Located to the north of Richmond city, the 3000 sf brick house has a lot size of 0.5 acre of land and offers privacy. The neighborhood is in a quiet and nice sub-division where big lots and big houses are a typical. It is 2.5 miles to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, 15 miles to Richmond International Airport, 4 miles to Richmond International Raceway, 7 miles to Greater Richmond Convention Center and Coliseum downtown area. . Walmart, Lowe's, Restaurant Depot, cinema and Virginia Center Commons shopping mall are within 4 miles of reach. New kitchen and new appliances throughout the house. High speed Verizon Fios Internet, wifi and TV. For reservations, I will contribute $30 out of $59 damage protection insurance coverage that you buy when you make a booking here. My contribution of the $30 is in the form of refund after your departure. But if there is a damage, there will be no refund of my contribution.
I am self-employed. I take care of international students under the age of 18. I provide homestay to them - that is why I need a house to accommodate the students over the weekend and during major holiday breaks.
Property Manager/Owner purchased this house in 2015
I have a clean and tidy house, not luxurious. It is a comfortable stay just like home. Please don't confuse it with a full service hotel.
Big spaces
The property has a two night minimum, we are so lucky because Charmaine allowed us to stay for one night because a previous guest cancellation. The house is large and clean, the house is an old brick house, we are impressed how much renovation has been done to improve the looks of the house.
Nice and big house. Quiet neighborhood. good location to downtown and Kroger is 5 minutes away. We had a 13 people in our group so this is a good lodging for a big group.
Technically the house was as advertised.....but the accommodations were sparsely furnished, and two of the bedrooms were really not bedrooms but large rooms. one of which held two bunk beds that were rickety and one had a day bed in a downstairs family room that had a dining room table in it. There was only one TV. The oven was full of ashes that we had to clean out to use. There was only one shower that really worked. There were several signs that warned of dire consequences and loss of the damage deposit, which made everyone nervous. How can you forbid smoking outside the house. Would never rent here again or recommend.
This property met all of our needs!! It's located in a nice section of the city, has a fenced in yard....great for the kids, and has plenty of room and sleeping area. It is also within walking distance to stores. We rented this as a place for a large part of our family to stay as my daughter was getting married in Richmond. it was great to have everyone together for meals and to have a "home base" to work from. No stuffy hotel rooms for us!! The kids had lots of room to play. The house is incredibly clean, and it's clear the owner takes pride in her property. She is easy to work with, responds to messages, and is very helpful. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Richmond area, and if you are a large group, this is a great place! We would definitely stay here again!!
After driving almost 14 hours we arrived at a dirty house. We didn't know if the house was being renovated or what was going on. House needs a ton of work done to it. Owner does not seem interested in doing any maintenance to the home any time soon. Children could not play in the yard due to poison ivy. Garbage was full when we arrived and was not taken the entire time we were there. The bedroom where my sick father and brother stayed was not functioning properly. The main bathroom had mold on the curtain and the curtain would not close all the way so water would get on the floor during our showers. We were unable to adjust temp on AC because thermostat was under lock and key. The list goes on and on. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there.
This is a great place if you have a big family/group that needs to put their heads down at night. Two long community-style tables - one on first floor, and one on second floor.
It was June when we went, and the outside vegetation was quite too untamed - but then we had just had a big week of rains so... EVERYTHING ELSE - nice!
This was the perfect location to visit the city of Richmond without staying in the city. The house was clean and neat. It is a bit dated, but that is just cosmetic. It is a nice house for a family to share at a very reasonable price.
