This condo is located in the family friendly Garden City Beach Area just south of Myrtle Beach. This three bedroom penthouse condo is in the 16 story high rise Royal Garden Resort. The Royal Garden Resort has a large outdoor and indoor swimming pool and a hot tub. Linens are included in the reservation.

Come Relax on your large private oceanfront balcony with unobstructed views of the ocean. Enjoy the resort amenities, which include 2 pools (indoor and outdoor), hot tub and outdoor kiddie pool, and cornhole. We have an onsite family friendly beach bar and grill that offers a variety of special drinks and food.
Check-in is onsite for easy and fast convenience. We can provide contact-less check-in if requested.
You are allotted two parking spaces to park in the onsite parking garage. The parking garage clearance is 6’ 8”. There are a few oversized parking spaces based on availability. Guest cannot have golf carts in the parking garage however, there is parking in front of the garage based on availability.
This beautiful condo is 5 miles from the family friendly Murrells Inlet Marsh walk, close to jet ski and banana boat rentals, fishing, and many more attractions and restaurants.

Family vacation 2025

This property has a beautiful view of the marsh and neighborhood from the front door and of the beach from the balcony. It was really nice to have two king-size beds for the two couples and it was really nice to have two twin beds for the young children, it was really nice to have three separate bathrooms with sinks toilets and showers to accommodate everyone. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The living room and hallway with freshly painted tan and blue to give a coastal theme. Everything was clean. The floors were easy to care for. They were bathtubs and showers to accommodate everyone of all ages. What I would recommend is that the owners consider a new sofa as the cushions were very smashed thin and the loveseat had a piece of plywood under the cushions for extra support. Also, the door jams into the first bedroom near the washroom were extremely scuffed up and need repainting. We had trouble with the louver door that was mirrored in the first bedroom as it kept coming off the track and falling the louver doors over the washroom would not stay on track very easily either. Our first night there, my husband attempted to turn on living room lamp and received a shock, and when he quickly pulled his hand back, the lamp fell apart. We placed it in the washroom and we let maintenance know about the closet and the lamp situation. Once when there was a thunderstorm the elevators were out of order and we had to walk 16 flights of stairs and then the door to the 16th floor locked.

The condo was not as clean as it has been in the past years, I did let Sea Breeze Realty know. I did like that it was close to the elevators. The deck furniture was very nice.

As for 1608: First the cleanliness was 110%, I don’t think we have ever stayed in a condo or hotel that was as spotless as 1608. The decor was gorgeous, the pics online need to be updated to reflect how beautifully selected the decor is. The view is spectacular. The kitchen and supplies were perfect and all the appliances worked as needed. The atmosphere was fantastic and the air conditioning was superb. I have to say I LOVED how the owner labeled the light switches, it was super helpful and labeling inside the kitchen cabinets was great! We couldn’t figure out why the 16th floor was locked in the elevator, but we enjoyed the extra security of it. The only thing missing was my beloved dog, but I understand being selective with pets. The owner needs to know how much we loved their condo and hope that we can come to Royal Garden Resort in the future. It was amazing!

Do not recommend

I do not recommend this rental. The pictures are not accurate and I had a hard time getting comfortable the entire trip because of how dirty this rental was. I actually took a quick picture of our bathroom vent before rushing to check out because of how absolutely gross it was. I am horrified that my children were breathing the air in this condo for multiple days. The view is tremendous but that is the only plus. It seems that the kitchen has been recently updated which was nice. Bathrooms need a DEEP clean but preferably they just need to be redone. Lots of black mold and filth in crevices and corners. I am no cleaning professional but I keep my home WAY cleaner than this on a daily basis. The grout of the floors is black and most likely have never been truly cleaned. My kids feet were black just walking around the condo. We are beach people, sand is our friend and we are not crazy neat freaks, but this was unacceptable. I hope the owners pay for a true deep clean and replace shower heads/moldy caulk/etc. We were able to enjoy our trip because we made the best of it but a clean comfortable home would have been way better.

Reviewer Comments: We were fortunate enough to find this condo on very short notice after our family vacation, originally scheduled for June, had to be cancelled due to medical emergency. The 16th floor view made it feel like we were literally in the ocean. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The beds were comfortable and all appliances worked well. The instructions for the televisions and internet were clear and precise. The resort's trash chute on every floor was a nice ammenity. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and cutlery. There are only a few negatives that I can think of. The only problem we encountered with the condo itself was that there were no pot holders or trivets to handle hot pots and pans. That is pretty minor in my opinion and we made do well enough with dish towels. The resort itself has three elevators, but only two worked during our entire stay, and there was one day where only one was working. This made for some very long waits to get to and from the 16th floor to the beach. The other negative is the very cramped parking garage. Be prepared to back up to allow traffic to pass in the opposite direction. Parking was also a tedious task. However, the other ammenities like pool and on-site restaurant more than made up for the difficulties with parking and elevators. We definitely recommend this condo and resort.

