situated a 15 - 20 min walk down to the Old Town of Kalkan passing many restaurants along the way (or a few minutes taxi drive costing approx 10 Turkish Lira/£3). It is important to note that as Kalkan is built upon a hill and car hire is recommended.
A local market is held every Thursday in Kalkan which is approx 10 to 15 mins walk and taxis can collect you with your purchases.
Currency can be exchanged at the nearby local banks/ shops should you require.
Kalkan is a beautiful uncommercialised fishing port which attracts the sophisticated traveller. It's abundance of restaurants and wealth of historical places to visit leave a lasting impression on most visitors wanting to return to this idyllic beautiful place. Patara’s spectacular sandy beach, the much photographed Kaputas beach, Saklikent gorge, the sunken city of Kekova, and ancient historical sites such as Xanthos, Letoon, Tlos, Myra and Kayakoy and the outstanding beauty of Olu Deniz offer the discerning traveller many opportunities to delve into the history and beauty of Kalkan and its surrounding areas. Horse Riding, paragliding, gorge walking, mountain biking and canoeing can be booked in resort for those wishing to sample the sporting life. A private cruise of the coastline offers a spectacular day out for all the family offering swimming in the crystal clear water whilst anchored in the bays. We can recommend taxi firms and we offer competitive car hire rates.
The friendliness and hospitality of the Turkish people embraces you during your stay in Kalkan and leaves a definite impression at the end of a wonderful holiday.
