INTROVERT HEAVEN IS A QUIET, SIMPLE PLACE FOR DOWN-TIME, ROMANCE, CREATIVITY
Introvert Heaven was designed to be private, peaceful and as close to the outdoors as one can get without sacrificing the comfort of shelter. It is a wonderful get-away, perfect for independence, solitude, romance, comfort, writing, slowing down...
The caretaker for this casita lives nearby and is available to you if you need something.
We are located between Taos and the Ski Valley, 6 miles northeast of town and 16 miles west of Taos Ski Valley. There are hiking and biking trails in every direction, winter skiing minutes away and nearby summer rafting. The walls breathe, the heat is in the floor, no chemicals are used in cleaning. The yard is fenced in, with a patio and grill -- ready for you and your well behaved dog. Relax indoors by a fire and enjoy the expansive desert view through large solar windows or sit on the back patio with the smell of fresh air and sage. Better yet, walk out the back gate and stroll through the sage-filled desert, then sink into the hot tub with its 180 degree view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Besides big windows and long views, the casita has a private entrance, fenced in yard, well equipped kitchen, hot tub, Wi-Fi, DVD, CD player, and washer/dryer. Organic coffee and teas are supplied in a kitchen stocked with spices and staples. Also available is information about massage, travel tips, nearby hikes, hot springs and general noshing around Taos.
This casita is one half of a duplex that shares its laundry space. We live their part-time where we also find refuge. The back yards share a common fence, but are separate. The hot tub is also shared, but is private, surrounded by sage and located down and a bit away from the living structure. You will be able to use the hot tub privately and without disruption, other than maybe some howling coyotes.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER BEAUTIFUL PLACE? The casita is perched on the edge of a small hill and takes in the high desert geography as if it were a stage. The many windows emphasize the huge sky we are blessed with. The mountains will continually inspire and replenish your creative juices. And don’t forget to recharge your libido. The desert always has plenty. Renew your spirit watching hawks and crows arguing above coyotes slinking below. The Hot Springs hot tub is a treasure, nestled in the hillside overlooking the birds in the morning, sometimes burrow owls and their babies. And then of course there's the sunset, the night sky...careful not to turn into a prune.
WHO WOULDN’T LIKE IT HERE? You won't like it if you want to walk to restaurants or shop from here, or if you are certain you want a fireplace. YOU WILL LIKE IT if you want to be cozy in other ways, or walk your dog right out the door. It's an easy bike ride to the plaza, restaurants and grocery store. The women who designed and built it went for practical with soft edges. Once out of the yard, we're surrounded by dirt. Some of it gets inside. Critters like to be intimate. We never permanently win the battle to keep prairie dogs out of the yard (at least they are cute) or hold back every mouse that occasionally wants to come in, especially when it gets cold. Not many bugs here though, that's a high desert blessing. The temperature swings at least 30 degrees every day.
No Saturday arrivals please. We rent Fri/Sat nights together