We were on the sixteenth floor, so the views were incredible from our balcony. Mere steps from the beach, we couldn’t have asked for a better location. The mattresses were not the greatest, and the bathrooms need a good deep cleaning (I was able to wipe off the red mold around the fixtures with a tissue), but overall we were very pleased.

Got woke up next morning by police to get a parking ticket for parking along the side of road in that area. Only other parking is a very small parking garage. If u don’t drive a compact car. You won’t be able to park very easy. Beds were horrible old metal coil mattresses that feel like there originals from the 1980’s half the tv’s didn’t work. Takes 20-30 mins to get down to ground from top floor due to one elevator working

Spring Break

I took my teenage daughter and her friend to the beach for Spring Break. My husband and my two adult children came as well. The condo had plenty of room for everyone and was very comfortable. The beachfront location was perfect and the view was magnificent.

The sofas are different to what's shown in the picture...they’re old and very noisy when you sit on them. The furniture configuration is different to what's shown in the picture and the current set up isn't conducive to group conversations...plus there's a sign that says "Don't move the furniture". The ‘master suit’ bedding was like something you’d find in a thrift store. Housekeeping had done a cursory clean throughout but there was a thick layer of dust on everything that wasn’t easy to dust (i.e. wall light fixtures, wrought iron wall art, lamps). The entire unit had an old-and-tired feel to it and I wouldn't stay here again. This unit needs a major overhaul.

This location needs a good deep clean to be vrbo worthy.

We wouldn't stay here again for these reasons: ~ the VRBO picture shows nice fresh clean furniture but the furniture arrangement in the unit this weekend was different and only conducive to watching TV, not conversation, plus there was a note saying "don't move the furniture". The sofas are now a different color so they've been recovered which means they're old and worn out underneath the newer fabric (never sat on a sofa that said "oooof" every time someone sat on it) . Oh...and that blue chair in the picture is actually very, very dirty. ~ the kitchen sink was badly stained and at first glance it looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. ~ the fridge had rust spots on the outside. ~ the ceiling tiles in the hall bathroom were in a bad state. ~ there was a layer of dust on everything that wasn't an easy clean. All the lamps, the wall lighting in the master bath, and the artwork in the master bath were layered with dust and it was pretty gross. Housekeeping appears to do a cursory job but not a proper clean. ~ the comforter and the pillows in the master bedroom felt like something you'd pick up at a thrift store. ~ there was a constant loud whine from the ceiling over the master bedroom/bathroom and the hall bath. Tough to sleep with a jet engine by your head. Yes, the location is great and everything is within decent driving distance, the view is great and the pelicans and pigeons are flying right outside the window, but the condo itself needs a major overhaul from balcony to back door. It's not clean, the decor is dated, and the entire unit has a tired and worn out feel to it. It's clear that someone hasn't paid attention to this unit in a long time. If the owner disputes what I've said then I can send pictures.

We loved the location and easy access to the pool and beach. The unit met our needs, but I do have a couple of recommendations for the owners. Housekeeping did not sweep under the beds and we found trash. The shower nozzle in the shared bathroom shower was difficult to adjust. We would like to have had more plastic bowls with lids for storing food; there was only one. I am an owner of a rental condo and know that suggestions are meant to improve the needs of our guests.

I have rented this same condo several years in a row and this was the first time that the unit was absolutely filthy. The tub has a dirt ring in it that we had to clean out before we were able to shower. The Toilet didn't work in the master bath. Thankfully my father is a plumber and was able to fix it. Nothing had been wiped down and the place was so dirty and it bothered us so much that we actually checked out early and came home because we just couldn't take it any longer. I hope that the owners get this corrected because the condo really is a nice unit but people will not return to nasty conditions.

Wish there were some covered seating options on the pool deck, but we are at the beach, so the sun is part of the package! The unit was perfect. Plenty of space. Hardly used TV as we were busy on the beach and out doing things, but was great to have the option. Carpet is a little worn out, and one shower head needs some attention, but overall, it was everything we needed. The staff and maintenance were available, friendly and helpful. Check-in and out was a breeze and upon checkout we reported shower issue and it seemed they would have maintenance on it right away. We would stay here again!
